Chapter 6: Descending from the Sky

Luo Lin opened her eyes from the sleeping bag, yawning widely as she looked outside the window.

The purplish-red sky seemed slightly brighter, but there were no other changes. The pain spreading from her shoulder made her hiss in discomfort.

She slumped her face and reluctantly pulled herself out of the sleeping bag, just like pulling out a radish.

"Sigh, Otto really is skilled on using the Key of Revelations..."

After defeating the C-rank False God Otto last night, Luo Lin and Himeko Murata immediately chose the B-rank difficulty for the challenge. Both of them (including little Bianka who was possessing her) knelt all night to Otto.

The reason was simple: Otto didn't use the Void Archives in C-rank, but he did in B-rank.

Adding only the Divine Key was enough for the B-Rank Challenge to become extremely difficult.

Facing the significantly enhanced False God, Luo Lin and Himeko were first bound in place by the Mimicry Oath of Judah's chains, then Otto unleashed a sword slash arc that sent the weak Luo Lin flying away. The rest of the time, he just focused on dueling with Himeko.

Obviously, even though the Vermillion Knight - Eclipse had incredible performance, Himeko had little space to maneuver from the onslaught of bullets aiming at her. False God Otto easily bound her with the Mimicry Oath of Judah, quickly followed by a merciless barrage of bullets.

When the explosions ended, Himeko reunited with Luo Lin who had been watching from the sidelines.

However, Himeko Murata showed no sign of defeat on her face. Instead, she looked more admiring.

"Truly worthy of Lord Bishop Otto. His combat power is truly astonishing... This B-rank difficulty might not even be his true strength, right?"

Seeing Himeko Murata's admiring expression, Luo Lin didn't know what to say for a moment.

Actually, if Otto could focus on fighting against the Honkai, he would be the most likely person in this era to lead humanity to finally defeating Honkai... It's just a pity that Otto's aspirations lie elsewhere.

In the end, the girl could only comment indirectly, "Indeed, it's not. I'm afraid even SSS difficulty couldn't match his true combat power when he's in this state..."

Along the way, the girl encountered two or three waves of enemies, mixed with monsters she hadn't seen yesterday:

[Code VII - Chariot], with hard mechanical bull horns. Even the Vermillion Knight's great sword couldn't leave a mark on its horns, but Luo Lin still managed to stop this monster that liked to charge against people endlessy with a single sword strike.

This move was a true legacy of the Valkyrie Assault Team, originally used specifically to cut through the shields of Templar Honkai Beasts!

[Code I - Magician], its body is covered in a spherical energy field of crimson color, and it kept teleporting around, requiring multiple hits to effectively remove its shield.

Luo Lin smiled faintly. She switched to her original form, took out her assault rifle and in less than two seconds, knocked out its shield with a few rounds of bullets.

Then, the girl pulled the trigger, and even the bullets made of soul steel sparkled with a faint red light.

Under the cover of the red light, the bullets penetrated the armor of the mechanical monster without any hindrance, turning it into a sieve.

It was Edge of Taixuan, Luo Lin had added Edge of Taixuan! She actually attached the Edge of Taixuan's Ki to the bullets!

This was the insight Luo Lin gained when she was resurrected after being chased by the False God Otto all night and lazely browsed through the Valkyrie panel.

Why must Edge of Taixuan only be attached to a sword? Isn't it possible to use fists like Fu Hua? Even Kiana used a Subspace Lance to perform the Taixuan Eminence move!

A technique passed down for fifty thousand years couldn't be so inconvenient!

Luo Lin put away the assault rifle as she looked at the scattered mechanical monsters, she whistled in satisfaction.

After dealing with these monsters encountered on the road, Luo Lin continued forward. She followed the path she had taken yesterday, using the "trampoline" to jump onto the elevated bridge, and arrived near the teleportation point of Van Hawk Grand Hotel.

"Further ahead is Lionhead Bay Bridge... Oh, the double-bird boss downstairs is still there."

Luo Lin looked down and found the twin mechanical flying birds which caused countless clumsy players endless pain, still nestled in the gray crystal bushes, sleeping deeply like the giant bull-headed boss she had seen before.

The girl looked into the distance again and saw that the environment there was already fragmented, with roads interrupted, ground collapsed, and even tall buildings sinking below the ground, leaving only the rooftops.

Lionhead Bay Bridge was also broken into several pieces. Luo Lin vaguely saw honeycomb structures similar to the floating platforms she had seen before under the bridge. Perhaps these honeycomb structures were supporting the broken bridge, preventing it from falling into the sea.

Without much hesitation, Luo Lin quickly climbed onto the bridge from the cliff. There were also some mechanical monsters on the bridge, which were alerted by Luo Lin and quickly surrounded her.

However, these monsters were no match for Luo Lin. The Vermillion Knight's attacks were heavy and powerful. The bull-horned war chariot was overturned by her great sword, and then she switched to her original form, throwing two grenades and easily disposing of her opponents.

Soon, Luo Lin reached the end of the broken bridge.

In the open area above, there was a humanoid mechanical giant with giant bull horns riding a flying steed, hovering in the air with a long spear in hand leaving behind a long, starry red trail, exuding dangerous beauty.

[Code XX - Judgment]

Judgment naturally noticed Luo Lin standing below. It raised its long spear and quickly swooped down.

"Come on!"

Luo Lin didn't intend to take it head-on. First, she threw smoke and flash grenades to block the opponent's vision, causing the spear strike from above to miss. The tip of Judgment's spear pulled out from the bridge surface, leaving behind a dangerous area overflowing with red corrosive energy.

Luo Lin clicked her tongue. She couldn't let Judgment use this move at will. If it covered the entire bridge with this corrosive energy, there would be no safe place to land.

The girl cheered up, fired a burst of bullets from her assault rifle to assess the situation.

"Clang clang clang!"

Doesn't it sound nice? Well, good iron sound is good iron sound!

Luo Lin reluctantly put away the assault rifle, which couldn't cause any damage, and switched to the Vermillion Knight, lifting her great sword to strike.

Judgment laid its long spear horizontally, and dozens of crimson spikes appeared out of nowhere, aiming at Luo Lin.

This scene was too familiar, triggering Luo Lin's reflexes honed during the night-long battle with the False God Otto. Her attention was highly concentrated, and she maneuvered through the spikes like dancing, then ruthlessly slashed at the mechanical knight's face.

The powerful impact almost knocked the mechanical knight on Judgment down. In a series of red arcs, Judgment's body exploded with a shockwave in an attempt to force Luo Lin back and readjust its stance.

But Luo Lin wouldn't give it a chance to recuperate. The auxiliary device behind the Vermillion attached to the sword, and the extended energy blade sparkled with dazzling sparks .

[Annihilating Flames!]

The swift slash left Judgment struggling to cope. Its mount's horns were dangerously close to collapse due to the continuous high temperature. Finally, Luo Lin even used the energy blade to forcibly cut off one of the horns, leaving only half of its head there, supporting it in a pitiful manner.

Judgment let out a roar as red light emanated from its body, instantly teleporting to the sky, and sparks and arcs crackled all over its body!

"Don't you dare run!"

Luo Lin raised the sword brimming with heat energy and exerted force under her feet, sending herself into the air, and struck down at the battered monster!

[Code XX - Judgment] screamed and fell into the sea, causing a splash of waves.

[Ding!]

Three small sci-fi-looking ring-shaped devices fell into Luo Lin's hands, and the girl looked at them somewhat surprised.

In Luo Lin's perception, these three Moon Rings were like small whirlpools, slowly absorbing energy from the surroundings. They even seemed to have a feel of the Edge of Taixuan inside.

"Really amazing, I remember this thing was also developed by Dr. Tesla, right..."

Luo Lin put away the remaining two and couldn't wait to pick up one of the Moon Rings, installing it on her original body's arm.

As it started, the Honkai energy in the surrounding environment was drawn towards Luo Lin, gathering around her. Suddenly, the girl realized this thing seemed to serve as a beggar's version of the Key of Domination - Xuanyuan Sword which has the ability gathering Honkai energy and converting it into other forms of energy...

Those Edge of Taixuan Sword moves that consumed a lot of Honkai energy had hope now!

But before Luo Lin could celebrate for too long, she suddenly heard a loud explosion coming from the sky.

The girl raised her head and looked towards the direction of the explosion.

On top of the Arcane Castle, a black object was spinning and rapidly falling down, piercing straight into the rooftop of the nearby building, emitting hot steam.

Luo Lin squinted her eyes and was instantly shocked!

"That's... the Labor of Olympus?!"
