3 03. Corpse Ghost Sect

It Had been a week since Fang Yang had come to this world and in this time he had fully come to terms with his new reality

After leaving the previous battleground, Fang Yang had journeyed through the world passing through towns and cities and overhearing some local news and information. But even with this Fang Yang didn't dare ask for information about cultivators or go to any cultivator gatherings.

He simply kept his head down and moved towards the sect in a low-key manner.

From both his previous life and his current one Fang Yang knew that loose cultivators were a bunch of unscrupulous desperados who would kill for treasure.

Fang Yang was an obvious greenhorn and with his weak cultivation, he could be quickly marked as fat sheep to plunder. If after his transmigration, he died before he even set on his cultivation journey, it would just be too tragic. Because of this, Fang Yang didn't want to take any chances.

Fang Yang had decided, at least before he completed his Battle Saint Corpse puppet, he would not leave the sect.

For safety reasons, Fang Yang also decided that he would only complete the refining of the Battle Saint Corpse puppet at the sect.

Fortunately, he wouldn't have to wait for much longer as after his week-long journey, Fang Yang had come to the foot of a giant mountain range where the Corpse Ghost Sect was located.

Despite being only at the bottom of the mountain Fang Yang could feel goosebumps crawling all over his skin.

Befitting of a place called the Corpse Ghost Sect, the environment of the place was extremely creepy.

The Corpse Ghost Sect was founded on a rare Dual Spirit Vein, one of them was a natural pure Qi spirit Vein but the other was an extremely Rare Yin Spirit vein. This meant the concentration of Yin Qi was abnormally high. This was naturally a good thing when it came to breeding Ghosts and Corpses, but for the regular human, it could come with countless negative effects such as strange unfounded sicknesses or gradual deficiency of qi and blood as well as a deficiency in vitality.

Fang Yang knew from his memory that the upper management of the Corpse Ghost Sect had set up formations to contain the leak of Yin Qi to the outside world and its disciples, but nothing was ever perfect. Even with these all formations and barriers, it simply couldn't hide the malevolent aura that surrounded the mountain.

Shivering, Fang Yang started his gradual journey up to the top of the mountain.

Walking up the ancient steps of the Corpse Ghost Sect, Fang Yang looked at the eerie forest all around him and couldn't help but go pale.

The trees in the forest seemed to sway, forming what Fang Yang could only describe as Dancing phantoms.

A terrifying wind seemed to constantly blow through the forest causing the tree branches to shake and whistle creating the sounds of screaming ghosts!

If it was in his past life, Fang Yang would have #dismissed the screams of ghost as simply his imagination, but in the vicinity of Corpse Ghost Sect, this could very well be a reality!

Unable to handle the strange Haunted environment any longer, Fang Yang changed his slow walk into a light sprint, quickly ascending the stairs as fast as he could.

Due to this it only took him a few minutes before he neared the top of the mountain and saw a giant ancient archway with a humongous obsidian plaque attached to it.

'Corpse Ghost Sect'

But besides the plaque and archway, Fang Yang could see nothing else as everything behind the archway was covered in a pitch-black mist.

Suddenly, as Fang Yang was looking into the mist, he felt a horrifying aura descend onto his body as a booming voice sounded in his ears.

"Where is the token?" Asked the voice

Looking up, Fang Yang saw the origin of the voice and in doing so, his heart almost leapt out of his mouth.

In front of him was the giant, twisted, ugly phantom of a face that easily surpassed 4 meters in size.

Although From Fang Yang's memories, he knew this was coming seeing this was the first time he saw it in person he was still scared shitless!

All great sects have guardian beasts that would usually guard the gate of the sect and the Corpse Ghost Sect was no different. The only difference was that for them instead of having a monster be the guardian, they had a giant ghost!

This guardian ghost had been at the sect for so long that its exact origins were a complete mystery.

No one knew the exact name of the ghost but everyone in the sect seemed to only call it Elder Ghost Face.

In addition to its origins, its exact strength was also one of the mysteries surrounding this strange ghost. but this didn't mean it was weak.

It was said that there was once a time a Foundation Establishment strong man wanted to sneak into the sect after stealing the identity of a killed disciple but it was easily discovered by Elder Ghost Face and devoured without any resistance.

Looking at the strange being that could only exist in one's nightmares in his previous life, Fang Yang gulped nervously but even though he was nervous he didn't dare be disrespectful and quickly greeted.

"This disciple greets Elder Ghost Face."

Not interested in Fang Yang's words, Elder Ghost Face didn't even bother to acknowledge his greeting and asked once again.

"Where is your token?"

Not daring to delay, Fang Yang reached into his space pouch and brought out a black jade token.

Suddenly, the token floated out of Fang Yang's hand and into the air in front of Elder Ghost Face.

The ghost then spat out a cloud of white mist that surrounded the token and Fang Yang before its booming voice resounded in Fang Yang's ears once again.

"You passed."

Hearing this, Fang Yang breathed a sigh of relief and after retrieving his token, thanked the elder before walking straight into the black mist.

As Fang Yang entered the mist it seemed to part aside revealing a pathway that he followed into the outer sect.
