90 Main Weapon

"Anyways, the reason why I taught you how to convert your divine-level energies to mana, was because using them as they are to activate skills would be overkill."

Zen listened to Arthur carefully as he continued talking.

"Also, don't recklessly use your Fire Divine Energy and Evil Energy since it would be easy for Gods to detect you…" As Arthur said this, he quickly added, "Oh right, earlier when I tried to sense the energy inside you, I wasn't able to sense anything. It's as if you're just an ordinary human, why is that?"

Zen saw Arthur's confused expression and thought for a while.

"I think it's a part of my talent."

Arthur knowingly looked at Zen but didn't ask anymore.

Deep inside, Zen had a guess. 'I think it's my [Cell Control] skill…'

He tried to feel the cells throughout his body and felt as if he had absolute control of them.

Before he fell unconscious after the assimilation of the [Evil Heart] and [Blaze Attribute], he was afraid that this action of his would be discovered.

Then, in accordance with his will, his cells closed all the pores in his body, not even letting a wisp of energy out, making him look and feel just like a normal human being.

'This is excellent for stealth and keeping a low profile…' Zen instantly thought of a thousand ways to use this skill and was immediately excited.

He was also thrilled to explore the different applications of this skill since its name was Cell "Control", which meant that it had a variety of uses and was only limited by his imagination!

At this moment, Arthur spoke again, "Alright, pick up any weapon of your choosing from the weapon rack."

"Huh?" Zen instinctively asked.

In the next second, he went to the weapon rack located near the door to the dilapidated building.

From afar, he heard Arthur's voice, "Don't just choose casually like you did in the past. I want you to choose what you want the most."

In the past, whenever Zen was training his [Cold Weapon Mastery] and [Hot Weapon Mastery], he would choose a different weapon each time in order to broaden his horizons.

And whenever he was sparring with Arthur to improve his [Adaptive Combat Technique], he would always go hand to hand in order to refine his combat sense and his ability to use the environment to his advantage.

Now that Zen heard Arthur's words, he felt a little strange.

'Am I choosing my main weapon right now?' He asked himself with a tinge of excitement.

Then, just like what anyone would do, he began to seriously consider his choices.

He picked up a greatsword from the side and lifted it easily with one hand. Every weapon in the rack didn't have any special attributes and thus, didn't have their own status information window.

Zen waved the greatsword with ease, imagining himself charging through a horde of monsters alone as he waved the greatsword in his hand.

He was intoxicated with daydreaming, he even drooled a bit.

After a few seconds, Zen snapped out of his daydream.

'The greatsword looks, well, great. But it's not what I want. Hmmm… Oh, that war axe looks good too!' Zen placed the greatsword back in the rack as he hurried towards a war axe that looked intimidating.

***

Arthur, who was still waiting for Zen, shook his head with a smile as he watched him choose his weapon.

'He's like a kid…'

However, he liked this part of Zen.

'He's just like me in the past…'

He didn't rush Zen since he was currently making an important decision.

Although Zen had a high mastery of all cold weapons due to [Cold Weapon Mastery], it was all for efficiency.

What Arthur wanted was for Zen to choose what weapon he would prefer. Although this would not have any drastic benefit to him, Arthur's goal was for Zen to have fun.

'It feels like he's still a child… A child in a grown man's body? No, more like a child that was forced to mature early…' Arthur thought as he looked in the distance.

Arthur discovered this through his interactions with Zen. He couldn't pinpoint it, but he noticed that Zen seemed to be suppressing his inner child.

"Teacher!"

Before Arthur could think any further, he heard Zen's voice behind him.

He turned around and saw that Zen was holding two single-edged swords.

Zen happily clutched the two swords in his hand. They looked like short versions of a standard katana.

However, unlike a katana, they were single handed and had shorter blades.

The hilt of the sword was around 15 cm in length, while its blade was around 55cm in length. Just like a katana, its blade was very thin which made it look like it could cut through anything.

"Are you sure about the weapon you have chosen?" Arthur asked.

Zen nodded resolutely.

Not asking any further, Arthur turned around again, facing his back towards Zen and spoke, "All the preparations are done. You've trained your body to the limit, even surpassing my expectations. You have also acquired mana, again, you surpassed my expectations."

Zen listened carefully, he felt that Arthur was about to teach him something grand.

Arthure kept speaking, "What I will teach you now are the things that you wanted since the start."

At this moment, Zen's eyes were filled with anticipation.

"I will now teach you the inheritance of the Fire Church."

Arthur unsheathed the sword on his waist and continued, "One of the most destructive of all the natural weapon arts that the humans took pride themselves in, the [Fire Weapon Art]."

As he said the last bit of the sentence, his sword was instantly ignited in flames.

The sword covered in flames was clearly reflected in Zen's ruby eyes as he thought, 'Finally…!'
