Chapter 8

I walk home from the gym to cool off for a bit before I pester Dvonte and Lisa to come watch the basketball game between Tokyo and Oklahoma, and watch the new episode of Hacker Queen with me (It's about 6:30 pm and the game starts at 7). It's partially because they both like basketball and I also want to see how their relationship has blossomed. I order three large pizzas from Pizza Palace (one vegetarian and two bacon), and 3, 2-liters of Diet Joke.

"Yo get some dessert, I don't care how healthy it is as long as there's coffee or chocolate. Also bring chips. I don't care who brings who." I put in the group chat.

"Hey son, dja invite your friends to watch the game with us?" My dad asked.

"Yes, is your girlfriend gonna come dad?"

"Yeah, you haven't met her so I think it would be good to meet her, she's a weeb too so she probably would wanna watch that show y'all like."

"We're at episode 11 though."

"Nevermind then."

"You gonna go buy a case dad?"

"Yeah I'll be back in about 5 minutes."

"Aight."

DING!

"I already made a 'healthy' brookie. Lisa can you buy the chips on your way?" Dvonte texted.

"Yeah that's fine." Lisa texted.

I was thinking about inviting Freedom, but we just met and I don't have her number. Dang I'm stupid.

REEEEEEEEE!

I hate that doorbell with a burning passion.

It was Lisa and Dvonte. And my dad's girlfriend.

"Oh I don't think we've met, I'm Tanaka's son Denshi, he's buying a case right now, he'll be back. What's your name miss?"

"Kailani, nice to meet you." She said. This lady is like 22, not judging though.

"Is that your dad's girlfriend? She's like our age!" Lisa whispered.

"Yeah, I'm not judging though, she can't be a digger since my dad NEEDS me to work to pay for food lol. Tokyo prices." I whispered.

"Facts though, that's fair."

"Idk Polynesians are like Koreans, they don't age until they're 40 lol. She could be 40 for all we know." Dvonte whispered.

"HEYYYYY KIDS! Hey Babe!" My dad yells while barging in with a 6 pack of beer. The pain of being an American citizen, I gotta wait 3 years. RIP.

"Yo turn on the TV and put it on BCZ Japan."

"Kay."

The game started and we watched for an hour. Halftime started.

"Hey Denshi, how was the gym." Lisa asked.

"Amazing." I said.

"OOOOH~ do tell why."

"Okay I played a game with this girl."

"WAIT." Everyone but my dad's girlfriend said.

"Do you like her?" Lisa said.

"I dunno yet, she's pretty and I had a good first impression of her. She also goes to our school, I have no idea how I've never met her before, we're in the same grade."

"WHAT?"

"Yeah."

"Interesting indeed.~"

For the rest of halftime, Dvonte and Lisa were flirting and my Dad and Kailani were too. So I decided to sit in the corner and scarf down some pizza.

We finished watching the game and ate everything. Tokyo beat Oklahoma 103-97.

We then put on episode 11 of Hacker Queen. One more episode rip.

My dad used to like anime and video games but he doesn't always have the time.

"Dang these 3D models don't look like trash for once." My dad said.

Turns out, his girlfriend watched it too, so while we recovered from being full we watched it. Whod've thought that an anime about a girl that hacks people would make grown men cry.

The group left (including my dad), I cleaned up, and I laid on my bed. Thinking about this crazy weekend and one more day of potential crazy left until I go back to school. I blast music for a while, my dad comes back, and I start to think about Freedom. I don't know, it wasn't love at first sight per say, but i mean within the first hour and 5 minutes I knew her, I already started liking her.

We'll just have to see how this goes. I'm not looking forward to work tomorrow AT ALL. I only share 4 hours with Katerina tomorrow, but that's still too long. She made me feel uncomfortable today...

I fall sleep around 11 pm...
