Chapter 5: So They Are Real

It didn't take long for Gale to see just how great it was to have a large amount of capital. Within an hour, Gale had already doubled his original amount to $137k.

After a couple more hours of trading, Gale sat back in his chair and stared at the screen.

It Was now 12:30 Pm, meaning he had pretty much used all his notes that were written down.

Without wasting any time, Gale transferred 80% of what he earned into his bank account.

[Ding! Your Account xxxx-xxxx-xxx-2362 Has received $523,912.58 New balance- $573,382.23]

"Let's go!" Gale shouted, looking at the notification.

Just as he was celebrating, his phone started ringing.

Picking the phone, Gale answered: "Hello, who's this?"

"Excuse me, are you Gale Rodman?" A sweet female voice came out from the phone.

"Yes"

"Excellent, Sir; your account assets are enough for you to be moved into a special high-yield savings account. At the same time, you also now qualify 3% cashback credit card on ALL purchases." The voice said happily.

After all, if they could convince Gale to move his money into the account and get the credit card, they would have a nice bonus at the end of the month waiting for them.

Hearing this Gale couldn't help but raise an eyebrow. While he has heard of such things, he once asked the bank teller if they were real and was told they weren't.

Looks like something won't show until you become somewhat rich

"It's no problem. I can stop by tomorrow and do it." Gale happily said.

No wonder most wealthy people don't go broke. They're making money at all times, even when it's in the bank.

"All right, thank you, I'll be there waiting for you tomorrow." The female voice said sweetly.

After a couple more pleasantries Gale finally ended the call and leaned back on his couch.

For the First time in his life, he felt important, besides his aunt and Kacey, no one ever really called him.

And if Someone did call him, it was either a scam call or one of his workplaces asking him to come in to help out.

"Well, enough of that, let's get a move on." Gale said standing up.

Since it was only around 1 pm, he might as well go to the hospital and get the surgery scheduled.

Driving at 1 pm was an exciting experience for Gale, while it was busy, it wasn't as busy when he usually got off his supermarket job.

Soon he reached the hospital, signed in, and went to talk to his mothers' doctor. After coming here for a couple of years, Gale practically knew his mothers floor like the back of his hand.

Knocking on the Door, Gale heard a voice telling him to come in.

"Ah, Gale, nice to see you again. Weren't you here yesterday? What brings you here today?" Dr.Cal, the General doctor on this floor, asked him.

"Hey Dr.Cal, I'm wondering if it's still possible to do that surgery you told me about, the one that could wake my mother up." Gale asked, calmly closing the door.

"Oh, that, well the surgery can still be done, but no one at this hospital has ever done it before, so the risk is still pretty high, but I do know a couple of doctors who could perform it, the price maybe a bit out of your range." Dr. Cal said, looking at the files of Gale's mother.

Though in his heart he was a little happy the young boy would finally take the chance to wake his mother up.

"No problem, please I hope the operation is done as soon as possible," Gale said With a smile, his mother was finally gonna wake up.

'Wait a minute, I should get everything ready for her when she wakes up' Gale suddenly thought.

His apartment was a one-bedroom and he had to share the bathroom so which meant he would have to buy a new place for his mom once she was released from the hospital.

'Aunt and Kacey can also live there' Gale thought, remembering the ones who helped when he needed it the most.

'Plus it would be best for both of them to lean on each other for help'

Gale thought thinking about how both his aunt and mother can live together, since they're best friends.

Gale's Aunt isn't actually his blood-related aunt but his mother's best friend from childhood all the way to now.

After talking a little bit more about what to expect, the topic of price finally came up.

"So Gale as I said since when inviting this doctor and borrowing some of the equipment, the price is well over the normal amount then a regular surgery, are you sure you can afford it?" Dr. Cal asked Gale.

While he was happy the boy finally decided to move in with the surgery after five years, he also understood Gal's living conditions quite well.

But he was sure the boy must've known the surgery would be expensive, that would be one the reasons he was here today because he was confident in paying it all off.

"Don't worry Dr.Cal I can even put down a surgical deposit, I just need you to calculate everything and I'll pay it. Also, can my mothers' room be moved to a private one?"

"No problem that can be done today, I'll have someone email you the estimated cost." Dr.Cal said happily.

Breathing a sigh of relief, Gale stood up and finally exchanged his goodbye with Dr.Cal before leaving and visiting his mother's room.

Entering his mother's rooms, Gale drew the curtains and talked to his mother.

"Well mom good news I finally have enough money for the Surgery so you should be waking up soon, I also have a surprise for you when you do wake up.'' Gale said softly to his mom while holding her hand.

After a few more minutes of talking, Gale finally left.

Not seeing his mother's pinky twitch.

In his car, Gale thought about the next couple of things he needed to do, while it was cool and all making all that money through the forex, he needed to start using a company as the taxes were personally starting to kill him.

So that was his next plan, to start a hedge fund that specializes in trading currency, he had the capital, plus a couple of plans on how to better use his one-day simulation power.

At the same time, he could finally start developing some financial power that can protect him and everyone he cares about.

"All right that call be saved for tomorrow, might as well give aunt a surprise visit." Gale said starting up his car.

After a 20-minute drive down the highway Gale finally reached his aunt's house, it was a normal 3 bedroom 2 bath house in a better part of L.A, better than his that's for sure.

Getting out of his car Gale knocked on the door.

The door opened and revealed a young woman with jet-black hair, a slim face, and the body of a model.

'Dam' Was the only thought that went through Gales' mind as he saw her.

It was his 'cousin' Kacey, his aunt's only eldest daughter who was two years younger than him and was currently going to college.

They used to be close until Gale had started working and would rarely have any time to visit her and most of the time she herself wasn't home since she was also working a job and going to college.

"Gale!" Kacey screamed as she jumped over and hugged him.

'Well, she's grown even more' Gale thought as he felt the two large lumps on his chest.

"Long time no see Kacey, it's been a couple of months right?" Gale said happily as he came in.

"Its sure has why haven't you replied to any of my texts? I've been worried about you." Kacey said as she lead Gale to the living room, while still hugging his hand.

"It's been a pretty busy month, besides how's college treating you?" Gale said immediately changing the subject.

The reason why he avoided texting and meeting up with her was that he somewhat lacked the confidence to be around her.

After all, he turned out to be the guy who would probably work at a fast food and supermarket place all his life, the same people who he swore to never become.

While she would become a college graduate and get a good job and eventually marry somehow and have kids.

Just thinking of that made Gale shudder.

"I now understand why so many people drop out every year, it's just a different type of stress, plus for some reason, my schedule is full of math classes this whole semester, You'd be surprised by the amount times I just felt like dropping out you know." Kacey said leaning her body onto Gale.

"Common you can do it I believe in you, besides you'll probably be the first college graduate in your family! Just think about how cool that'll be, you'll be paving the way for your sister." Gale said as he put his arms around her shoulder and looked down at her.

"Thanks, I really appreciate it." Kacey said with a small laugh, staring into Gale's eyes.

They were close, closer than most cousins, but then again they weren't really blood-related.

Looking at her Gale couldn't but think of that night, the night where they almost...
