14 A glimpse of heaven

Steve successfully tied the two-foot long cloth around the lady's hair, it seemed to suit her well.

However now he had to step away from the good woman, all for the sake of the respect he had towards personal space.

He also had to continue the chatter by adding, "You're welcome."

As for what the result was, well it proved pleasant to the naked eye.

The red texture that the cloth carried, was beautiful enough on its own.

That aside, a lot of her facial features were more visible now; so such a couple of combinations proved astoundingly gorgeous!

The other had quite a defined face. Her teeth were pointy but small, which made her appear less like some beast frog, and more of a self-refined individual.

Her lips were just a bit patty, but they fitted on her face almost perfectly.

As for the fine woman's jawline, it was sharp and almost too wide; such a detail added quite an edge.

So she proved herself truly different in appearance, especially if she was compared to most frogs around here; they often had round heads.

Steve was a bit stunned thanks to such beauty, as this woman was truly one of a kind. But right now he wanted to focus more on just how much protection she could offer.

So he had to weigh in, "We will meet a bunch of frogs soon, and they could be dangerous. Do you really want to be my guard?"

After she shook away every peachy emotion that captivated her mind, the fine woman slightly pulled an iron-sword out of her scabbard, and stretched a cocky smile across her patty lips.

Unsurprisingly she slightly yelled, "Sure as ever!"

Since he was quite pleased with such an answer, Steve got an urge to get this task over with right away.

Necessarily the frogs he wanted to meet with, were the same ones that he owed ten-thousand gold coins to, apparently?

As for now he grew increasingly affected by some external irritation. In other words, he felt the skin-pinching grasp of this morning's cold breeze.

So he peeked at the merchant and questioned, "Do you sell coats or anything that can keep me warm?"

With a bit of effort, the tall man pulled out a neatly folded bit of cloth from underneath his desk.

And afterwards he reached over, so he could hand it to the little man who requested such an item.

In the process the taller explained, "This here is a coat made from moose fur. See it's worth roughly two-hundred gold coins."

Steve definitely didn't have such an amount of spare change to give. He had a few diamond coins instead, but they were worth a thousand gold each!

Obviously it would be a bad deal to leave an eight-hundred gold coin tip, so other things had to be bought as well.

So after Steve put this new coat on, he had to question. "Can you get me another one? Can't have my new friend here catch a cold now, right?"

The merchant revealed a small smile, but yet it was the biggest one he had stretched until now. Afterwards he bent over to fetch the requested merchandise.

In the meantime, the younger frog got a good glimpse of just how well this fur-wear befitted him.

The fabric itself was lightly dark coloured, and felt quite thick too; so undoubtedly a full-grown moose was killed just to obtain such grand fur.

Towards that detail he just had to lightly joke, "I'm not so proud of looking like a moose, but this will have to do."

He peeked at the merchant to acknowledge just how much he enjoyed the joke, but the chubby man's head was still under the desk.

However, he still began to feel the warmth that such a hairy coat unleashed, towards the surface of his skin.

The comfort he got from it was almost other-wordly. And it seemed especially convenient how the fur reached almost down to his knees.

Every bit of gold-coin was worth it for such an asset. And he could see that his new body-guard was a bit excited too.

The lady tried to remove her whole chest armour, just so she could slip in the coat a bit easier.

So Steve was blessed with a view that featured both enough curves, and finely built muscle-mass.

So he had to encourage, "Take your time, you don't want to hurt yourself."

The young man expressed this in a joking manner, but he secretly wanted to saviour this moment.

Through quite a bit of struggle, the latter contradicted. "My mother could lift two goats with one arm, a little iron can't hurt me!"

"I believe you," The young man's lips wiggled like a worm, as he tried to hold laughter in.

This lady had to pull the armour upwards which necessarily revealed quite a bit of her belly-skin. And there was enough to see, as she simply was the definition of a dream-body.

A pair of six pack abs stretched across her belly, and her toned hips asserted dominance across her lower-back; so surely there was a lot to comprehend.

But eventually she threw the moose fur around her body, and then put on the chest armour piece by piece.

The straps that supported each portion had to be settled a bit tighter, but she finally seemed prepared.

The lady even twirled a couple of times after she put the coat on. And waved her big arms as well, just to figure out if this new coat was restrictive.

Eventually she peeked at her employer and shared a smile, "Thank you for your kindness. This is the warmest day I have had on Ankamus."

Steve nodded and smiled as well, but he sure as hell didn't know what this 'Ankamus' thing stood for?

The system picked up such confusion so she decided to intervene.

[Ankamus is the city you're currently roaming in,]

[It's the capital of this entire country. This will help you understand why the domain is so sizeable]

"I get it... So it's necessary to live in peace here, right? This city has useful places that can help me get stronger." He questioned with a thought.

[Correct,]

And peace was something that he aimed for right now. That was why his eyes dotted towards the weapons which coated an entire wall in the shop.

He wanted those debt-collectors to understand that he would go beyond the line to maintain peace; metal itself could help deliver such a statement if things got out of hand.

Yet he wasn't the most used to weapons of any sort, so he wanted to start with something very small.

That was why he eyed the few iron-daggers that were all piled together in a single spot.

The merchant noticed such interest so he informed from a distance, "Those daggers there cost a hundred each, they are extra sharp."

"I'll take six of them," Steve informed.

And afterwards he pulled another diamond coin out of his pocket, and flicked it towards the merchant.

Thankfully the other managed to catch the currency with quite some efficiency.

As for the young man, he handed a couple of daggers to his body-guard, as he aimed to be a tad strategic.

Necessarily he had to specify, "These are yours now. They are just daggers, so don't be scared to toss them if anyone tries to be funny."

As for the four other daggers, he kept them for himself and hid them across quite a few portions of his body.

Steve hoped that he wouldn't have a reason to use these sharp tools, as he was utterly untrained in any type of melee weapons.

But if the situation led to a fight, he felt sure that a one-foot-long dagger could help assert dominance against any bit of skin.

However; with all these purchase deals done, the couple of frogs headed out of the shop. They aimed to search for those debt-collectors.

Before they left, Steve faced the merchant and said softly. "Thank you for the warm welcome... you're a good man."
