Chapter 2: Cant Take it Anymore!

Sitting on his bed, Gale sat there as he remembered what had happened last night.

The system, his mom dying in four years, day trading, and finally, him dying in a car crash.

"Get it together Gale. Life moves on, plus with the system, it shouldn't take long before my life dramatically changes.." Gale said, looking at the time. It was 6 am in the morning, meaning that he had an hour left before he headed to his first job at the supermarket.

That was his full-time job that he usually did every day but Sunday from 7 am to 5 pm before heading to his part-time job at a fast food joint at 6 pm all the way to closing at 1 am before coming home and sleeping.

"I can pretty much lower my hours from my second job and even maybe outright quit it, and start going to the library for some basic forex trading books and terminology. I should also get a laptop once I finish my shift at the grocery store…." Soon Gale went on and on about his big plans for the day that gave him hope for a better future.

It had been a while since he had seen any hope of getting out of the current life cycle he was trapped in.

After a quick oatmeal breakfast which was different from the usual ramen noodles and candy that he had in mourning, Gale made his way to work.

Leaving his apartment and entering the parking lot, Gale entered an old beat-up 2006 Nissan Altima that he bought during his senior year of high school.

Something he was very proud of, as this was his only way of transportation as his mom's car was totaled and all the money earned from that went into paying off most of the hospital bills and surgeries at the time.

Turning on the Radio, Gale went to a specific financial channel that talked about what the hottest stocks at the time were and their upcoming predictions of the stock market, as well as what happened the week before.

Even if he didn't understand most of what they were talking about Gale still wanted to start his learning early, after all his future was at stake.

And soon a short 15 minutes later Gale arrived at work.

"Well here we go, hopefully in the next month I'll never have to come to this place again." Gale said leaving the employee parking space as he put on his workers' vest.

Entering what he liked to call his own personal hell.

"Cya on Monday Gale." A chubby cart pusher said walking into the entrance pushing carts.

"Cya on Monday Tim." Gale dryly replied as he was finally leaving his shift.

After working for ten hours and dealing with all sorts of customers and employees, Gale was ready to call it day.

As the head cashier in the front-end department, he was constantly being called by everyone for help, and sometimes even having to deal with rude customers.

Unfortunately in an hour, another job awaited him, probably making today one of the most exhausting days in his life.

Mainly because he was distracted by the thoughts of the life simulator system and the urge to just start another simulation.

Of course, he held back as he knew that each simulation was more precious than gold plus, he had made up his mind on putting in his two weeks at his second job today.

Arriving at his second job Gale took a deep breath and reminded himself that he wouldn't be here for much longer.

While his first job could be called a personal hell, his second job could be called his personal asylum, as every day there the assignment manager made it almost impossible for him not to just outright snap at her.

"Well, well, Look who finally decided to show up? About damn time." An overweight lady said, sitting behind the register.

It was Tam, the assistant manager, who got the job, because she was doing the box sexual favors.

Gale had even caught them making out in the freezer room on multiple occasions.

The worst part was that they were married to different people and had kids.

'I'm not even late' Gale thought. His shift started at 6 pm and he just walked in at 5:55 pm.

Without even glancing at the woman, Gale walked to the back and started putting on his apron.

This was a pizza joint meaning Saturdays were one of their busiest times, meaning it would practically be rush hour all day with pretty much no breaks in sight as the place was pretty understaffed.

Putting on some gloves Gale got on the pizza line and started to help out make some pizzas.

There were only two pizza makers, including him, and the 15yr old boy who had started last week.

Just like the rest, he was probably lured by the thought of free food, and good money as the job paid $15/hr for teenagers and $17/hr for anyone over 18.

Unfortunately, just like rest, Gale could tell the boy would be out of here within a week or so and never come back.

After all, the work atmosphere wasn't the best as the assistant manager never helped but sat behind the cashier on her phone, and everyone was constantly lamenting about how they ended up working at a pizza place in the end.

Heck, even Gale lost interest in talking and helping the new hires after his first year since they'd all just eventually leave one day and never come back.

There was even one new hire that said the whole place reeked of despair and regret, telling him to quit before he found himself working there for 10 years with no sign of quitting.

Thinking about that hire, Gale mentally chuckled, they had actually gotten along really well with one of the past hires, there were even signs that they could become more than just friends and co-workers.

He had even got a very small crush on her that made coming into work almost bearable.

Unfortunately, something happened and she just left without ever coming back. She had even blocked him saying that she didn't want to remember anyone from there and to only call her if he ever quit that place.

Sadly four years later he never called as he was still stuck in the asylum.

There was total silence, even when the drivers came in they didn't say anything but just grabbed their boxes and left.

And since it was a Saturday, most people would instead order online or do a pickup instead of coming in the store and getting their food, it was busy as can be for them.

Looking at the time an hour had passed and the orders had not slowed down.

Looking at the sweating boy Gale finally couldn't hold it anymore and said: " You can go take your 15 I got it."

The boy immediately looked up at Gale in delight, he had already been working for at least three hours, but the assistant manager had yet to let him go.

"Since when do you decide who can go on break or not? Are you the manager?" Tam immediately asked in a snappy voice

"No I'm not the manager, but he has the right to take a 15 every three hours since he's underage. Plus he leaves in like an hour, and I'm pretty sure he hasn't gotten a break yet" Gale said, not even looking back.

Just looking at that woman might make him snap, among the things he had to go through because of her.

"BUT DID I SAY HE COULD TAKE A BREAK?" Tam thundered.

At that moment, a calm rage finally consumed Gale's thoughts as he uttered words he had wet dreams of saying.

"I quit."

The moment those words were said, everyone turned their heads at Gale.

The drivers who were also looking at the fight in interest, Tam who had a shocked expression, and the boy who he had secretly made plans to not come back after tonight.

After all, he was overworked for three straight hours and hadn't even gotten a single water break, and the moment he even stopped moving his hands for a second Tam would immediately look over his direction.

"Wait, no, no, YOU CAN'T QUIT!" Tam immediately yelled going after Gale as he was walking right out the door after dropping his apron.

Opening the door, Gale took a look at everyone in there.

The drivers with miserable faces filled with hopelessness as they've given up on trying to achieve anything, Tam his manager screaming at him, and the teenage boy who had a shocked expression

"I honestly hope I never see any of you again." And with that, the door closed.

Immediately the boy started taking off his apron.

Tam who saw this, immediately blocked his path and started screaming like a croak: "WHERE DO YOU THINK YOUR GOING?! GO BACK ON THE LINE AND START MAKING SOME FUCKIN PIZZAS!" Tam Screamed.

The Boy pushed Tam away and headed for the door, and just as he was about to leave, he turned around to face Tam.

"Worst job ever, and also, one of the delivery guys has a video of you giving the manager head." The boy said and immediately darted.

"How'd he know?" One of the delivery guys said as everyone turned to him.

"GIVE ME THAT PHONE!" Tam yelled as she rammed into the guy.

"GET OFF ME, YOU SLUT!" The man yelled as the two started rolling around for the phone.

Gale watched all of this as from his mirror he drove away.
