Making money is hard too!

Viktor walked back into his clinic and closed the door.

Erik came out and gave him a big thumbs up, saying "Amazing! You really grow by the day, Viktor!" Viktor chuckled and said jokingly "Ah! The Leader of the Mutants flattered me so much, I might even blush!"

Erik rolled his eyes and hugged Viktor, saying "I don't want to disturb you any longer, my friend. If you have any troubles, please come to me." as he slipped a card in Viktor's hands.

Viktor put the card in his pocket and nodded, "Of course. There's a back door to the other side of the alley on your far right." Erik grinned and waved as he walked away.

Just before he disappeared, he paused and said sincerely "If you can treat Charles… Please do." before disappearing out the door, closing it behind him.

Viktor chuckled and muttered "What a tsun-tsun~" before coming to the table he was sitting at before. There were no longer any glasses or alcohol on it!

Naturally, Viktor used Shambles while no one was looking to hide the evidence.

Even Erik didn't notice!

Viktor called the set back and put the glass Erik was using in the high heat dishwasher before sitting back down and drinking alone.

It was a slow day today.

At night~

Viktor was locking up the clinic when something fell behind him. He paused and held Kikoku, slowly drawing it out.

He suddenly disappeared and slashed out, coating Kikoku in Haki. The figure dodged at an astonishing angle and jumped away, backflipping on the ground.

Viktor was about to attack again, when he finally saw the figure. He said in surprise "Little Devil!"

Daredevil almost collapsed at the nickname but stood up and coughed "Hello, Doctor." Viktor sheathed Kikoku and smiled "What are you doing here? Are you injured again?" Daredevil looked at Viktor's sword strangely but still said "Not today. I wanted to thank you in person for last night."

Viktor slapped his forehead and said "Come with me." before opening the clinic door again and walking inside.

Daredevil followed him inside and Viktor handed him the envelope of money with a smile. Daredevil frowned and Viktor explained "Don't be mistaken. Though I appreciate your payment, it's not necessary. Just cleaning up the streets is payment enough…"

Viktor paused and made a bad joke "Maybe you can attack a little fiercer and give me some more business! Hahahaha~" Daredevil's mouth twitched and he said stiffly "Very funny…"

Viktor rubbed his nose and coughed, "Not the best joke, but anyways, I'm serious. You don't have to pay me, I'm not that bad financially." Daredevil frowned and said "Doctor, I received treatment and made a payment, how can I take it back?"

Viktor sighed and said "Why are you such a good person? Someone else would've already taken it and ran!" Daredevil smiled, "That's someone else, isn't it?" Viktor sighed again and asked "Are you sure?"

Daredevil nodded and Viktor put the money in his pocket, shaking his head. He looked at Daredevil and asked "Is there anything else I can do for you?" Daredevil hesitated but shook his head in the end.

Viktor walked with him out of the Clinic, saying "Don't hesitate." Daredevil finally said "I was going to ask you to move out of Hell's Kitchen because it's a dangerous place and I wouldn't want a person such as yourself to get hurt but now…"

Viktor locked the door and smiled "But you've never seen a Doctor with such a huge scalpel, right?" Daredevil's lips twitched and he replied "You can say that…" Viktor patted Kikoku and smiled "Believe it or not, I used her to treat you."

Daredevil's eyes widened and Viktor smiled mysteriously, saying "Doctors aren't only Angels who give life… They're also Surgeons of Death." before walking away, waving behind his shoulder, saying "Goodnight, Little Devil~"

Daredevil watched him leave before sighing "Hell's Kitchen is really crouching tiger, hidden dragons! I gotta pay more attention." before he disappeared to fight more crime.

Viktor was feeling good about himself and returned to his house while whistling.

Emma was sitting on the couch, watching TV with her legs crossed. Viktor's throat was a little dry looking at her impeccable posture.

She turned her head over and smiled lovingly "Big bear, you're back! I saw you had a guest, I didn't want to disturb you~" Viktor put Kikoku down on the rack and snuggled into Emma's embrace, saying emotionally "Who's better than my wife! I love you!"

Emma giggled and kissed him, replying sweetly "I love you too~" Viktor giggled like a little girl, making Emma laugh as they whispered on the couch with the TV on.

Time slowly passed again.

Daredevil started showing up at the clinic more while Emma started bringing Mutant children home to train, telling them strictly not to tell anyone or they would get Fs on their tests.

The children were so scared they nearly fainted on the spot!

Emma wasn't reassured and secretly sealed Viktor and her presence from the childrens' memories every night. It was harmless and safe so Emma clenched her teeth and did it.

As far as the children knew, a secret master was teaching them in their dreams.

This is naturally what Viktor came up with. It was much safer than any other method.

The children didn't even know who Viktor was and as far as they were concerned, Emma was simply their teacher.

Viktor fell in love with this woman again every single day. She did so much for these kids and they had no idea at all! He couldn't describe the feeling but it touched him deeply.

She was simply an angel in disguise!

He fantasized her teaching their own children one day and a silly smile spread on his face.

It wasn't once or twice but he thought about this a lot!

So much so that Emma secretly peeped when he was dazed and saw a whole scene, making her heart sweet and her nose sour. She secretly wished for the same scene too!

Unfortunately for her, she knew the future!

She knew it was a huge gamble and terrible choice to have a child at this time.

Luckily, she was never pregnant.

Though, this worried her a bit and she secretly went to Christine to see if she had any problems.

Christine reassured her that she was completely normal, even healthier than most people! Emma let the weight in her heart go and smiled freely, thanking Christine before leaving.

Now that she was okay to have children, she had to make sure it didn't happen for the time being.

It was just too dangerous!

Aliens come knocking every day, the Earth is in jeopardy even on leap years!

Who wants to fucking live here!?

Unfortunately, she didn't have a choice.

She talked to Viktor about her worries and he was surprised. Emma admitted shamefully that she peeped on his daydream and he waved it off, telling her "What's mine is yours! I don't care if you look through them. What secrets are there between you and me?"

Emma almost broke down and cried, she really loved this guy to death! He was so nice to her.

Anyway, they agreed to have a child later instead of soon.

Not for their safety, but the child's.

It's very dangerous living in this world. You have to look up at the sky every now and then to make sure a meteorite isn't coming to smash you to death!

After the agreement, Viktor and Emma continued teaching the Mutant children, while Viktor became more acquainted with Daredevil, occasionally helping him treat his wounds.

Unfortunately, he didn't get any prompts from Daredevil again.

Maybe because he wasn't injured enough or on the verge of death, but Viktor didn't care. He was pretty happy with his life already, he worked on his abilities steadily and didn't slack off.

Both to get stronger to protect Emma and to satisfy his own desires.

To say he didn't want to be a strong man was simply nonsense. He naturally wanted to be strong! But he had a 'if it comes, it comes' attitude towards the system.

Anyway, not that it was an issue. He was plenty strong already. He and Emma were steadily increasing their strength together. Even Emma's Telepathic powers were getting stronger under training.

Viktor used many methods of training from anime for her. He didn't know if it would work but he tried regardless. Like lifting weights with your mind, stretching out your telepathic range, keeping it up at all times, etc.

Turns out, they weren't all bullshit!

Some of them actually worked!

Viktor didn't understand Mutant biology, nor was he an expert like Charles, but it seemed that Mutants could get strong by training their abilities through vigorous use and tricky practice.

He wanted to communicate with Charles on this, but where was he supposed to find him?

It's not like his number was on the internet!

As a result, he couldn't even find Charles' shadow, let alone treat him.

But he did find Charles' research thesis on Mutation.

It was very interesting and added a lot of knowledge to Viktor's repertoire.

In truth, Viktor wanted to take a trip to China to study the Chinese medicine of this world. You have to know, he died in China from garbage in his last life. And that Earth didn't have ancient Martial Arts clans!

This Earth had ancient scripts for Chinese medicine that were very precious.

But where was he gonna get the money for a trip to China?

Not that Viktor wasn't rich, but he was simply saving money for Stark's Stock Market crash. If he was successful, he could easily multiply his funds to the max!

Then he wouldn't have to worry about it for the rest of his life!

Also… Was he supposed to show up and have them hand over Medicinal Secrets just like that? You have to know, Chinese folk are very xenophobic. They don't exactly appreciate non-chinese folk.

Especially to have them ask for secrets from their country?

I think they'd rather die to be perfectly honest…

And so another project was shelved for the time being.

Daredevil eventually stumbled upon Viktor and Emma training.

Emma wanted to kill him but Viktor stopped her and invited Daredevil to join them, making sure that Emma only used hand to hand combat and not her Mutant powers. It wasn't that Viktor didn't trust the little Devil, but it was just necessary protection!

Unfortunately after the first time, Emma only trained with Viktor and left when Daredevil arrived, making him a bit embarrassed and apologetic.

Viktor comforted him and said that his wife didn't really like strangers even though she was a teacher. Daredevil understood completely, a random guy showed up at your house, it would be strange if you welcomed him.

Little Devil wouldn't be too happy either!

Fortunately, Viktor and Daredevil had a little friendship and he wasn't turned away.

Another year skipped by just like that.
