Ain's Avoidance

It's been a week since Ain caught Ren who escaped that night. Ren noticed that Ain seems to be avoiding her for some reason. Ain still serves her when Ren needs her but she just won't look at her and Ren doesn't have a clue why.

Ren wanted to ask Ain if is there anything wrong or if she's mad at herself but she doesn't have time at the moment. Just yesterday a letter was sent to their estate from the palace, her father was invited to accompany the King together with the captain of Crimson Lion. Crimson Lion and Azure Wolf were both magic knight squad that resides in Northern Territory but Azure Wolf's the one in charge in protecting the Northern Territory while the Crimson Knight's priority is to protect the palace especially the King.

Today is the day of his father's departure while Penelope, Ren's mother, Also needs to leave to settle things at Southern Territory regarding Avery. Avery's Auntie or the sister of her mother wanted to take everything that's left by her parents, saying that her sister's already dead and Avery's already in Lenxington's care so her sister's fortune should be handed to her. Penelope thought that her cousin's very absurd so she decided to arrange things and make sure that all of the fortune will go to Avery when she reached the right age.

"Be careful on your travels mother and father. Please come back safely" Ren said while looking at both at her parents and Avery's also by her side to see them off. Harris and Penelope both smiled looking at them "Of course! Thank you for seeing us off my children~" Penelope said as she hugged them both.

"Thank you and you two should also be careful. Don't go outside the estate without anyone with you by your side" Ren and Avery both nodded. Harris and Penelope rode different carriage and left.

It's also been a week since Avery came and both Ren and her became somewhat close "So do you have anything planned today sister?" Ren asked while looking at her sister.

Avery think for a moment "Rosalyn and I planned on teaching me how to bake" Ren made and 'Oh' sound and nodded "I see, I see. It seems like you caught interest in baking?" Ren blinked twice.

Avery nodded "I also want to learn how to bake like aunt Penelope. I've been pestering Rosalyn yesterday to teach me how to bake cause she baked me some delicious snacks and I wanted to learn how to make it myself"

Rosalyn became Avery's personal maid since the time she came here in Lenxington Estate. Avery seems to like and enjoy being with Rosalyn so Ren is also happy for her.

While walking back inside with Avery, Ren sighed remembering how Ain avoided her recently. Avery looked at Ren "Is there a problem sister?" Avery asked.

"Hmm...Well it's not really a problem but...Ain's been ignoring me lately. She's not totally ignoring me but more like avoiding me?" Ren sighed again.

Avery tried to think for an answer "Maybe you did something that made her mad or something?" Ren tried to think of possible things she did to Ain then she shook her head "I don't know and from what i remember, I've never did or said anything that might hurt her".

Avery made a thinking gesture "Do you want me to ask Ain for you sister?" Ren thought it was fine so she agreed.

The two found Ain who was about to go down the stairs. Avery told Ren to hide so she did then observed Avery approaching Ain and Ain bowed to greet and pay respect.

"Hey Ain" Ain was kind of nervous but she smiled and asked "Yes milady?".

Ren observed the two while hiding her presence "Can I ask you something?"

Ain nodded "Of course you can milady" Avery pretended to cleared her throat.

"Ahem...Well I was wondering if there's a time you became mad or irritated with my sister? Like you know?...When she gave you too much errand or other things" Ain blinked twice and shook her head while smiling.

"I've never been mad at young master, I'm actually thankful that I became her maid. She doesn't gave me too much orders and she actually do things sometimes on her own even though I told her that she shouldn't but she said that she doesn't want me to be tired or make things too hard for me. Young master also cares a lot for me and comforted me if ever she noticed that I'm feeling down or sad. She patiently teaches me things I didn't know before like reading and writing, thanks to her my reading and writing skills improved a lot. Young master Ren is the kindest and best person I know other than my adopted mother...So I don't see any reason to be mad at her at all..."

Avery noticed the changes in Ain's face. Ain's face was blushing and Avery could tell that she was shy. Avery smiled at Ain and nodded "I'm glad to hear that and thank you for answering my question"

Ain nodded and asked if she could go now, Avery agreed. After Ain left, Ren stopped hiding her presence and approached Avery "Well you heard her, she's not mad" Avery shrugged.

Ren felt quite relieved but she's still bothered "Then why is she avoiding me?"

Avery shrugged "I also don't have any idea. Why not ask her yourself?"

Ren's unsure if she should do it and was hesitating. Avery patted Ren's shoulder, looked up to her who's half a head taller than her and gave her a thumbs up as an encouragement "You can do it sister!"

"For now why don't you just observe her for a while?" Ren was basically pro in her last life when it comes to observing others as a hitman so she nodded "You're right sister! Thank you!" Ren smiled and ran to look for Ain to observe and search for possible reason why Ain's been avoiding her.

When Ren left, Avery shook her head while sighing and shrugging "The answer is quite obvious sister, you're just too numb to feel and see clearly" Avery remembered that she's supposed to meet Rosalyn so she headed towards the kitchen.

Ren finally catched up to Ain and started to observe her from afar. First she followed Ain who went to the garden to the garden to water the plants. After watering the plants, she went to help clean the estate by sweeping outside.

Nothing seems to be weird about Ain but she still continued to observe her while Ain's doing chores. When Ain finished sweeping, she happened to meet a boy servant named Alex. The two talked for a while and Alex seems to be smiling while listening to Ain, Ren thought that they're getting along well.

The day's about to end and Ain just finished doing other chores. Ren decided to go back on her room and lay down on her bed then stared at the ceiling while thinking. She still couldn't find the reason why Ain's avoiding her.

After dinner, Ren called Ain to come into her study room. She decided to ask Ain and try to settle things with her. While reading a book and waiting for Ain, a knock sounded on the door "Come in" Ren said as she put the book down and stood up from her chair.
