44 The Hatchery(4)
'Ok...what to do now?'
At the moment, I was seriously cornered. A gaping hole of possible death behind me, and a blood-thirsty spider to my front. Seriously fantasy world, you pull no punches huh.
Right now, the spider was simply standing there, possibly gauging my reaction. I guess it's just as wary of me as I am of it. I mean it's understandable, considering I dodged most of its assaults, how it knows that is beyond me.
Ok.
I have a few options to go by:
1). Fight my way outta here.
2). Take my chances and escape down this hole here
3). Sit here and die
Heck if I am going with option 3! I didn't come down here to die so that's a no.
Option 1 seems plausible, but my body is soo not up to peak condition right now. Frankly, I was still in pain and it's possible my wounds can get even worse from here on out. There was something else, I don't know all that this guy here has up its sleeve. I mean if the littler ones had smarts and tactics, what could this guy have, probably full-blown war potential for all I know. And based on the colors of my Illusory sense, it seems this guy has waaaay more poison than the others, even a tiny dot of it inside of me could kill me asap.
'Crap, then I'm even way more at a disadvantage than I thought..'
added with these guys' speed that could possibly be faster than me(Let me salvage the little of my pride I have left thank you) wouldn't this guy be an ultimate evolved form of the others...Yikes.
Then there's option 2, I can book it and go down this hole here, but I don't know what's down there. Come to think of it, this guy here came from down there right? That means I can't rule out the possibility that there are more big guys like this one just waiting for lil ol me to devour…(AGGGH NO I DON'T TASTE GOOD...at least I don't think so….huh) but I can't rule out papa being down there either, he could have slipped passed them somehow, or worse yet, possibly been kidnapped and set deeper into their spider layer. If that's the case then...I had no choice.
HERE WE GOOOOUWAAAAAH!???!??!
Just as I was about to make my way down there, a flash of purple evaded my senses, practically blinding me in a sea of purple pheromones. My skin felt alive as I sensed the impending danger I was in. Reflectively, I sidestepped and bolted into a nearby wall.
*BAM!!*
"UAGH!!" I immediately clamped my mouth shut.
'Gah! I forgot how cramped the walls are in here'
Though some tunnels were narrow, this was a tad bit wider than the others but it still posed cramped wall space. I felt another wave of foreboding,
'Again! You don't let up, do you? Was your pride broken or something? How do you think I felt when my match speed was broken ya knoooow!'
*FWOOOSH*
A more powerful strike than the last, how did I know? IT'S BECAUSE I DODGED THE DANG THING YA KNOW!? And let me tell ya, I would have courted death real quick had I gotten hit by the thing. It practically bashed through the wall like it was a stack of blocks!
In that quick instant, had I not griped the walls for dear life, and hoisted myself towards the ceiling, using the added momentum of my falling, I dove straight behind the guy, tumbling on the ground hard.
'Ooof, man that hurts like heck. So much for option 2, now I have no choice but to go with option 1. '
I braced myself for the next attack, though I've been lucky so far thanks to illusory sense, it was seriously getting harder to actually follow this battle. Remember illusory sense heightened most of my senses, but I still can't actually see the spide itself therefore I'm unable to gauge what the spider is doing.
I've been relying on my sensitive skin to gauge when the guy is attacking, If I think about what advantages I have, it'd be little. I can probably get the upper hand in terms of combat power, and also magical power since they don't seem to have an affinity.
Ok! This should be a worst-case scenario, right? So I should use magic right, I mean since fire is their weakness, I should utilize it like no other.
ALRIGHT HERE WE GOOOOOooooo
*SPLOOT*
oooooor not, suddenly something sticky was wrapped around my hand,
What the HEEEEEEEAAAAAH!!!!!"
Like a ragdoll, my body was forcibly strung along,
*BANG* *Tak Tak*

" UUUUUUUAGH!?"
My body bashing into a nearby wall, my eyes caught bursts of various lights and my body writhed in pain, I felt my spine tense under the massive impact. I slumped to the ground. Something dripped from between my mouth, and my moth oozed with the taste of iron.
"Cough Cough" I need to get up now or else…
but it wasn't done with me, once again my body was jerked along and I met another wall my face pounded into the hard tunnel's wall, The blow knocking me out for a couple of seconds. I saw various blobs of lights, as my face throbbed from intense pain.
*Plop* * Plop*
"Crap"
I quickly wiped the blood before it dripped on the ground and scrambled to get back on foot. Various rocks crumbled from the ceiling. That would have been a devastating situation had it occurred. This guy is practically bringing the house down, no pun intended.
That attack seriously ruined my concentration with the illusory sense, so everything's completely dark now.
This sticky stuff on my hand must be that guy's web. They can do that? what the heck what are you some marvel superhero who can spray webs with a simple flick or something. Well, it is a spider though, but for it to quickly splurt a web-like that especially when you know where it comes from, what does it have eyes in the back of its head or something?
AAAGH ITS DOIING IT AGAAAAAIN!!!.
That's it! I'm not going to let you string me along everywhere stupid spider, my heart can't take t much longer NO DARN PUN INTENDED!!!

From the momentum, I quickly twisted my body and in a flash bashed my heel into the spider's body.
"SCRAAAAH"
*BOOM*
A sharp piercing cry escaped from its mouth added with the loud sound of the body meets wall collision course.
Hahaha, how'd you like that Mr spider huh huh! I took all your punches and ate them for lunch dinner and breakfast, all were devastatingly painful to eat but yet. Score 1 Yuiji.
As I celebrated I felt a sharp pain accent my ankle.
'Oof, That actually does kinda hurt though. That guy's carapace was super hard, almost like a sturdy brick house or something.'
I also felt something a bit weird too kinda felt like…...a wind barrier or something, might be my imagination.
Rocks crumbled as the Arahcna uplifted itself, it seemed to be preparing to do something but I couldn't tell what until I was too late.
Hey, it got up pretty quickly huh? Well, no use standing around like an idiot, time for another big kick from me.
*WHAM* *WHACK*
With repetitive kicks and punches, I knocked the thing around like a ball, its body once again colliding into another tunnel wall.
hahaha, See how you like it. Now we're even.
But though I celebrated, I couldn't shake the odd feeling, like a building was about to collapse or something. With every punch and kick it felt as though my body was hitting something hard. And then it was that weird sensation, it felt like wind again. I thought it was just my imagination but now I'm about 80% sure that was indeed wind I felt from it.
I won't know until I'm 100% sure, I never make a move until I'm super duper certain of it, Once it gets up I'll attack it once more.
Just as I was waiting for it, It got up and I immediately dashed forward towards the purple blob. I raised my fist ready to deliver a good punch but then..
'Hey… what's it doing?…'
The Arachna was acting weird.
Through my Illusory sense it seemed to be swaying around or something. Suddenly I saw something from the center of the blob of purple. It was actually a much darker shade than the last.
The colors changed, from a dark purple to green, and finally a mixture of green and orange.
'What? What is that? For some reason, I feel like I should blo-"
*SPLUUUUURT*
"KYAAAAAAAAAAH"
Suddenly I felt a blast of seeping hot goo sprung all over me, It caught me so much by surprise that I screeched in shock.
'iT BURNS IT BURNS IT BURRRRRRNS'
I rolled over the ground and clung to my body desperately. My face, my arms my legs everything was burning. It felt as if my skin was melting. The searing sensation was so intense that I couldn't even talk as I desperately tried to get it off.
The hot liquid substance seeped into my closed eyes lids and I could tell I would no longer see anymore. Some even got into my mouth, and my tongue swelled up making me unable to even talk anymore.
I felt myself slipping into an endless abyss repeatedly. I bit my swollen tongue to snap out of it.
As clung to what little bit of consciousness I could, I could barely see the purple essence of the Arachna slowly coming towards me.
Was it waiting for me to die? Perhaps coming to deliver the final blow?

'I...Need...to….'
"MMMMGH HELLFARE!!"
With a loud cry, I managed to seep out a horrible excuse of a chant before my tongue could no longer procure speech. I evoked a massive sea of flames to cover my entire body with Azure flames.
*SCREEEE*
Sensing the massive increase in heat, the Arahcna scrambled backward a good distance away from me. The cave was alight with light as flames danced around me, searing the poison off of me. A low sizzling could be heard.
My skin felt terribly numb, I lost feeling in both my arms and legs.
'Paralysis? These guys seriously have that now? Could it have been added with the poison as well? But why was it so hot, how was it burning me?'
As I thought this I tried to move my fingers and hands, but it felt as if my muscles were frozen, and a massive throb coursed through me. My heart pounded and I felt a sensation of dizziness.
'Was it a fire affinity? No, I need to think about how to get out of this situation right now before it's too late'
No matter how much I tried to move, my body would t listen to me.
Is this it, was this seriously the end of the line for me? I wanted to find papa, that's why I came down here and yet things just keep screwing up for me, I'm always doing stupid things, always, I can never do anything right.
A dark painful feeling welled itself in my heart. I didnt know what was feeling, but a sense of panic began to set in.
*STAB*
"!?!?!?!?"
Mercilessly, the spider dug its sharp claw-like legs into my paralyzed arm, I was too frozen to even cry out in pain. Through my Illusory sense another dark blob of the purple could be seen festering and growing at its center.
It was about to shoot another dose.
'No No No I can't just give up now, come one Yuiji, you got this!"
"I-I'll just figure it out like before right., yea I'll figure it out and all will be well haha. I just need to be patient just like mom said, I just need another one of my operations'
I racked my brain as quickly as I could, I was never a genius at things, nor have I ever use my brain to this capacity before, but I needed to think of something before this guy evokes that stuff again.
'Come on come on, magic grimoires, um universal affinities, magi channeling, Internalists, Externalists um…'
'Wait..THERE'S THAT!!'
Ok, this is gonna be tough but I might be able to pull this off. I chanted a small spell inside my head. Drastically, I could feel the depletion of my Magitoms drop, and I felt so lightheaded I almost passed out.
By then the large blob at the Arahcnas center that was forming was now ready to fire.
I made a count down.

NOW!!!!.
Barely a twitch of my fingers, I harnessed a ball of flames the size of the palm of my hands and immediately shot it towards the spider. However, I was even luckier than I thought, Through my Illusory sense I could see my magic inside of its body.
Just as it was about to spray more of its nasty liquid.
<Combustional Blast>
I clenched my fingers and suddenly...
*BOOOOOOOOOOOOM*
A monstrous explosion resounded and the cave ignited in a sea of flames and spider guts, most splashing on me as I was still paralyzed. Talk about a bad shower day ya know.
"Huff..huff"
'I won...I actually beat it…'
I checked my surroundings just to be sure, but I could no longer see the spider anymore through my senses. I relaxed. I don't know if any more were coming with all the noise, I might be lucky and they could have run away. Anyway, I don't think my life is in danger right now, just super numb though.
Maybe that stuff wasn't deadly poison but a paralysis liquid. Not sure why it was hot though. I hope this won't affect me like snake poison or something. But if it's just paralysis, then it should wear off in the long run...I hope.
But despite all the worrying…... YUIJI SCORE AGAIN HAHA, did you see that mom, all my lessons paid off hahaha, I did it~ I did it~ whoo hoo I did it!~
If I could dance I would be doing it right now, but who cares I DID IT HAHAHA!!!
