CHAPTER 6: I AM THE INSECT QUEEN

When Hawk was away, looking for food, Priscilla woke up. She greeted me good morning although it was already noon. She asked what happened after she yawned and scratched her eyes. Sometimes I wonder if Priscilla could be any dumber because after getting almost killed, she still is confused. I mean, if you almost died, that would certainly be the most unforgettable memory of your whole life.

"Ahhhh! We're so high up!" She screamed, surprised. I guess it's a normal reaction for someone who suddenly woke up in a high place, in a bird's nest to be exact.

"Don't tell me... You brought me here?" She asked, pointing at my small wings. She hugged me, really believed that I was the one who carried her heavy body here when I only have two small wings. Dumb.

"It's a good thing you're awake." The newly arrived Hawk in human form and still had his wings unclosed, carrying a basket of fruits and a jar filled with water, said.

"Andromeda, is this an angel I'm seeing?" Priscilla whispered, just enough for me to hear. Her mouth was slightly open and her eyes were twinkling.

Hawk laughed and explained everything to her. Priscilla thanked him multiple times which Hawk accepted. She also looked at me with 'why didn't you tell me?' look although I'm a cat and can't talk. Dumb.

Hawk offered us the food he gathered then we ate altogether.

‹ Is this really a witch, Andromeda?› Hawk asked using Telepathy.

‹ It's hard to believe but yes.› I answered, Hawk laughed. Priscilla asked why he's laughing and he answered, "Andromeda said something funny."

Priscilla's expression when she looked at me was that of someone who've seen a ghost. Her eyes moved to the apple I'm eating. "W-why ar-re yo-u e-eating fru-uits, A-and-drome-da?" She's stuttering so much like she's about to cry. It's not unnatural but not all cats like to eat fruits.

‹ She doesn't know. I'm sorry for that, Andromeda.› Hawk apologized.

‹ It's okay, forgive me for her dumb reaction.› I answered that made Hawk stop himself from laughing.

Priscilla noticed that Hawk is using Telepathy on me that's why we were able to talk. "I see, no wonder Andromeda acquired a lot of skills and even has wings now. She's really special."

"Yes, I immediately sensed it when I saw her evolving." Hawk was smiling while saying those words like a proud dad.

"That's right! This might be the chance for me to talk to her through you!"

Hawk just laughed but after seeing Priscilla's determined face, he raised his hands and said he'll do it. I'm not sure but I guess I need to explain everything to Priscilla. Or not. I'm not really sure if she's gonna accept my explanation or she's gonna laugh at me. Who would believe I was born in a different world and one day woke up in this world?

I sighed and walked towards Priscilla and put my paw on her right leg. Her eyes widened and looked at me like 'I understand, it's better not to know'.

Hawk sensed the mood and asked, ‹ Why don't you wanna talk to her?›

‹ It's better if she remains clueless of where I came from and my whereabouts because even I don't know.›

Hawk nodded and changed the subject. We talked about the witches and what they might do next. Priscilla was really terrified and worried.

"They won't give up," she uttered. "I'm sure of it."

After the long talk, Hawk offered us a ride home. It's only natural for him to return us home, we can't go home ourselves immediately, am I right? We rode on his back. The scenery from above is really beautiful, I didn't get to appreciate this earlier because of all that happened, and I was focused on thinking about why a bird suddenly took me.

But when we arrived home, a group of men dressed in black just like the one who failed to assassinate Priscilla welcomed us. Hawk immediately brought out a knife and I moved in front of Priscilla who is not capable of fighting.

One of them revealed its face and to my surprise, it was a lady with black lips and thick black eyeshadow.

"Lady Priscilla, forgive one of my men for hurting you. I am Lila and I am here to fetch you in accordance to the Queen's order." She bowed down so as the other.

"I can't let you get away, Priscilla. Your role as the scarlet princess is waiting for you," she continued.

Priscilla shook her head aggressively while her knees kept on shaking. "I won't let you make use of me," she replied.

"If you keep on resisting, I'll have no choice but to kill you here, right now," Lila said and smiled like a crazy woman. You wish, you ugly witch.

She signaled her men to attack but to her surprise, none of them moved. When she turned to her back to face them, her eyes widened when she saw them petrified. Right! It was the cutest Andromeda who did that!

Right when I saw them when we arrived, I immediately used [Demonic Eyes of Paralysis LV2] to weaken them and used [Demonic Eyes of Petrification LV2] to petrify them, it took some time but after all the talks, the process was completed. They did not die but they are paralyzed and stoned up to their chests so if you leave them alone, they'll surely die.

"Fine, then. I shall take you on by myself," Lila confidently said but I have already prepared an attack for her. I used [Antenna LV1] and called countless of bugs and insects. I can only call those with antenna like me so I called some ants, centipedes, mosquitoes, large flies, and bees. I let some of them use [Paralysis Fangs], [Poison Fangs], and [Itch Bite]. Although they can only use a little bit, their number should do the trick, the effect should be strong. Centipedes and ants began to crawl up to her feet, knees, and thighs. The bugs also bit her but no matter how she shoo them away, the bugs still attacked her.

My antenna allows me to call and control insects that also have antennas. I fear them but this is my ultimate attack against women. It costs me a lot of energy, tho.

Lila almost fainted out of fear, disgust, and itch. She might be more powerful than any of us, but as a girl, there's no way she can stand against bugs and itch. I'm not sure if she's really stronger than Hawk but with her curse magic, Hawk might be put in danger.

And because of that, my status rose up. My HP increased because I defeated powerful foes.

"Hah! You saved us, Andromeda," Hawk picked me up and carried me in his arms. Hehe, stop it, Mr. Hawk, I'm blushing. HEH! Enough of this!

"Now that they've found my house, we need to move away," Priscilla said, slowly trying to compose herself.

"Then I'll introduce you to my master," Hawk suggested. We had no choice but to agree with Hawk since there's no way we can find a house right away.

‹ What are your thoughts, Andromeda?› Hawk asked while looking at me.

‹ Who is this master of yours?› I asked. Hawk is a bird, it's only natural for him to have a master.

‹ You'll meet him soon, he will tell you everything he knows about the witches and might as well protect you. You know, his family was killed by the witches so I am sure he's gonna help you.› Hawk answered.

Although Hawk described this person as kind and merciful fella, I got really nervous.
