27 'My Soulmate' (2)

Tremble...!

A creepy violet aura emanated from Matthew's body, swirling around him like a sinister vortex.

With each passing moment, it grew stronger, enveloping him in a mysterious glow that cast ominous shadows across the room.

"Fuck..."

Click! Swiish!

Stella, taken aback by this sudden display of power, swiftly conjured a new barrier, weaving intricate symbols with her hands in a desperate attempt to defend herself.

However, as the barrier rose, cracking sounds could be immediately heard.

CRACK!

Instantly, to her shock and horror, the barrier shattered like glass in the face of Matthew's malevolent violet aura.

"How the fuck did you do that!!?" Stella stammered, her voice trembling with fear and disbelief.

But as she peered into Matthew's eyes, she involuntarily took a step back; his eyes now bore a red spade symbol, while his pupils were engulfed in darkness, creating a chilling and eerie visage.

"T-that... what's happening?" Stella was deeply scared by Matthew, she didn't know what was happening with him, but her instincts were telling her to get out of there as fast as possible.

Swooop!!

A peculiar bubble enveloped Matthew, and Stella's heart leaped with relief as she spotted Lilian approaching.

"L-Lilian!" A glimmer of hope flashed in Stella's eyes.

However, to her dismay, Lilian walked right through her and headed toward the bubble.

"Li...Lilian?" Stella stammered, watching in disbelief as Lilian seemingly ignored her.

She clenched her fists tightly, biting her lip until blood trickled down as she looked at Lilian's back.

Lilian approached the bubble, extending her hand to touch Matthew's body.

However, as her fingertips made contact, she quickly withdrew her hand, a shocked expression crossing her face.

CRACKLE!!

A bolt of lightning struck the ground nearby, casting ominous shadows over Lilian's features as her eyes flashed with a dangerous intensity.

"What... have you done?" Her voice was laced with a mixture of concern and fury as she turned her piercing gaze toward Stella, her eyes radiating danger.

"I... I didn't... do anything..." Stella's voice wavered, her lips quivering and her body trembling under Lilian's intense gaze.

The last thing she wanted was to be hated by Lilian, so her current demeanour was quite easy to read.

"..."

Lilian stood silent and then snapped her fingers, whisking both herself and Matthew away from the hallways.

Thump!

Stella collapsed to the ground, tears welling up in her eyes as she bit her lip, struggling to contain her overwhelming emotions.

"Ugh..."

Sniff... Sniff...

"Matthew~, come on! Let's go to an amusement park!" A cheerful yet youthful voice called out to Matthew.

His eyes slowly opened as a familiar figure with a deep smile on her lips—a lovely gaze that could make anyone's heart beat—grabbed his arm.

"...V-Vivian...?" Matthew's eyelids trembled as his lips parted.

"Nihihi~, who would it be except me, Dummy~?" Her smile deepened as she brought Matthew out of bed.

"A-ah..."

Matthew was enthralled by Vivian's smile as she guided him out of his house and led him towards the amusement park.

However, as Matthew's eyes remained on Vivian's figure, the sky suddenly turned dark, and Vivian halted her steps.

"..."

She didn't say anything and stood there in front of him, leaving him confused.

"Why...?" She suddenly asked him.

Matthew's eyebrow raised as he suddenly felt a deep pain cracking through his brain.

Slowly, the memories of him entering 'that' novel appeared on his mind, and now he had recovered all of them.

But, as Matthew had now regained his memories, his body immediately started shaking as he saw Vivian.

"F-fuck..." Matthew's quickly made the form of a blade with his hand and pressed it against his own waist.

"Why... Matthew? How come you would let me die? Vivian turned her head and looked at Matthew with the coldest expression her face could have.

"Ah... huff..."

Matthew started breathing heavily while sweat started forming on his forehead. He bit his lip tight as he held his hand on his chest, feeling his heart beat.

Thump! Thump! Thump!

And it wasn't beating slowly at all...

'Why would she happen in front of me...!?' Matthew screamed inwardly.

In front of him was Vivian, his childhood friend, his first love, his first girlfriend, and the one woman he experienced everything with.

From elementary school to high school, they were unseparable, and both of them had an idea to marry each other from an early age.

They spent years and years together, hoping that they would both grow up together and then die together.

Just like in the romance stories Vivian had made Matthew read with herself.

But... reality sucks.

One day, while Vivian and Matthew were currently hanging out at the amusement park.

Matthew went to the bathroom, and when he came back, he saw Vivian being held up with a gun pointed at her head.

His body immediately started trembling, he wanted to do something about it, but his body couldn't simply move.

He urged it on his mind, but due to the amount of fear... he was too late.

BANG!

A bullet exploded in Vivian's face, her blood splattering on the ground just under his own eyes.

At that moment, his eyes went empty as he saw the group that had killed Vivian and made a mess in the amusement park escape.

He didn't know what appeared in his heart at that moment, but he followed the group sneakily.

His head was completely blank, and his own body was moving itself on its own.

The group of robbers entered a van, and so did Matthew by breaking the window of an automatic car and starting it out.

The car started ringing, but Matthew didn't care.

Driving by the van, only a single thought remained on Matthew's mind.

And at the moment, when the van drove on a very high place, and it was guaranteed the death if any kind of car fell out of it.

Clutch!

Matthew madly pressed the accelerator and drove against the van.

CLASH!

The meeting between the both of them was mad, the van was immediately thrown out of the cliff, killing the group of robbers.

Meanwhile, Matthew jumped out of the car when the impact was going to happen.

He approached the edge of the road and looked at the ground, where the remains of both cars could be seen.

His eyes were completely empty as he saw this scene.

He closed his eyes tightly, clenching his fists until blood trickled down, tears silently escaping his eyes.

After all...

Even if he got revenge...

Vivian wouldn't come back.
