3 Chapter 3 : Academy

It's been about an hour since my meeting with Luce and if I have to say Luce is a good type of person who is straightforward in speech but at the same time she also seems shy.

It can be seen from the blush that often appears on his face accompanied by nervousness when talking, I do not know how isolation is done by people in this world to him but seeing how bland our conversation for some time later I can know the level of ability to communicate.

I can at least guess that I'm his first mate or something, the awkwardness that existed during this hour is a testament to that.

Although I wouldn't say that I'm much better than her but at least I can still have a normal conversation with the people around me.

From Luce, I also learnt that Märchen Academy is divided into two parts, namely the Department of Magic and Knights. Luce herself was in the Magic Department.

Honestly, it was only recently that I found out this information from Luce and Shiro had never conveyed it before. And speaking of the identity I received from Shiro, I was a new student in the Department of Magic, with a mana grade of B- above C+ but below A in the first year magic class.

But the thing that caught my attention the most in the fake identity that Shiro made was my background of being a fallen noble. Although I don't have any income about it, I'm still quite curious about how the arrogant nobles in this academy would react when they find out that a former noble is studying with them.

My physical changes are also quite striking, especially my eyes which were previously pitch black. Now, they were a deep red colour, as if red blood was flowing in them.

My hair started to turn white, adopting the characteristic of SCP 040 JP (Shiro). Even so, I wasn't too bothered by this transformation, especially with the presence of a cat's tail and ears growing on my body which gave quite an adorable impression.

"So this is the 29th" I said after sending a beautiful student from the magic department to the corner of the tree in a stupor, while I took the mana points she had, at least I still had 10 mana points left for her.

I'm not a very cruel person you know?

In this forest Delphine everyone must do everything they can to survive at least it is used to determine the ranking of the future permanent class.

By collecting as many mana items as possible it can determine how proficient a student is. While I had collected around 300 mana points it was inversely proportional to Luce who had collected more than 800 mana points.

A very large amount when viewed from how faint the aura of the mana grains here is. Honestly I don't really care about that kind of thing.

In addition, class determination is also a benchmark for how a student will be treated by the academy. For example, a class A student will get special treatment like a king with various luxurious facilities that accompany them for the next 3 years.

While the D class students who are the worst of all will be treated like trash even I can guarantee that their dormitories must also look miserable.

And thanks to luce for happily giving me this information, while the information Shiro gave me was quite a lot but it only covered the basic logic of the world and was mostly about how my abilities as an SCP worked.

"Rizky, are you done?"

Standing behind me, Luce asked while looking at the female student I had just knocked out who didn't seem too interested.

"I'm done. But are you sure you don't want the mana items we've collected together? You also actively contributed to the collection," I offered.

This girl was so nice after all, I was even sure she would happily give away things as long as someone gave her attention.

A very bad situation if luce meets the wrong guy.

"Hm, no need. You need it more than me, after all I've accumulated a lot of mana items," she replied while shaking her head.

Seeing how this girl was acting so sweetly it made my heart seem warm.

Ah~ why is this world so unfair? They isolated this beautiful and sweet girl alone.

"Alright, but I won't just let this happen. In the future, I will definitely pay you back," I said firmly while ruffling Luce's hair.

Although I know this seems impolite but somehow I want to rub her hair.

Damn this is very soft even though it's a little dirty, maybe I'll be really addicted to this feeling.

After all it's not in my nature to take something for free because I know that the most expensive thing in this world is free, as the saying goes "there's no free lunch in this world"

"A-Ah! That's not necessary anyway isn't a friend supposed to help each other" Luce replied frantically, while removing my hand from her head.

"Of course, as friends, we have to help each other. But, Luce, as your friend, I will not be silent if you experience losses," I said while giving a warm smile.

"Eh? I told you it's okay, there's no need to be shy like that Rizky"

"Shhh~ I'll still pay for this in the future" I put my index finger on my lips while looking at Luce with certainty.

"Ha~ Just do what you want. Anyway, Rizky, we should go back now. It's been a while since the exam started," Luce said, shaking her head and changing the topic quickly.

Seeing this girl's funny behaviour I could only smile lightly before looking back up at the afternoon sky.

Thinking if Luce has a point, if I count the time since this exam started then it should have been almost 5 hours since then.

"Luce you're right, we'd better go back now or all these mana items will only be wasted if we're late giving it to the professor"

Deciding to go back and see the professor in charge of the exam, I let Luce lead the way to the forest exit, after all even with the explosion of information from Shiro and Luce it didn't give me the slightest knowledge of the geography of this forest.

It took at least 10-15 minutes for us to get out of the forest only to be greeted by a sea of people. Seeing how many people were gathered here I was reminded of the school festival in my previous world.

Honestly, I hate that kind of thing especially if everyone is standing close together it just gives off a strange smell in the air.

Walking amongst the crowds of people we queued up to give the mana items we had collected to the officials. But as we queued the gazes of various people headed towards the two of us.

Or rather towards luce who was standing in front of me in silence, I do not know why but the funny and friendly nature that he had seemed to disappear just replaced by a cold attitude.

I even had time to think if Luce in front of me are two different people from Luce I met before. But in contrast to the cold attitude that seems difficult to approach the cold attitude aimed luce more towards elegant and charismatic.

While it will make people - people without hesitation will listen to what he says, although I doubt there will be people who dare to talk to him directly.

Perhaps this coldness is the result of the isolation of the people around her. Although I wanted to ask if she was okay but the cold atmosphere she gave prevented that.

But even though Luce tried to be cold her gentle and kind attitude was still more dominant, after all even though Luce showed a cold attitude at this time she still showed a friendly smile to the people around her occasionally.

About 10 minutes after we managed to give our mana points to the professor in the tent, we were told that the class division announcement would be announced tomorrow.

"So Luce, Thank you for your help today, it really helped me"

I looked at Luce who was still showing her cold demeanour, somehow I could even feel cold when sitting near her.

"Yeah, it's fine, after all Rizky has helped me in dealing with demons before, and that's more than enough for me to always be grateful"

Although her face looked expressionless and cold, I could see a slight smile on her lips.

"It's fine after all, it's an easy thing for me"

"Even though you say that, but you really helped me a lot before, after all if you hadn't appeared I would have been really in danger"

"No - no I know you still have the previous trump card, and if I don't come out you'll even be able to overcome that demon easily"

(Nya!, little brother I told you not to get too close to this girl, and look at her sudden coldness! That's very suspicious, Nya~)

Shiro suddenly interrupted in the middle of our conversation, but seeing that Shiro was still firm on his stance only made me sigh.

For some reason, it seems that Shiro really hates Luce.

Onee-Chan calm down, after all Luce is a pretty good girl

Honestly, why is this cat girl so paranoid about Luce? Although I know this SCP girl had a bad feeling about Luce in the beginning but after being with her for an hour Luce is pretty good as a friend.

(Little sister you haven't lived as long as me, otherwise you'd know how I felt when I saw this strange girl, Nya~)

Did this SCP girl forget that I was previously isolated from everyone? From that I got a valuable life lesson about the nature of all humans, but at least I can still see that Luce is still much better than all those people who gave me isolation.

Besides, if Luce is really in contact with another SCP what can I do to her? It's not like I'm going to take her life directly.

Onee-Chan I understand your worry but believe me if Luce is not dangerous, although she looks a little strong but I'm sure I can still defend myself if something dangerous happens

I tried to convince Shiro but it seemed futile.

(I'm not worried about the other SCP, but I just feel like this girl has something dark in her heart, Nya~)

"No, Rizky you're praising me too much, after all you're very strong yourself" Luce said with a small smile on her face.

After that, we continued our chat for some time until we finally parted ways and promised to meet again tomorrow.

Walking around the academy I can tell that this academy really exists in another world, like how some races other than humans occasionally pass by and even occasionally I can see random students using magic.

There I was also able to see some strange animals that I couldn't find on earth, it was honestly a very good experience considering that even the rich people in my previous world didn't even have luxuries like this.

But as I continued walking while occasionally admiring some of the things here, something around the corner caught my attention, sitting in the corner of a dark alley, was a beautiful girl who was sleeping there.

She looked very comfortable with her situation.

'Is she homeless?

'No! That shouldn't be possible. After all, the girl was wearing the same academy uniform as Luce but without any rips or damage.

She had messy hair while her sleeping face seemed to give comfort and good feelings to others who saw her.

Approaching the girl slowly, I saw that she seemed to be disturbed by my presence that began to approach her. Opening her eyes the girl looked at me questioningly.

"You?" she asked with sleepy eyes, while her matted hair looked like it was in disarray it somehow gave her a special charm.
