1 All I remember is that I ate a hot dog

I'm the last person on earth… yup, I know what you're thinking-- you've probably heard this many times before but listen, this is different (you've probably heard that one too) this is different because it has to be-- you ready to listen? All right.

Everything started when… I don't know, all I know is that I popped out of what looks like a cryonics capsule-- I don't know what year it is or if I have any purpose here, I do have one memory of when I ate one great hot dog and then I guess I was frozen during what seems like the end of humanity-- Oh, and my name? Well we don't talk about that yet.

But anyways, back to when I popped out of the capsule, it was so deserted one might think It had been a zombie apocalypse, but it wasn't, there was nothing out of the ordinary, as I walked down the street aside from the fact that the place was deserted, most of the buildings were only half as tall as they once were and there was debris everywhere. I kept walking to see what I could find and also because I had nothing better to do, and because I was hungry as if it had been years since I ate that hot dog.

While walking I found many things that pointed to a kind of rebellion, like posters that featured a person who seemed to be a tyrant with an X over his face, under him was a language that I could not understand. I kept walking, this time searching for a building that wouldn't be looking half as bad as the others, having no such luck, I did find an empty grocery store, which luckily had two cans of beans.

I walked longer and finally found a building that wasn't that bad. I stayed in a luxury hotel, that is, after I walked for about five hours in the desert and found more civilization, luckily there were a few rooms that were almost intact, so I stayed the night.

Welp, that happened just yesterday, I know, I know, you thought it was going to be some long story to get to the present? Nope! Here we are, back to the story. Last night I decided to move and find another place, and also explored my surroundings for food.

As I made my first step outside I was welcomed by a slap of wind and dust on my face, What a great way to start the day right? Anyways. I looked left and right, everything was still exactly the same, I was kind of hopeful it had all been a dream… It wasn't.

I kept walking south that is the only direction I know for sure, as I walked I notice the building and made an attempt to try to figure out what was the purpose that they once served, there was a half yellow half red colored building, the colors collide in a diagonal all across the building, I could tell it had been a restaurant, there was a big space in its front wall which had obviously held glass once, there chairs and tables scattered across the place, and at the far end there was a counter.

I made my way towards it and went directly to the kitchen, there was a slightly bad smell like milk way past its expiration date, I decided not to open any fridge just in case, the fridges were at the far end to the left, to the right were stoves and a deep fryer in the middle was a small metal table that had four pillars on each corner all connected at the top, they went up high enough so that one didn't hit the pans and pots that were supposed to be held up there.

The counter went as wide as four feet and had a big opening to attend any customers, I checked the cabinets for anything useful, I found a small saw knife and took it with me. Maybe I could use it later, there was no canned food at all, so I just made my way out. The sun was high in the sky now, it was almost ten.

Up ahead was a large building. It seemed to be a commercial center, Its sign now fallen on its side-- before it was a relatively small building with a big red cross that still stood at its top, the building was almost intact, maybe it had been protected from the bad climate by the two buildings that stood to either side of it.

"Two in one?" I said to myself in a low voice as I made my way into the commercial center.

I made my first step past the door, the commercial center had two floors, the stairs were to the other end, the center part of the roof was dome shaped and made of glass, some parts of it were missing. There were many different stores, there was a jewelry store, some restaurants, as usual, a clothing store and many others. But there was something weird about the clothing store, all the accessories and clothes were for female users.

If I was gonna stay here-- well… I have no other option, I definitely need clothes, before I could enter the store, I noticed a fountain far to my right-- water! I need to find water-- I turned around and ran to the restaurant and searched everywhere, this restaurant was bigger, but looked like the other one I had already checked but I was going to fast to notice anything else, at last, I found the ice machine and I was lucky enough that the ice melted and the water was perfect for drinking, I dunked my face and drank until I was satisfied… it tasted weird… but water is water! I decided I would find something to store the water on and come back.

I made my way back into the clothing store, everything was made for a female to wear, I just checked some hoodies that didn't look too femenine, I took a one that was completely black and a shirt that also didn't look too bad, I changed my red T-shirt for this blue one and put the hoodie over it.

As I did this I realized that even though I was frozen for who knows how long, I was fit-- not that fit, but at least I could see some muscle there, I changed my jeans for this random pair of jogger pants. I also took another set of clothes just in case. I looked for a backpack to carry things and found one at the end of the store that looked rather useful with a bunch of pockets-- and what do you know! It came with a water bottle!

I proceeded back to the restaurant, found the ice machine again and filled my water bottle. Now that I was there I also searched for food and found some canned tuna and more beans, I placed them in my backpack and went for the stairs. As I got closer I noticed that the stairs had been blocked, but the metal plate that had been used to act as a fence had fallen, so I could climb.

The second floor looked like a hideout, there were tents and sleeping bags in what seemed to have been a furniture store "Like Ikea!" I thought-- wait, whats Ikea?-- anyways. There was also a cafeteria which was fairly big, it had at least twenty picnic tables-- Before I could continue I noticed a rifle standing next to a window to the other side, so I had to go all the way around just to get it, the closer I got I noticed it was a bolt action sniper rifle, It was a Karabiner 98k and it used 7.92x57mm bullets. How do I know all this? Man, if I knew I would tell you, but all I remember is that I ate a hot dog (it was really good by the way).
