I Accidentally Joined The Hero's Party

Living life as a normal high school student, a girl suddenly dies due to unknown circumstances. She is reborn into a new world that seems akin to a novel she once read filled with magic, ranked monsters, and kingdoms alike. She decides to live her new life in her new home: the notorious Moon Forest peacefully and embrace her new identity Yuiji, one who is not human but a mythical creature. However as time passed, her once “calm life” turns turbulent when she meets the main protagonist of the novel, the future hero. This along with the sudden disappearance of her father and the start of the main storyline causes her to have no choice but to venture out of her “haven” and interact with the unknown. With constant run-ins with the handsome and earnest hero who is quite fascinated by her, his bumbling party members who are quite eccentric, and the looming stench of blood and war brewing along the horizon, can Yuiji find her father amidst the chaos? And if she does find him, can she keep herself sane? (Note: there may be some offensive things here so don't read if ya can't take it.)Also this cover is not mine and I will happily take it down if the owner of this art steps up :) Anyways hope you enjoy!

"WAAAH haha!" do not misunderstand me, I wasn't laughing because of some well-thought-out joke, nope it's because I'm being chased by a whole army of spiders! The thought is so fantasy-like I couldn't help but laugh.

I looked behind me, thousands of purple eyes glaring at me in the pitch darkness. I shivered, my skin covered in goosebumps. I reeeaally want to cry right now ahaha but only laughter seems to be escaping my mouth. Talk about a weird habit huh. What's worse is I can't seem to shake the bugs off, they are pretty fast!

OH, THE SHAME! My speed was my pride and joy in this world, but now it's being crushed by some 8 legged venom harborers, they are literally matching my fastest speed! Hnnngh I just wanted to find papa, not be in some adventure flick!

I looked behind me once more, this time I could see their sharp spiny legs peeking from the darkness, into the perimeter of where my light source was. Come now spiders, can't you spare a fellow spider lover! I even had a spider friend named Kumo, though its size was like 20 times smaller than you all though, you'd love him! We got along quite well ya know.

*Scree* I flinched as I felt something crawling up my arm. My eyes spotted a small Arachna. It must have fallen from the ceiling.

*Smack* I immediately smashed it with my free hand before dusting its crushed body on my clothing.

[Mono 1]: So much for spider lover…

Having sensed the death f its fellow brethren, the spiders screeched in a frenzy, They picked up the pace. Their eyes seemed to be scorching with odium as they were practically on my heels now.

"Ah Ah ahaha wait t-that was just an accident ya know, I was simply startled!" I felt another small spider, this time crawling on my face. Once again I struck it, a loud pang reverberating throughout the cave.

'....Oh…...ummmm….lets just keep running!' I thought quickly.

The dark jagged tunnels expanded and retracted as I weaved and coiled through them, utilizing my flame to light my path. My heart was thumping in pure terror. I didn't want to look back anymore, It literally felt like they were breathing down my neck.

'Can spiders even breathe though? Wait not important!' What was important was that I was at a major disadvantage. I could feel my sight blurring a bit, despite that I kept running. They made no sound, you'd think that with those sharp thingies thumping the ground, something would ring out ya know, but nope they were suuuper quiet.

I couldn't really feel their presence either, it was like they were vanishing despite me seeing them right there. Was this some sort of stealth spell, something that can evade even my senses? Nooo! come onnn I trained way too hard to be at such a disadvantage like this.

And yet here I am running for my life. I knew that If I tripped or stumbled for even a second my life would end. And these tunnels were practically endless I felt like I've been running for what seems like hours ya know.

I could try and burn them up, but that would be pointless considering not too long ago I was in a fight for my life against two strong wolves! I'm pretty much almost suffering from Magi-depletion. My best bet is to run away until my magic can replenish itself.

Another thing was, they were resistant to fire! I was literally at a dead end with these things. And fighting ALL them would be stupid. Yep, let's just conserve my magic for now! Yep geinus plan Yuiji!

Mono 1: well that's impossible BECAUSE YOU KEEP USING IT YA IDIOT!

' AGH!…. I KNOW I KNOW, but if I don't use it how will I see, I need light ya know!'

Then my steps halted.

' ah….ha...ha….really….'

I never really considered myself lady luck, but I did felt fortunate for some things. But lately, things really haven't been going well for me at all...

It was a dead end. Yep, I was face to face with a good ol thick wall that greeted me quite politely. 'Wow you have such twisted manners Mr wall, but thanks to you MY LIFE IS ABOUT TO END!!" I screamed internally.

I turned around, endless streams of glowing eyes were now boring into me. I stumbled back against the wall. ' I can't die now, I need to find papa, If I die, then who will take care of him?" One spider, a medium-sized one, took the lead.

In the still atmosphere, I was able to see fully how these things looked. It was about the size of a small dog, while the little ones were about the size of my hand. They were a dark shade of purple almost close to black, while their underbelly was a light shade of blue. The smaller ones were a lot lighter than the medium Arachnas.

Then they all simultaneously rushed towards me, I clenched my eyes shut and reflectively tossed my hand forward to push them away. But then I heard a loud screech.

*SCREEEEEE*

'Huh?' I peeked my eyes opened and saw one of the medium-sized Arachna squirming as it burned by my blue flames. 'Wah?.. weren't they resistant to fire so why?"

The other spiders seemed confused. Just in case I chanted a small low-level spell. "Fireball!" I directed it towards the ground, trying to draw a line between them and me. It sizzled on the cave grounds and illuminated the tunnel in blue light.

The far distant spiders that finally caught up continued forward and ran into the fire.

*SCREEEEE* *SCREEE*

More were burned by my flames and crumpled in tiny balls, the smaller ones simply turned to dust and vanished. A disgusting smell filtered through the cave. Not at all appetizing to smell.

I tilted my head. Their repeated movements continued on and on, it was as if they couldn't see the flames. 'Huh are they stupid or something….why do they keep…'

I peered closer at some of the smarter ones that stayed at bay and my eyes widened. Their purple eyes looked misty, almost faded.

'Are they….blind?' I thought. I was completely thunderstruck. These fantasy spiders were a heck of a lot different from earth. Earth spiders had eyes to see in the dark, that's why they love dark spaces so much, yet these things couldn't see! That's why they were stupidly running in my flames!

I threw a couple more flames and completely sealed myself off from the spiders, loud screeching continuing. I peeked a little from the cracks and saw them scurrying away.

I slumped down and sighed with relief. I was safe….for now.
