Prologue

Hello, my name is Denshi Aoyama. I'm the least normie, normie of my main friend group. The gorgeous girl in my group is my best friend Lisa Ivanov, and no, she's not a transfer student, and she wasn't born in Russia. Her parents were. The dude in front of me is Kaido Iwata, he's the EDGIEST JOCK EVER XD. And the girl next to him is his girlfriend Karen Wakanabe. She's what mainland Americans would call a Karen. I've never liked her. And the last person in this group is Dvonte, Karen's adoptive brother. I have MANY other friends that I hang with, like the nerds, the cheer squad, the otakus, some of the sports teams, and the music producers at this school (I love speedcore), but half the time I'm hanging with these people solely to hang with Lisa and Dvonte.

I ship these two together because they have SO much chemistry. Lisa is very sweet, beautiful, fun to hang with, very independent, and VERY good at making clothes (I pay her to make mine custom-made sometimes). Dvonte is very firm, fair, likes independent women, and he is a VERY GOOD COOK (this dude makes really good vegetarian Japanese food). Overall, good match (also they like each other, but only I know this. Many people ship them, but only I know that they are in to each other). Dvonte plays football (American, not soccer) and I normally talk to him about TV Football, I'm a Jackson (Mississippi) Hippos fan (if you know Teddy Roosevelt history, you know why the team name makes sense), while he's a Tokyo Twisters fan. And yes, you got that right, a Tokyo NFL team. This is probably a good time for backstory.

Well Japan was in a ton of debt, and a quarter of our population died of old age 30 years ago. S o w e j o i n e d t h e U . S . w i l l i n g l y around the year 2030. Most Japanese that are under 50 understand English anyway so it wasn't as bumpy. Though there are quite a few xenophobic old people still but eh. Japan was split into 5 states: Hokkaido, Kyushu, Honshu, and Shikoku of course, and this really weird 5th state called Umizura that includes every other island. We live in the state capital of Honshu, Tokyo of course, and we go to Umi High School. Guam also became a state because America hates odd numbers (Poor Puerto Rico, maybe next time). Oh wait, I forgot, we are technically "The United States of the Pacific" now, but we still go by the USA XD.

Why did I waste my whole calculus period in class thinking to myself about recent history and my life like it's an Autobiography? Man I was so bored. I even dreamt that my friends were near me despite me having them next period. Very weird. I think I may need mental help soon.
