Chapter 5

The next day...

Arghhhh I have to share a shift with Katerina todayyyy, it's gonna be soooo awkward. At least she works the window while I just chill at the register. If the robbery didn't spook me so bad and if the perp didn't look so similar to her, the cringe would be tolerable. Oh well, time to act super awkward.

So I put on my Del Burrito uniform and walked to work. I work EIGHT HOURS today with Katerina the entire time. Watchers, give me chad vibes to endure.

"Oh well, time to clock in." I said. Katerina said the same. It's 8 am and I think we both want to get this shift over with. Dang why is she so hot. Even in our ugly uniform.

I go to the register and she goes to the window. Since it's the weekend, my nerd friend Ryo works the fries.

"YOOO Denshi, have you watched the new episode of 'Hacker Queen'?" Ryo asked. Hacker Queen is the best new anime this season by far.

"No, I watched the Hippos-Twisters game last night with Kaido then went to sleep dude."

He tried so hard not to spoil it but he was itching to talk about it. So I let him spoil it just so he could get it off his chest. Thank God it has good graphics or I wouldn't be able to watch it. I hate my ADHD sometimes.

"Okay you bozos, time to open shop." Katerina said. She stares at me SPECIFICALLY, which makes me feel scared. I decide not to look at her at ALL today.

The day went by as usual, 4 hours passed and nothing crazy happened, yet.

Suddenly...

A fight broke out between a racist Japanese man and a white local man, they both started yelling at each other in Japanese and throwing punches. The Japanese man is one of those guys that didn't want Japan to be a part of America, they were both regulars, but this was the first time they've come at the same time. Katerina broke it up after telling me to call 911 and controlling the men. Man that was so hot. OH GOD WHAT'S WRONG WITH ME. I said I wouldn't look at her today. I failed XD.

The police came really fast since there is always a patrol car in the area due to the plaza nearby. The men were both taken to the station. No idea what happened to them afterward. Maybe jail time or some fines. Though it could have been called a hate crime for all I know.

The rest of the shift ended like normal, but Katerina kept her eye on me. She looks at me like I know something...
