42. The Villain

Do you all know the difference between the actions of a good person and a bad person in the eyes of others?

Well this may be a complicated or rather very complicated question to answer but then also have any idea what you might say is good or might say it is bad?

Want to hear Lucifer's opinion on this?

There is no good or bad.

It's just the point of view but there is just one weird concept in between which makes us think any action is good or bad.

Interest.

If it is something in our interest from our point of view it is good.

If something is against our interest we will see this as bad.

This is a primary definition for him from his point of view.

Do you know why Ares was followed by so many people?

Because he grabbed their interest.

He is powerful who can be controlled and takes care of everyones interest making him an easy piece for them to manipulate and have him work for them.

The exact opposite is for Emma, she is powerful but too powerful for them to control and doesn't care much about their interest making her a threat in their eyes.

That is why these elders of the family choose to support Ares over Emma.

The same goes for Issac and Hermes, they both are also the same as Ares and could be controlled and also care about their interest.

When Issac threatened the elders with the evidence against their crimes they all got alerted as what evidence Issac held in his hands are disastrous for them and they couldn't help but agree with whatever Issac has in say.

Issac has the evidence, that if submitted to the current patriarch it would make their life hell so for the moment they couldn't help but do as he says.

They have a choice to go to other candidates for help but they have kind of guessed their reactions.

They can ask Ares for help but it won't end for them as they all knew he might be taking care of their interest but he is also a nice man by heart who would have similar reactions to the current patriarch and it won't end well for them.

Asking help from Emma? Heck no.

It wasn't because of their pride but because knowing that crazy woman they know she will end their lives the moment she got the wind about what they all did.

The only option remains Hermes.

But how should they even approach him.

He is always busy with the finances of the industries owned by the Morrison Family and they don't know much about the personality of that guy and how he would react to this situation.

They were pinned from all the directions and can only do as Issac ordered them to.

This was a tight situation for the elders of the family but for Lucifer this was the exact situation he wanted.

He had always kept his eyes on Issac and knew about the deal between Issac and Ares from the start but then also continued with this drama.

He was the one who also gave them the lead for Jessica and Hayley's location in the hospital and helped them find the both?

Why?

Can't Lucifer just go and make Issac the new patriarch?

The answer is yes but should he?

If Issac became the new patriarch he can just step down from the seat of patriarch anytime and announce for re-elections as there aren't any rules prohibiting this.

And even if Issac somehow decided to stay as the patriarch he won't be in control of Lucifer any longer and can seize the resources that Lucifer has gathered during these months anytime he wishes for in the name of helping the family or somehow the will of world influences him when he meets protagonist which is inevitable in the future and grants them all treasures that should have originally belonged to him then what should he do?

Hence having Issac as the patriarch would be a foolish decision.

So who should take the position of the patriarch?

Emma, his aunt. Well that's a nice option but knowing her she would also abandon the position of patriarch and run away from the family.

This leaves only one option with Lucifer now.

That is Hermes.

Knowing the future and having read the book he knows more about Hermes than others do.

Hermes in the eyes of others is a nice and serious person but in reality he isn't less than any psychopath.

He is one of the major antagonists in the novel who is extremely greedy for power and has a crazy obsession with becoming the patriarch who had hidden himself too well.

Knowing this Lucifer approached Hermes anonymously and reached a deal in which both of their interests are taken care of.

Lucifer then spread the rumours regarding Issac to take strict actions against all elders whom he has evidence against and at the same time having Hermes approach this elders showing them but of his true face and agreeing with them to vote for him.

Everything went smoothly as Lucifer planned and Hermes won the elections.

In this whole plan of Lucifer, Issac was nothing more than a pawn.

As for his family?

He hired one of the best dark organisations in the world to kill them.

It was not for anything serious just a small score Lucifer wanted to settle with Issac from his previous life.

Haha it would be fun to see Issac's face now.

Lucifer thought to himself and looked at the beautiful fireworks which once again which lighted up the sky.

"Fate huh?"

Looking at the beautiful night sky Lucifer muttered 'Fate' under his breath.

This time he saw himself how Ares was able to contact Issac and got Issac's all vote if he hadn't been careful.

The will of the universe or the world whatever it is would always want to bring the story back to the track on how it should be supposed to go.

In this game of life it isn't Michael and Lucifer who are against each other this time.

It is fate and Lucifer, the fateless against each other.

The will of the world would always try to make him go down the original path and meet the same fate the previous one had once met with.

The path that leads to his death....

But he won't give up.

Not this time.

In this lifetime he had already made it his aim to rise to the top of the world and become strong enough that in this world only he would be the fate.

Closing his eyes Lucifer remembers all of his memories of his past life.

The betrayals, the humiliation and the suffering he had gone through.

Lucifer opened his eyes and a cold light flashed inside of them.

He vowed to take his revenge on all of them who ever did anything bad to him.

Even if it was in his past life.

Even if it wasn't he who actually suffered all of that.

He had decided to take his revenge on them and not to forgive them after all he isn't a protagonist who forgives his enemies.
