The Young Master I Serve

(ROSALYN'S POV)

I'm Rosalyn and i've been serving the Lenxington estate since i was 12 years old, i am currently 16 years old right now and yes i already have my own magic. As a commoner who's working as a maid at the Lenxington estate, i have decided not to enter an academy.

For me i am contented with my job as a maid and my salary is twice higher than other maids from other estates...Yes, the Lenxingtons are very generous with their servants so i am glad that i worked for them.

When i was just a new comer maid, i was assigned to take good care of the sick daughter of the Marquess. When i first saw the young master she was laying down in a big bed, looking weak. Her skin is as pale as snow, her body looked so small and petite. Her long wavy silver bluish hair that reached her hips also looked fluffy.

When i looked into her azure blue eyes that's looking straight at me, i couldn't help but be amazed, her eyelashes are long which made her eyes even more beautiful. "Miss, i am Rosalyn your new maid and i brought you your medicine"

The girl coughed then smiled weakly but it was gentlier than any other smile that i've seen "It was nice to meet you Rosalyn". The girl drank the medicine i gave her, while she's drinking it she made a bitter expression, i guess the medicine tastes awful...

"Thank you Rosalyn" the girl smiled at me then i just bowed my head to her "You're welcome miss and it was my duty to serve you as your maid". She shook her head and kept on smiling "No Rosalyn, Even though it's your duty to do so i should still thank you".

For months that i've accompanied and served the girl, her situation didn't get any better but worsen. Her body became even thinner than before but the smile on her face remains.

The young miss was laying down in bed looking weak and i was sitting on a chair beside her bed "Rosalyn" the girl called me and i looked at her "Yes miss?"

The girl was smiling softly "What does it look like outside the estate?" i tried to think for a moment what to answer "Life outside the estate's hard, many people were struggling to live everyday and it was also noisy. There are shops where you could buy different stuff and there are many places that looked beautiful too" the girl looked at me and was amazed.

"I see! i hope i could go and see it for myself" the miss chuckled cutely "But unfortunately i don't think that'll ever happen. When i looked into her beautiful azure blue eyes, i sensed sadness and loneliness which slightly gripped my heart.

"What do you mean miss?.." i asked her then she looked at me with a soft smile "I think my life won't last much longer. I may be young but i'm not that stupid..." the girl tugged the blanket and her eyes started to become watery "Father and mother always try their best and did everything for me, they're suffering because of me and even you Rosalyn..." she started to tear up and the tears slid down to her face.

I was shocked when i heard those words from the miss, i clenched my fist and immediately hugged her "Rosalyn?..." the girl sniffed while crying. I don't know if i'm allowed to do this but i gently patted her head "The Marquess and her wife didn't think of you as a burden miss! They love you so much and care about you so please stop thinking like you're a burden...I also cared about you miss and i feel happy serving you, i'm not thinking that you're a burden at all!". The girl cried then hugged me tightly, she cried for a long time and i just patted her head while hugging her to comfort me.

I wished to the gods to make the girl's situation better and luckily it was answered. A fortune teller advised to raise the girl as a boy to help her situation get better. I didn't believe it at first but the person said that it was practiced in their village so i think it wouldn't hurt to try.

The silver bluish hair that reached the girl's hips we're cut short and the frilly pajamas she used to wear in bed was changed into a pajama for boys. If i would be honest the miss who looked beautiful and cute before was now handsome and cute. All of the servants including me were also advised to call the miss 'young master'.

Like a miracle, the young master became a lot better and even better than the first time i saw her. When the young master is drinking her tea, i suddenly wondered about something "Young master?".

Young master looked at me while blinking twice. Her face that's pale as snow before, slightly gained colors and i honestly think that the young master looks so adorable "yes Rosalyn?" she asked while slightly tilting her head to the side...It looks cute.

"If you don't mind me asking young master...You used to have a long fluffy hair, and you also wear cute frilly clothes before...Do you feel uncomfortable or bothered right now that you have to change everything?" i really don't mind how long the young master's hair was nor what clothes she'll wear, for me young master will always be young master and that's what's important.

The young master smiled and shook her head "I think i feel a lot comfotable than before. My hair before feels so long and heavy but now it feels a lot lighter and the clothes i'm wearing right now also feels more comfortable so i don't really mind" Hearing the young master's response, i nodded and smiled.

As the young master got stronger and better, she started to do many things such as piano, painting, reading and many more but what she liked the most was training swordsmanship. She always tells me how she admired her father who is a magic knight and she also wanted to be one.

I enjoyed being with the young master but as she got busy with things, i also got busy with my chores and duties so we rarely talked like before, it feels a bit lonely but i'm always happy in my heart when i see the young master always smiling at me.

Back to the present, the young master looked a bit more cooler and matured now but there's still some cute baby fat on her cheeks that makes her look more cute and adorable. She also got taller and i think that we're in the same height right now...I know i'm not that tall but still! the pain of being small...

While i was watering the flowers in the garden, i saw young master drinking tea in the pavilion. Lately i noticed that young master seems different than usual...Maybe i was just overthinking but the air and atmosphere around her just feels different from before...Is it part of puberty? speaking of puberty i think my height isn't getting any taller lately...

There, i also saw Ain from the side watching young master, she was looking at her with admiration in her eyes. I think Ain liked the young master and i am not shocked at all. Most of the new and young maids also have a crush on the young master, They all think that the young master looked cool and handsome so they couldn't help but admire her.

To be honest i feel very proud for young master, she improved and grew into a fine person, i also heard from others that her swordsmanship is very good. While looking at the flowers that's about to bloom, i sighed...I still have a lot of chores to do...

Author: Do you like Ren?

Rosalyn: Well i respect the young master and i think that she's an amazing person but i only see her like a younger sibling.

Author: How about you? Do you like Rosalyn?

Ren: I like her as a person?..

The real Ren who is slightly blushing right now: W-well i think she's kind?...
