21 The Fiancee

Twenty-five years ago, Grandpa Go and Grandma Tan accidentally met at a function hosted by an acquaintance of both of them. Grandma Tan's husband was still alive. So they all chatted for the sake of the good old times.

Grandma Tan and Grandpa Go had a pretty good conversation. They mainly talked about the good old times and how they were so in love with each other back then but married other people.

They reminisced about how they were not fated to be together. However, it did not stop them from playing matchmakers instead. They figured that if they were not destined to be together, then maybe their descendants were... There was just one issue with their idea; they couldn't match-make their children since both had their own families already.

This was how Jeff got involved, with him ending up with a fiancée at birth.

Jeff's mother recently gave birth to him, but on the other hand, Mrs. Tan's son had no children yet.

They decided that Grandma Tan's first Granddaughter would be Jeff's future wife. So the agreement was signed, stamped, and delivered.

Three years passed, and there were still no grandchildren on Mrs. Tan's side of the family. Her only son Albert Tan was not interested in having a child with his current wife; he was doing everything in his power not to get her pregnant.

He would always go out of the country for business staying months at a time, leaving his wife all alone at home. He did not want to have a child with his wife because he loved another woman but couldn't marry her...

But one day, Albert Tan's wife had eventually gotten pregnant. Grandpa Go and Grandma Tan were elated to hear this news. They were both praying that she gave birth to a baby girl, so their agreement and dreams of becoming in-laws could be fulfilled.

Albert Tan's wife gave birth to a baby girl, but she died right after her delivery due to her poor health, leaving a motherless child named Claudia Tan...

===

Claudia was raised overseas by her grandmother, occasionally spending holidays in Asia. During one of her holidays when she was around 16 years of age, a relative invited her to a famous "Diva" concert in the country.

They were seated at the front "VIP" section. That's when she saw a goddess, the most beautiful woman in the country, and rumor was that she was still single. Claudia grew up motherless and secretly longed for a mother since her father never remarried after her mother's death.

Claudia hatched a plan, and she will need to introduce this lady to her father. Who knew, if they hit it off, she could become her stepmother in the future. So, with Claudia's help and encouragement, Albert Tan & Sophia became husband and wife...

==,

Grandmother Tan was now a widow and had been living abroad all these years. However, she ever, she recently returned to the country to attend her son's wedding to a celebrity named 'Sophia.' Grandmother Tan accepted Sophia without malice; the only thing that mattered to her was for her son and granddaughter to be happy.

The original plan was after the wedding, grandmother Tan and Claudia would be going back overseas. But, Sophia talked them into staying in Asia, and grandmother Tan and Claudia wholeheartedly accepted. With the wedding on social media and television, it was easy for the P.I. To locate grandmother Tan and report it to Jeff.

Jeff was fully prepared for this meeting, ready to make all kinds of excuses to stall for time, at least four years minimum, or however long it took to convince Ann. He will bid his time, not make any contact with his wife, but help her along the way to have a smooth path towards her dreams. At the same time, he will find all the faults that he can with this girl (fiancée) to cancel the marriage agreement.

When Jeff arrived at the meeting, he was greeted by Mrs. Tan and Claudia, who were now 17 years old. Claudia was not interested in marrying an older guy; she already had a crush on one of her stepmother's agency trainees.

Therefore, it made it much easier for Jeff when Claudia herself made an excuse that she was still too young to get married and wanted to wait until she turned 21, and then they will see from there.

She continued by saying, "We don't need to announce our engagement, for now. We can wait until the time comes if that's alright with you?" Claudia looked at Jeff with contempt in her eyes.

Jeff couldn't believe his luck; he quickly replied, "That's fine with me, and I have no issue with that whatsoever."

"If there's no issue between the parties, I will go along with that." So replied Mrs. Tan. She then turned her attention to her granddaughter and asked, "Claudia, this is what you want, right?"

"Yes!" Claudia replied in a heartbeat.

Jeff left in a hurry to inform his grandfather of the result of their meeting. He couldn't believe what had just happened, and he got his wish, 4 years of freedom; until then, he didn't have to deal with this "fiancée." He was so happy that he was practically jumping with joy.

When the time comes that they will need to announce their engagement while he was already a married person, only then will the dilemma arise…
