3 Chapter 3: Justice is Here!

Joseph Pov

I got the news from Duloc's Captain of the Guard that the criminals were dealt with quickly, that was good, that area of the city will finally have peace, I'm even going to order an increase of Guards in that area, to prevent another criminal group from appearing.

"And that's all, Mi'lord, the 5 criminals you Ordered to spare for a public Execution are being sent to the dungeons" Said the Captain to me.

"Great, I'll do the Public Execution in a few days, thank you for your services and of your men, Captain" I say looking seriously at the Captain, I wasn't kidding.

"I and the men under my command were just following your orders, Mi'lord, nothing more, nothing less" Said the Captain to me seriously.

3rd Pov

Joseph and the Captain of the Guard talked for a while longer before the Captain left Joseph's office, leaving him alone in the office with his own thoughts.

He would have a lot of work ahead of him, both to make the City of Duloc develop, as well as to create a Capable Army, a Constitution, a Government that would serve him, etc.

Joseph doesn't want to be like the original Lord Farquaad, who was a Tyrannical Person, but he also doesn't want to create something like the UK, where the Monarch technically has no power in the country, just living in his Royal Palace and just hanging out to wave like a dumb robot at a crowd of people.

It was then that a light went on above his head, giving him an idea.

'Why don't I use our dear Prussian friends as inspiration?' Joseph thought seriously as he looked at the ceiling, thinking about the Prussian Constitution.

The Prussian Constitution he was talking about was that of 1850, which while it had certain liberal elements, remained a Constitution that guaranteed the powers of the Monarch, with the Monarch being above those of the 3 Branches of Government, plus the Army paying allegiance to him instead to be to the Constitution.

After thinking a bit, Joseph decided to use the Prussian Constitution, it would already give people several rights, rights that are not normally seen in a Medieval World, thus guaranteeing that he has Popular support, as well as having the Power to act in an independent form, regardless of what Parliament decides.

The only thing he would have to change is Voting Rights and the Army, to allow women to vote in Parliament and be part of the Army, he won't pass up the chance to get more hands-on paperwork or staffing qualified Officers only because they are women.

Joseph then took some paper and black ink, he then started to write down the things he would do in the future, but this would only be put into practice when he had qualified personnel, developed Duloc, and a small Professional Army under his command, not a bunch of Guards.

"I'll have a lot of work ahead of me..." Joseph said to himself as he sighed and wrote his plans on the papers.

TimeSkip 2 Days

2 days had passed since the Operation that took place to end Crime in the East Area of Duloc, the citizens of that Area were totally happy to finally not have the Criminal Scum messing with them anymore.

Now the Public Execution of the last remaining criminals would take place.

"People of Duloc! Here before you are the Scum of this world! Criminals who brought fear and terror to all the people of the Eastern Area, now they will pay for all the crimes they committed!" Said Joseph as he looked at the crowd of people that was going to happen.

The citizens of Duloc started to boo the criminals, some even threw tomatoes at them, with a few being extreme and throwing rocks at the poor guys, hitting them square in the face.

"For the crimes they committed, I sentence them to Death!" Joseph declared before looking at the executioner who would be dealing with the Guillotine.

The executioner is none other than Thelonious, one of the Original Lord Farquaad's henchmen, but Joseph had other plans for him, rather than just being a "Simple" executioner.

Thelonious nodded and then put one of the criminals on the guillotine, when the criminal was trapped, Thelonious wasted no time and quickly made the guillotine blade fall, taking the life of the first criminal, who before dying was screaming and crying out for mercy.

When the criminal's head fell off, people started screaming in happiness as they saw the first scum leaving this world.

After that, the other criminals also started to be executed, with them asking for mercy but only finding the guillotine blade.

"Let this serve as a warning! Anyone who tries to break the law or try something against the Good City of Duloc, fear! Because Justice is here, and it's here to stay" Joseph declared as he saw people celebrating and calling his name.

After completing the execution, Joseph returned to his "Palace" amid applause and people shouting his name while being guided by 2 Guards and also followed by the Captain of the Guard.

Joseph looked at his "Palace", which looked more like a giant Medieval Town Hall and thought of the future Palace he will build when all of Duloc is developed.

He will have to create a Palace fit for a Monarch in the future, one that any King or Monarch around the world would be envious of just seeing the entrance to the Palace, it's not like he's trying to compensate for anything.

Obviously not, definitely not.

'I need to buy the damn potions from the Fairy Godmother as soon as possible!' Joseph thought as he looked at his tiny legs, he didn't like being the size of a Dwarf.

'Calm down, Joseph, rushing things isn't worth anything' Joseph thought as he sighed, the amount of things he had to deal with, besides height problems, was tiring.

When he arrived at his "Palace", he went straight to his office, followed by the Captain of the Guard, when they reached Joseph's office, he had a map on his desk that showed Duloc and the surrounding areas.

"Captain, I want to know everything about the lands that are under Duloc's Domain" Ordered Joseph while pointing to the map.

"Yes, Mi'lord! In addition to the City of Duloc, we have 5 Villages under our Domain, we also have several forests and a swamp" Declared the Captain as he said everything he could remember of the territories that were under the Lordship of Duloc.

"Criminality?" Joseph asked.

"From what we know so far, no Criminal Activity, Mi'lord" replied the Captain.

"Population in each Village?" Joseph continued as he raised an eyebrow.

"Unfortunately I cannot say, Mi'lord, it would have to be necessary to send someone to calculate the population of each Village." The Captain answered sincerely, he really didn't know how many people there were in each village.

"Hmmm, send some men to these Villages, I want to write down how many people there are, houses, people's names, etc. " Said Joseph after thinking about it a bit.

"Mi'lord, unfortunately, the Guards cannot read... only you and I can" Said the Captain with a worried tone in his voice.

"Then you must go with a group of Guards to each of these Villages, I need this done as soon as possible, in addition, we will also start teaching the Guards to read and write in the future" Joseph ordered seriously, he could not allow that his future Army is composed of a bunch of illiterates.
