Authors note:This is a rough draft I am not sure about MC's backstory so I will update it if I can think up a good one.

Eragon POV

I never thought I would meet a member of the Denali coven only a month from my arrival also my eyes must have been playing tricks since I find Kate is more beautiful now I see her in real life.I was brought out of my thoughts when I heard Kate ask"Who are you and What are you."

I raised my hands gesturing I don't mean any harm as I replied "My name is Eragon and I am dark fey."Kate was confused as she questioned "Dark Fey are you telling me you are fairy."I held my heart acting mock hurt as I repelid "Hey don't compare me to those small butterfly winged things."Kate was glint of amusement seeing my reaction as she continued questioning , "Did anyone see you."I shook my head replied while stroking mu non existent beard, "No I am pretty sure if they did it would be on the news and people will be crying 'Satan'. ."Kate had a small on her face when she heard that.

I looked at her curiously and asked, "By the way what are you."Kate raised an eyebrow as I explained "Your heart isn't beating."Kate gave a nod and replied, "Seeing you are not human I am not breaking any laws so I am a vampire."I gave a nod and said, "Vampire..huh interesting."Seeing he was not averse to her being a vampire Kate was happy inside.

I picked up on the fact she is happy using empathy but didn't know why also I was not sure about the idea of reading her mind as I didn't want to make her angry so I let it go.Soon Kate started showing up at my place from then on it was easy to get to know her she has laid back personality.Also it was good to have company and I was getting attracted to her the more time we spend with each other but I forcefully pushed the feeling down as I knew her mate was Garrett.

Kate with slight curiosity asked, "So why haven't I seen any of your kind before."I was thoughtful remembering a small memory seeing GOD had set up a background story for me to tell as I replied "Well there used to be a lot of us now their is only one left."Kate was confused and sad as she asked, "Aren't your kind immortal."I gave a nod and replied "Not all dark fey are immortal they have a weakness to iron also they did not have abilities like mine.I was special in a way."I waved my hand and created an illusion of the Phoenix mother, a large skeletal structure surrounded by fire and a dark clouded aura kate was surprised seeing this as she asked "What is that."

[Authors Note:I have changed a few things like this happened before the cold ones were formed.Like the first cold ones where formed in 4000 BC. while Romanian and Egyptian coven where formed in between 3000-2500 BC.]

I smiled and replied, "That is Phoenix mother."Kate looked at the skeleton of the phoenix in wonder as she asked"You are telling me that is a real phoenix."I gave a nod and continued "The Phoenix. It is said the Dark Fey began with her... evolved over centuries. I am the last of her descendants. Her blood runs through me. In my hands, hold the power of life and death... destruction and rebirth such that even if my body gets destroyed I will just come back to life.But the problem was a civil war broke out one side wanted peace while he other side wanted conquer the humans it ended up destroying our kind.I could not be killed so ended up going into slumber I just woke up a year ago."Kate looked and asked, "So that's why you are so powerful."

Kate was fascinated by all this as she questioned "So do you have any place to stay other than this small hut."I shook my head as she continued "You know can stay at my coven's home since staying out here is not a good idea."

I was thoughtful "Should I go with her or not.I really don't like the idea of being anywhere near that emo Edward Cullen or Brooding Bella swan. But what she said is true I can't stay here nor can I stay in the town with how I look."

I sighed and replied, "Well lead the way."While Kate took the lead I followed her by became invisible and flapped my wings and launched into the sky I noticed due to my strength being enhanced I could easily follow Kate.It didn't take long for us to Denali coven's home I landed next to Kate who was slightly startled by the sudden appearance I was about to laugh but the death glare from Kate shut me up.

We were now in front of Denali covens home I was sure our arrival was noticed by all the members of the coven when all of them came out Tanya who saw me shouted, "Kate what is that thing next to you."I yelled in irritation "Hey I am not a thing."

Kate gave Tanya a glare and said "Yes Tanya don't call him a thing."Tanya seeing her sister being protective of this person understood he was Kate's mate as she apologetically said"I am sorry your appearance caught me off guard."While Elezar and Carmen looked at me with fascination while Irina looked surprised.

Elezar looked at Kate and questioned, "Kate can you please explain who this stranger is."Kate smiled and replied, "This is Eragon, and don't worry he is not a threat."Elezar and Carmen had already guessed this was Kate's mate while they wanted know what he was as Elezar gestured to come in as he said "Well we will talk about this inside."
