CH.4 Moral

No one had so much as opened their mouth to speak, the atmosphere was tense enough in the room without provoking it, so no one wanted to change that. After the meal tea was served to all one hundred saviors and the royal family, and the king took a sip of his tea before welcoming the heroes again. At this point, Alen had had enough of the word hero it was like they were trying to convince them to accept the roles given to them.

But he also had a burning suspicion in the back of his mind, but he had decided not to do anything reckless for now. The king introduced himself and all three of his daughters from oldest to youngest, respectively: Janet, Lily, and Sakura. Janet the oldest seemed a bit masculine although she was in a dress her muscles had a clear distinct shape while the rest of the sisters had pretty pink hair that complimented their beautiful green eyes.

Next, the king explained the situation leading to all this, he explained that the demon lord has awakened and is leading his army towards the Nation although the goal is still unknown the king suspects that the former wants to kill the human race, and this triggered a holy war where all the Nations joined forces to battle against the forces of evil.

Since the kingdom of Noel was far to the west the other Nations had agreed to let them summon and train the heroes who were also known as saviors, before sending reinforcements back to the allied nations.

"Wait a minute Mr. King, if what you've said is true then there is no match for this thing. Your world has magic but where we are from there's no such thing, we are just ordinary kids who barely managed to survive college now you're telling us to fight in a war against demons?!" One of the students complained as panic steadily crept up on him.

"Priest if you may," The king said raising his hand.

"The heroes summoned from another world are granted a blessing by the gods, during your summoning your body was infused with a huge amount of mana, for the natives of this world Mana is the essence of life it's what grants us power and allows us to cast magic spells and do various extraordinary things. In other words, mana is a source of pure power."

"And you heroes have been granted an extraordinary amount of Mana, although you may be weak now with a little bit of training you have the potential to surpass the natives and become the greatest and some of you might have already surpassed us."

"If you look at the bottom right corner of your view you'll see a small mark, if you focus on that you initiate something called status magic, status magic allows one to view their skills and keep track of their progress."

Doing as they were instructed the so-called savior opened their stats for the first time in this world, amazed by what they were seen most of them still couldn't accept this. although some thought of this as a blessing the majority weren't as open-minded, they had been dragged from their world and lives only to be made to fight a war.

"HAHAHAHA, this is amazing. I like this new world and it seems the gods of this place know true greatness when they see it, tell me priest what are these titles." A tall bald man asked with a devious smile on his face.

"The titles represent a selected class and job for example class might be accompanied by swordsman and job with a title that suits your current skills and stats" The head priest, who was an elderly man spoke his expression filled with excitement and anticipation.

"So, what does a title like great hero mean?"

Silence filled the hall as the head priest and some of the knights had an expression of awe and amazement.

"From your expressions, I can understand that Jack is the greatest among all the heroes," Jack said laughing with a smug expression on his face, he had already begun to look down at everyone in the hall. Suddenly someone stood up and stopped the commotion with a few words.

"I also have the title of the great hero."

"So do I"

"And me as well"

This came as a surprise to everyone in the room the head priest seemed confused and the same could be said about the king who had stood up from his chair. "Priest what is this!?" The king asked.

"A minute my lord," The head priest said as he stood in the middle of the hall, " If you possess the title of great hero please accompany me to the center," he said.

To everyone's surprise, they were more than five to be exact three boys and two girls, the head priest pointed his wooden cane at them and raised one hand.

"Appraiser" Suddenly the five individuals were covered by a faint green light and above their heads were display screens, showing their stats. The room was filled with noise as people couldn't believe the status of these five individuals.

: Strength 150, Agility 200, Intellect 300, Mana 890, Great hero 'Alice Rwondo': Class The sword maiden' LV1.

: Strength 200; Agility 100, 98, Mana 200, Great hero' Jack mo.': Class Ruin knight LV1

: Strength 250, Agility 150, Intellect 150, Mana 700, Great hero' Chris Kuzo': Class Holy Knight LV1.

: Strength 50, Agility 70, Intellect 400, Mana 980, Great hero Lamis Ned: Class Mage LV1.

The stats of the five people in front of them shocked everyone suddenly they could feel the pressure coming from these people their energy was cold, it felt like it was freezing their very bones, although it showed that even among them there seemed to be a power difference it didn't matter as everyone knew that these five people would lead the group.

Everyone seemed pleased with the results forgetting about the other ninety-five saviors and focusing on the five strongest in the room, the king stood up and was about to give a grand speech but before he could start Jack let out a roar.

"With you guys under my leadership, we will save this world from the demon king, and then li-"

"I REFUSE!" Before Jack could finish his sentence, he was interrupted by a boy with silky smooth black hair and a cherry-deep voice.

"Send me back to my world, I refuse to take part in a war that doesn't concern me," Alen said as he stood up from his chair and slowly walked over to the center of the room where the five great heroes were.

"So, you're saying it's okay to let the people in this world die, you would turn your back on someone in need of help? Chris said.

"Damn right, I will" Alen answered without hesitation.

"These people dragged me from my home and feed me bullsh*t that I'm some hero, well I don't care, SEND ME BACK!"

"Why are you so cruel, the people of this world need help please fellow heroes grant us your aid," Adam said.

" Cut the crap, do you know what their summoning magic did to my sister, how much damage it did to our friends and family or did the title of great hero screw up your brain? if you want to die do it yourself but don't lump us into your suicide mission just so you can satisfy your moral compass"!

Alen had managed to change the mood of everyone in the room all the other saviors who didn't want to participate in the war had all gathered behind him and now the room was split between three factions. The ones who wanted to save the world, the ones who wanted to go back to their world, and the ones who were confused about which side to pick.

The king looked at what was happening with a concerned look on his face.

"What are you acting up about, we're heroes remember. Don't you play any games, the good guys win by defeating the bad guys and we live happily ever after" Jack said as he walked towards Alen.

"Now shut the hell up and follow my lead, or do I need to kick your as*?"

"A game?" Alen walked over to one of the knights in the room and without asking took a sword from the knight's side, the Holy knight was confused he didn't know if he should allow his weapon to be taken like that but the one who took the weapon was a savior, he looked at the Commander of the holy knight's sir Zelda who told him to stand down.

"Do you know the difference between a game and reality, in this reality people die" Alen said with a calm yet sinister expression on his face.

"This is not a game, nothing about this is a game, the air, the food, the cloth we can feel all of it, and I'm willing to bet you we can feel pain as well."

"What are you going to do kill me, you saw my stats I can kill you three times in a blink of an eye"

"Yes, the stats, I saw them, but you haven't seen mine," Alen said, this sentence alone had instilled fear in Jack all that confidence had washed away and now all he could think of was how strong this guy was in front of him.

The priest cast appraiser magic and a gentle green light illuminated Alen's body again and now his stats were on display for everyone to see. But even with this Alen continued his advancement.

: Strength 10, Agility 25, Intellect 25, Mana 30: No current title, No assigned class, Zero magic affinity, LV1

Among all the other saviors Alen had the weakest stats among them, Suddenly the shadow this person was casting disappeared as the pressure they could feel lifted from them, and they fell into laughter, but even with all this Alen didn't stop his advancement. He grabbed a chair and threw it towards Jack.

"HAHAHA did you just chuck a chair at me pathetic," Jack said as his body moved instinctively kicking the chair away, but when he turned to face Alen, the latter had already covered the distance and was pointing his sword right at Jack's head before thrusting it at full force.

"Light of protection"

"CLAAANG!!"
