This Brian was quite smart and not too stupid. Unfortunately, they were destined to be on the opposing side because of Anna's relationship and Brian's current position.

Those killed by their assistance would have the ice element or the lightning element left. Not to mention, there were also her own spoils, which she definitely recognize because of the plant elements left.

Jake and Lucy were both fire elements, so she would not target the big mutated animals' corpse that only has fire burn. It was not so easy to differentiate them.
