61 Chapter 10: The Assault of Forgotten Memories

"Thank you. I didn't get a chance to ask your name...?" Carole held Raiden Mei close, trailing behind Luo Lin.

"Just call me Luo Lin. I'm a Valkyrie from the Schicksal Logistics Intelligence Department. Come, let's find a place to hide for now."

"Are there enemies again?"

The silver-haired girl placed Raiden Mei and Adam in a sheltered corner of the street, watching as Luo Lin wielded her greatsword and confronted the approaching threat.

Now, Carole's mind was filled with confusion.

This Luo Lin, who claimed to be a member of the logistics intelligence department, was clad in formidable combat armor and displayed extremely skilled combat techniques. From Carole's limited perspective, she even felt that Luo Lin could rival Raiden Mei in battle.

If Luo Lin knew what Carole was thinking, she would probably laugh.

Luo Lin was quite aware of her own combat prowess. It was clearly written on her main body that she was a B-class Valkyrie, and with the blessing of the stigma, she might even possess A-class strength.

Compared to Raiden Mei, who had undergone rigorous training as a Herrscher and experienced numerous major events in the Elysian Realm... there was simply no comparison.

If it came down to skill alone, Raiden Mei here would likely defeat Luo Lin with just one hand.

Mei's current disadvantage lay in her insufficient Honkai energy and her inability to use Herrcher abilities. If she had half of her peak power as a Herrscher of Thunder, even the Herrscher of the Void would have to kneel and sing for her.

Thinking about this, Luo Lin sighed.

Raiden Mei was someone who knew the Himeko Murata, and she was well aware that Himeko had long since passed away. When Mei woke up from her coma, Luo Lin didn't know how she would react.

Luo Lin shattered the last mechanical monster in front of her with the Labor of Olympusfire, then jogged back to where Carole was hiding. As she reached out to take Adam's body, she noticed him coughing heavily.

"Oh, young man, awake now?"

"I... *cough* Captain and Carole..."

Luo Lin quite liked the protagonist of the Post-Honkai Oddyssey for his actions. She spoke gently, "Don't worry, you're relatively safe for now. We're evacuating to the temporary base at Tulip Alley. Once we get there, we'll provide further treatment for your wounds."

"Thank you..."

Adam closed his eyes again, his furrowed brow relaxing as he drifted back to sleep. Perhaps it was due to the awkward position in which Luo Lin was supporting him, but the boy occasionally snored softly.

Listening to the commotion, Carole's face flushed. "Senior Luo Lin, is Captain Mei awake?"

"Maybe just talking in her sleep."

Luo Lin placed her hand on Raiden Mei's moon ring, carefully inputting Honkai energy. She didn't know how much adaptation Mei still had to Honkai energy now. If she accidentally stuffed her with too much, causing Mei to be eroded by Honkai energy as well, it would not be funny.

After waiting a few minutes, Mei felt the pain in her body gradually diminishing and even felt warm and light. Did this mean her time was up...?

"Carole, as usual, take care of your captain. I'll deal with the enemies ahead."

"Understood, senior!"

Raiden Mei was stunned to find herself being handed over by the illusionary vision of her teacher, Himeko. With Luo Lin supplying Honkai energy, she felt weak, and her wounds began to ache again due to the lack of Honkai energy treatment. Then she felt her bottom land on the cold ground, giving her goosebumps all over.

Raiden Mei quietly opened her eyes.

Beside her, Adam, wearing a windbreaker, was dozing off, and Carole was peeking over the top of their cover, her eyes gleaming as she stared into the distance.

"So powerful..." the silver-haired girl exclaimed.

In less than a minute, Luo Lin returned and called out to Carole to help with the wounded. She then picked up Raiden Mei again and, touching the moon ring, continued their retreat to the temporary base.

Now fully awake, Raiden Mei gazed at the red-haired Valkyrie, knowing that there were some issues with the situation. But for now, she didn't want to think about it and just wanted to experience the long-lost feeling of being protected.

Memories of the past flooded back, and Raiden Mei squinted her eyes.

"I miss you... Kiana..."
