The Vampire's lower half which was no longer connected falls to the ground as the upper half of Irina shouts in pain she finally lets go of Mike and falls to the ground. She was not though as there was no way in the Nine Hells it would be so easy to kill a vampire with just a single sword stroke even if it is a spirit weapon. So Mike starts painfully moving backward as it seems like his pain resistance skill is not going to be activating in this situation or it was activated but the pain was a lot greater than what he was feeling right now that it still hurt a lot.

Vampires when they usually drain their victims use some sort of substance on their victims that causes them to feel both pleasure and pain that they have never felt in their life and because of this, they can barely think as a result. Mike however was able to think clearly due to his pain resistance skill but unfortunately, this was the first time he was subjected to this form of torture so the pain resistance skill was not as effective as it would be later on if he were to experience it again.

'Speak of the devil and he shall appear' Mike thinks as he sees this new notification

Mike backs away further as Sarenthia flies away and goes to deal with the other remaining men in the room. Now that Mike is no longer being drained of blood he knows realizes that the room is a lot quieter than before. Now there was still the sound of metal hitting metal, the tearing of flesh, and cries of pain but that was from Sarenthia who was now slaying the remaining men with ease due to their fatigue and exhaustion of trying to deal with her. Still, it was a lot quieter and Mike looking towards the people who were fighting in the center of the room he sees that they had stopped killing each other now.

Mike looks at the pitiful figure of the vampire who was trying to stuff the guts back into her body which were now beginning to spilling out and attempting to regenerate her body while she had the chance.

"Hey," Mike says while snapping his fingers to get her attention

She looks over and sees Mike before giving him a death stare as a result of the reminder that she was in this situation because of him.

"Don't look at me like that you were the one who provoked the sword," Mike says

All he receives is a death glare back at him and nothing else.

"Sarenthia stop playing with them and get over here!" Mike shouts at her

'That's easy for you to say!' Was the only response he got from her as she speeds up even faster to the point where the human eye cannot even track her at times

A few more seconds waiting and Sarenthia was now floating next to him while the point of the blade was aimed at the vampire.

"Okay now I am going to offer you a deal your life for those peoples lives, or whoever is alive," Mike offers

"..." Irina say nothing but her expression softens for a moment before it reverts to what it was before

"I am not afraid of you human I cannot die from your blade," She says defiantly

"Hahaha!" Mike starts laughing as he hears this since he has had to deal with vampires in Dungeons and Dragons before

He has all the stats and weaknesses of the monsters from the Monster Handbook [1] memorized like the back of his hand, and if he were to bet that what was in the book was very close to the truth on how to kill this vampire.

Now if she had all the things like a regular D&D vampire that remained to be seen. Unless she decided to transform into a cloud of mist Mike was not sure but seeing as she has not attempted to use anything like that Mike assumed that she was not yet capable.

"I know your kinds weakness just find your coffin when you are asleep and a well-timed stab to the heart will paralyze you after that some holy magic spells or silver will kill you," Mike says in full confidence causing Irina to open her eyes wide as her kin's secrets were revealed so easily before her

"Now then I will only ask once more your life for their's," Mike says as Sarenthia moves closer towards her

"Why will you spare me?" She asks in a slightly fearful tone as the blade moves towards her

"Well I am not one to kill a pretty lady" Mike responds which causes Sarenthia to stop moving forward and Irina to have a confused expression on her face

"Kidding I want information about three robed figures that were here," Mike says dispelling the weird atmosphere that was beginning to settle here

"Oh... you want information on those three," She says with a voice of disdain

"I guess they are not one of your lackeys then?"

"Far from it, they barged in here one day demanding that these idiots here work for them for an unimaginable fee, and my predecessor before me wanted them to leave as they would surely bring trouble. They killed him as a result of his disobedience and my organization sent me here to make peace with them and cooperate so that they could leave sooner" Irina says

"Well, I guess that explains a few things but I highly doubt they told you why they kidnapped me or something else important?" Mike asks

"Heh they told us nothing about why they were here or about what they wanted you for"

"Alright, then Sarenthia are there still some of those unsucked bodies?" Mike asks

'There should be a few of them left, but why do you need them?' She replies

Mike does not reply and only goes over the corpses of the men and starts dragging the ones that Sarenthia left untouched towards Irina. It was a hassle and a waste of time but Mike still did it and placed them in front of Irina.

Both Sarenthia and Irina look confused at Mikes actions

"Look I realize that you are not the cause for kidnapping me and all that so I want to make amends with you as it is better to have more friends then enemies am I right," Mike says while also thinking 'I also cannot deal with anyone of a powerful organization anyways so I will spare myself the trouble'

All he got was a look of confusion from Irina but she still accepts the gesture and starts drinking blood from her associate's corpses. Still, Mike was willing to bet that she was not emotionally attached to any of them as she said that she has not been here that long anyway.

Mike started checking on the people that were in the middle of the room. They were no longer fighting like before but they were unconscious on the bloodied floor lying down on some of the dead. The scene was disturbing, to say the least, but Mike pushed through it and started dragging some of the corpses of the people from the center of the room to Irina and Sarenthia to drain the blood from. After making the pile Mike starts dragging the people that were still alive out of the room and around the corner after treating them with his limited knowledge of medicine and healing that he knew the basics of.

After that, he helped drag Irina's body together and stuffing her guts back inside her body so that she could regenerate and heal as well. After waiting a few minutes her body re-attaches to herself and she can now barely use her legs.

"I thank you human for your generosity," She says

"Your welcome," Mike responds in kind as he helps her stand up and leads her up to her throne

"Seeing as how I have some extra time care to tell me why there is a vampire in the city?" Mike asks as he sits down at the base of the throne.

"My people live here amongst you humans and have done so for the past century or so and as a result of that, a sort of harmony was born from us living together and doing some dealings with them through various means. Take this slave trade as an example of one of the services that we offer," Irina answers Mike's question

"Hm... I guess your people have had mixed children then?" Mike asks

"Yes we have had a few rare occasions of my kind and your's having a child and the result being a half-breed"

"So that explains why you cannot transform into a cloud of mist then?" Mike asks

"That is only a rumor that you humans came up with our kind can only transform into animals and beasts of the night," Irina says taking a bit of offense from what Mike was implying

"Oh sorry about that I did not mean to imply that you were a half-breed as you put it" Mike hastily explains

"That is alright seeing as how you are indeed kind enough to spare me from killing me earlier I will let this pass"

"Good to know then but I must be going now, Irina. You also might want to consider abandoning this place as the guards will defiantly investigate this once we are out," Mike says he gets up and walks out of the room

As Mike walks out of the room Irina realizes something 'Wait how does he know my name?'

The people that Mike saved again had started waking up so Mike hurriedly told them to get up and get moving so that they could leave this Hell Hole. The people who were left hurriedly get going and as they see some of those who were with them before missing they begin to ask questions about what happened to them, but Mike silences them by saying that he will tell them once they have escaped.

They go past the four-way stop intersection for the last time and go down the way to the probable exit that Mike found. They reach the door but no one moves to open it.

"We already went this way. The door is locked" Someone said

"I lockpicked it so just hurry up and open the door so we can get out of here"

With that, someone opens the door and everyone starts going up the slope as they realize that freedom is up ahead they all start to hurry up a bit with some renewed vigor and hope in their eyes. Ahead of them is light glorious sunlight coming off to the left of them which was being reflected up onto the ceiling. They enter a sewer system which had dirty and foul-smelling water flowing down to the left which everyone is forced to walk to get to the sunlight. Ahead there it was an open sewer grate that had been cut open for people to walk through and further ahead was sunlight coming in through an opening.

Everyone hurries up and exit the sewers and are now outside and free from their captors. They had exited the sewers and saw that they were no longer in the city of Irondale but in the area where sewage is dumped out from the noble district and some of the wealthier middle-class areas that actually needed waste to be dumped from their homes. The slums did have the waste in their area dumped but that was only once a week at best. Still, everyone was glad to be finally free but when they realized that Mike had yet to explain why some of them were gone from the group so they all look towards him for an explanation.
