I am a Scarecrow and the Demon Lord of Terror!

This work started off quite well, I have to say. Now it wasn’t first-rate or anything, but it was still a tiny dose of gore and horror to satiate my misanthropic sadism at the end of the day. It focuses on a transmigrator of unknown origin (more on this later) who settles in the body of a scarecrow with a system which grants abilities with ‘fear-points’, in an eastern-themed supernatural world. Pretty basic premise. Now, as I mentioned, it started off relatively well, but soon went downhill once the main character started interacting with human civilians, trying to blend in. While I can tolerate the occasional sexual encounter to further the plot, experiment or gain information via ‘pillow-talking’, after the first instance, the author had apparently decided to make these things a regular theme, with these worthless uni-dimensional female characters sprouting up out of nowhere and the rather merciless main character becoming soft in their treatment of what should have been a ‘fear-battery’ at any other time if it were not for the fact theat they were female. And considering that the main-character isn’t even human and doesn’t possess reproductive organs, a sexual drive and cannot even engage in intercourse without putting his recipients in an illusion, I personally feel that it completely overturns the main character’s establised impression and makes the writing seem haphazard and crude. Additionally, with the minor translation issues, typical cliches and the flat and one-sided characters, you get another repetitive story, which could have, with better considerations, planning and writing, been something much greater. Speaking of the main character, up to where I have read (~300 chapters), we have yet to get even a preliminary understanding of where the main character’s soul comes from. We only know that he doesn’t ‘belong’ to the one in which th story takes place. Do not get me wrong, I do like how well he adapts and makes use of the situation he’s found himself in, but the fact that his backstory remains a blank makes the main character hollow (literally and figuratively) and unrelatable. Of course one thing this work did well was the updating frequency, but if you ask me, the author should have focused more on quality of writing, rather than quantity and speed here. Safe to say it is another dissapointment to add to the pile.

Guys I think that the story ends on chapter 430 because there’s no new chapter happening.

This story looks great with nice charector devlopment and background, It is one of the best Villain novel on this website.... Thanks for the great story Author 👍... Warning :- Those who don't like Cruel or Anti-Hero MCs should not read this, because here MC kills a lot of people... ______________________________________

I thought it was good until it's start getting boring with all the filler and so many pov of other characters.I can bear to read it until chapter 165 before I dropped.You can read my comments there to know my rants why I dropped, seriously forced asf.The move by author was seriously stupid as it was a turn off.Thanks anyway I guess.

So I'm less than 19 chapters in and I see the name Nikorei, can anyone tell me if she is the same Nikorei from the devil's cage? They are not by the same author tho.

This is a story about a guy who kills for no apparent reason. Mind you, I'm not the kind of guy who whines about the pizza place not making me good burgers, so I'm rating this pretty high because this was looking like a pretty good villain protagonist story even if that's not necessarily my thing...Yet, I ended up stopping at Tch.16, because ultimately the story kind of stopped being compelling because I'd quickly stopped holding any positive sentiments for the protagonist, and his reactions and the world's reactions, stopped making sense. To be fair, I barely liked the MC to begin with. I've seen characters who feed on fear before, and I've seen that setup done better with either a much lower body count, a convincing reason for why the MC has to kill, or a better set up for the deaths, or all three.

This is simply amazing! The storyline! the characters! The not too short nor was it long explanation in each sentence! All of them are simply amazing..., especially how the author set up the scenes. I can say the top 3 rankings currently should be abolished. This one alone is more than enough to hold a yearly title. Words can't describe how shocked I am!.

It's not a horror or suspense story. The scene is a semi modern world with satellites and high speed internet cell phones. The MC because of the clickbait is a scarecrow and the horror part is to justify getting FAME points. Basically it's an MC with a fame point system where unnamed NPC's die because: clickbait. The MC has body refinement, immortality and a sharp magic weapon, also assumes human form and can date. No spicy scenes as it still has Chinese censorship.

It was great at the start but after chapter 40 the translation quality dropped really low, they started changing people, places and skills names and and a character gender would be female at one chapter then change into male in an another one.

I dare say that this story is really great, from the story, design, even lore all is great. The only problem is that after trial read, the quality is literal trash, looks like a MTL instead, or even worse. if not for the translation quality, this would be perfect

The story looks great at first if not considering how he randomly decides that he loves killing people, not sure if I missed a piece of background that would fit that. Overall, I would really enjoy this novel if it weren't for one thing, after chapter 40 the translation, rewriting, or whatever is happening goes to ****! Genders start to get mixed up, names constantly change, location names change, and skill names constantly change. Usually I would think it's just an mtl thing, but here the genders that change are basically kept wrong. For example, one guy was clearly depicted as male as he could get at the beginning of the story. After chapter 40 his name and gender changed to female versions completely... With mtl it would usually just make most everything male with how the Chinese language works, so whatever this "translator" is doing, it's going horribly wrong.
