With a blur of darkness, Alex found himself in a forest of green vegetation, lost without being able to locate himself.

Shouting through the house, Alex heard the sound of hurried footsteps, then noticed a beautiful blonde coming down the stairs with a terrified expression.

"Are you in the army? Where's your uniform?"

Steff asked. She thought the young man in front of her was too young to serve, and the fact that he was out of uniform really added to her suspicion.

"I'm off duty today, but I've been called to evacuate the city, we need to move quickly because I have more people to evacuate!"

"Okay officer, why are you evacuating the city?"

"There's been a powerful chemical leak in the form of fog, I need you to come with me to the city market, I'll be evacuating everyone!"

Nodding his head in agreement, Steff quickly left the house, following the officer. It might have been foolish, but looking at the advancing fog increased his confidence in his words.

"Miss Drayton, I'm sorry but at this speed we won't make it in time, I'm going to have to be rude..."

"What do you mean? PUT ME DOWN!"

Being held in a princess position, Alex didn't give Steff time to think before using her maximum speed to run, silencing the woman's wide-eyed words.

"What the hell are you? Are you Superman?"

The blonde spoke, her mouth open wide enough to take in many things, but her expression wasn't meaningless because she felt like she was in a speeding sports car, only freer.

"I'm just a soldier with a mission to fulfill."

Running at 261 mph, Alex moved forward, feeling the wind in her face. Looking back, she noticed that the fog seemed to be overtaking her, something impossible for a fog to do at that speed.

"What's that noise? What's in the fog?"

Steff, who was being carried in Alex's arms, felt a chill run down her spine, the noises and grunts coming from the fog seemed similar to the horror movies she used to watch.

"I don't know, but I can't let it catch up with us."

Using phantom footsteps, Alex momentarily accelerated his speed, slightly increasing the distance from the fog, but he had to turn it off after a few minutes, feeling his stamina drop.

"We're almost there shit, if I get caught in this fog, I won't be able to guarantee Steff's safety!"

Alex thought, deactivating the skill and realizing that the fog had once again taken away his slight advantage, accelerating towards it.

Soon the fog reached a hundred meters, fifty meters, thirty meters, ten meters and continued to approach Alex and Steff, who heard the noises and presences in the fog stirring.

"Shit, I'm almost there, I can already see the market!"

A vision of the city began to form in front of Alex, he looked at the map and realized that he was close to the market, just a few minutes and he would soon reach the place, but with his current speed he would be swallowed up by the fog in seconds.

As he thought, the fog slowly began to cover his body, slowly covering his vision as his mind went on high alert for any attack.

His months of fighting on Skull Island yielded a sharp sixth sense when he noticed a small quadruped monster, similar to a horse but with the claws and face of a dog, its size between two meters.

The monster, which had sensed their presence, let out a gurgling roar before advancing towards them, leaping into the air while extending two claws towards Alex and Steff.

"Flaming arrows!"

Just before the claws felt fresh flesh, a gasp came from the mouth of the small human in front of him, along with ten small arrows of slack molding themselves out of the void in front of him, firing at bullet-like speeds.

The claws, which were centimeters away from Alex, stopped before falling heavily to the ground, with no sign of the creature's life.
