Jessica's Comeback
It has been peaceful for a month. Jessica is playing with the kids in Ki Tong Orphanage. Madame Su Meng is grateful for Jessica's company. "Thank you for giving hope to these unfortunate orphans, Miss Jessica." said Madame Su Meng happily. "No problem. I also thank you for taking me in 5 years ago." Jessica said with a smile.
5 years ago, when Jessica was travelling alone, she met a lady who is running away with children. They were being chased by bandits. Feeling the need to save them, Jessica slaughtered the bandits. Seeing them smile makes Jessica happy, to the point that she can finally cry.
Jessica now is helping Madame Su Meng managing the Ki Tong Orphanage to take care of the orphans. Jessica is basically a teacher as she teaches them basic mathematics and social studies. Madame Su Meng teaches the children how to read and write, and some etiquettes for them to use once they joined the society. The children are energetic and joyful. They never fear the cold and hunger thanks to Jessica working hard in her side jobs.
"Sister Jessica. Can we hear you sing Old Mcdonalds?" asked by the little girl. Jessica accepts her little request and sings the Old Mcdonalds. She makes the sounds of each animals mentioned in the song. Boys typically like the sounds of the dog and cow. While the girls liked the duck and pig. Everyone is laughing when Jessica is making the silly expressions of the animals.
Madame Su Meng is quite happy listening to the laughs of the children. Until someone came screaming outside that monsters are coming. The people are panicking and the running for their lives. That chaos caused the children to feel fear. Madame Su Meng is anxious of what will happen. "Jessica. We should also go with the children and leave this place." said Madame Su Meng.
Jessica gives her a smile and said, "Don't worry Madame Su Meng. I will not let anything happen to Jia, Tonton, Lee, Nana, Paopao, and Sumi. I will handle the monster problem." Madame Su Meng fears for Jessica's life, but her confident smile removes her doubt. "If it is you, you can certainly save this City." said Madame Su Meng. "You bet I am. It is time for the Mage to save the city." said Jessica.
Jessica went home to her house, equipping her combat attire. It is the modern hoodie, modern pants, stylish boots, stylish arm guards, ten rune rings, black belt, black gloves, cross charm and the Mana Blade. Some of them are created by Jessica herself by using the Crafting System. Jessica's outfit reflects her past dream of becoming a Mage.
The monster stampede is near, the soldiers are doing their best to slow their charge. Cultivators already left the place since they do not rule the Windy Sky City. Except a dozen of Cultivators that chose to protect the city. That included the person who stalked Jessica. "I may still be a Foundation Realm Cultivator, but I can handle mere beasts." she said confidently. It is only a matter of time before the last stand begins.
