Chapter 12 - Ghost

As promised, Hyun brought Mia woo into a BBQ place where they sat down ordering before asking for some Soju. He was not that inclined with the modern taste of alcohol as they lacked the flavor of being handmade. They all tasted mass produced, removing the quality of the alcohol. 

Still their seasoned meat was better than his former world having access to spices. Hyun waited for their meal to cook in front of them while he just listened to the news. 

'Maybe I should join the army?'

He immediately shut the idea knowing that he would have to abide by the law unless he showed his worth, which isn't ideal and might even consider him a potential threat. Hyun had many things to consider when deciding in his course of action making sure to avoid any possible danger that might come his way. 

"So…you mention that you'll be having more women?"

Hyun was about to take a bite at the newly cooked meat when Mia suddenly asked him a question. He was surprised that she hadn't asked him much sooner. Mia wasn't even jealous and only felt that she might be left in the dust if he did find another woman and won't keep his promise. 

"I did, it's part of our deal. I warn you that once we begin this relationship of ours then you wouldn't be able to leave me. If you're thinking I'll forget about you then remember that I would let you escape me."

Hyun said, making it clear that he's not one who would throw her away that easily unless he angered him by being disloyal. 

"Then what do I need to do? Your booty call?"

"No, I need you to be useful to me. There's a few things I'm planning on doing."

"By doing what?"

"I'll come to you when I have a job for you. For now we should focus on getting to know each other."

Hyun might start a business soon and Mia Woo might be useful as his assistance. He planned on trying to know what aspect she can help in running his business. The [ Business Tycoon ] gave him the ability to understand a person's capabilities in business. 

Mia Woo decided to stop and enjoy their dinner. She drank a couple of Soju, feeling a bit tipsy while looking at Hyun pondering why she offered herself to someone like him. It made her a certain regret unsure if her choice was the right decision. 

"Will Miss Young be your woman?"

"Yes. You and Miss Young are one who I have strong interest in."

"Reaaally? You're saying you like me before you change?"

"Of course, I wouldn't have agreed if I wasn't. Though my feelings are in disarray and uncertain now that I've changed. It is strange as if I truly became a new person."

He acted as if he was bewildered by everything despite knowing full well what truly happened. Hyun wasn't the sharpest tool in the shed since he is more straightforward and couldn't find a better lie than this. Obviously no one would believe him nor deny his claim.

Hyun knew that even though he had changed doesn't mean it stopped people from messing with him. He just needs to exert his dominance and increase his influences by finding a backing.  It's important to have power, wealth and influence. The three things that are vital to avoid getting devoured by the masses. 

He had to keep reminding himself that this is not a murim world where the might makes right. Mia Woo just gave up thinking about it since she won't get any answer from him and at best just accepts things are. 

"Enough about that, let's just finish up since we still have school tomorrow."

She nodded as the two finished their meal before Hyun took her home while he headed back home staring at the Haechi figurine that was eager to curse him but he wasn't worried about it. When he was just strolling back home was when he spotted a store selling a mask and a murim cosplay. 

He headed inside looking around spotting a mask that was like a black wolf. It was to hide his identity when he finally decided to massacre anyone that gets in his way. While the robe was just for the sake of having one. 

'Not bad, it reminds me of my old self…'

Hyun muttered under his breath looking at himself in the mirror and afterwards paid for the items before heading home where he arrived to find the empty apartment. His father seems to be at work, allowing him enough time to refine the Haechi figurine. 

He placed the items he bought to the side before inspecting the figure then placed it in front of him while he sat in lotus position. Hyun's first step was to take off his clothes since he knew that he'll release more impurities upon cultivating.

Once that was done began to use his [ Chaos Sutra ] instantly a dreadful aura came out of the Haechi figuring as the lingering soul screamed in anguish.

"You! You! You!!!! Kill!!! Kill!!"

It roared filling the room with a ghostly presence that any normal person would suffocate and traumatize from the sight. In a flash, Hyun's eyes opened as his own Qi exploded, overshadowing the ghost who became weaker as it witnessed horrid. 

"Are you a feisty one? Too bad you met me. I don't know why you have become like this, however, a ghost should not remain in this world."

Hyun's own Qi manifested itself into demonic presence as it attacked the ghost who tried to defend itself but was unable to keep up as he was overwhelmed by his opponent's power and control. He proceeded to devour the essence of the ghost turning into pure energy before absorbing it into his body and immediately began to churn inside his body. 

His body began to tense up as his blood, flesh, organs, bones and muscle were being refined by the energy. Hyun released black substance from his body and impurities poured out from his pores. His once black eyes turn into bloodsoaked red while emanating a suffocating demonic aura around him.  

The Jade Haechi became silent as the soul passed on letting Hyun feel gratitude from the soul he exorcise. He stared silently into nothingness before sighing. 

"May you find peace in your next life."

He did a prayer since even if his methods are ruthless and had demonic property doesn't mean he attacks the innocent and only kills if those people have intent to kill him.

Hyun philosophy is that so long no one messes with him or those important to him then it's fine but once they step foot in the line that he set then no one would stop him from ending their life. 

'I'm certain this type of lingering ghost shouldn't be this power unless someone is nurturing it…'

Ghost cultivators are rather mysterious and cowardly, preferring to attack in the shadows using ghosts as their weapon. Hyun was certain that the original owner of the jade was planning on cultivating the spirit and refining it once it had grown enough. 

'Too bad it met me. I'll wait until he comes for me.'

He was certain that the Murim world still exists in this world and if they were a hidden master then things would be a lot more interesting.

Hyun took the empty Jade Haechi and just placed it as decoration as he went to take a shower and call it a night.

"What!? How can this be!? Who dared destroy what I've been working for the past several years!!"

In a dark and dimly lit room a roaring voice could be heard as dreadful energy was released out of their body as rage fueled their mind. This person was the Ghost Martial artist who had been making items that had lingering ghosts in order to make them stronger before refining them to make them stronger. Now one of its items had been easily destroyed.

'Who could it be? It was easily destroyed like it was nothing!?'

The ghost cultivator was trying to find 

'I need to find this person and kill him!'

He spoke maniacally, having traced where the person was and couldn't wait to find them. The ghost cultivator vanished, heading its way to kill Hyun.
