11 Chapter 11 - Jade Haechi

The two of us headed into the cafeteria where people were still looking at the two of us strangely. They thought Mia was taking advantage of me getting strong for protection which was not a complete lie. He didn't deny her approach and desired something in exchange for her body. She might feel regretful in starting a relationship with me but seeing I was her only comfort right now didn't have much of a choice.

I just sighed at the people and took Mia a bit closer to me, making a weird noise in surprise as we finished ordering our lunch and sat down. Throughout it all we just have small talks from random likes and dislikes letting feel more comfortable around me. Her impression might be that became heartless after my sudden change but was surprised how careful I treated her.

After lunch we head back to our class and finish the rest of it and finally get the chance to head home. Mira Woo strides beside me as we head to the city since I was hoping to at least find something useful.

"Before we head to the market. Can I ask a favor?"

"What would that be?"

"Well because of my sudden change I haven't gotten a new set of clothes. I was wondering if I can get your opinion in choosing?"

They're fashion was strange to me since I was used to wearing long robes and can't adapt to their trend. The old Hyun was too pathetic and a loser to even buy decent losing clothes with most being long sleeves. Seeing her surprise expression seemed to giggle since I was just at loss when it came to fashion.

"Then let's go, I'll choose some great outfits for you."

"Great, while we're at it, you can also buy some if you want."

"Wait, do you have the money to buy them?"

She asked me, making me chuckle since I'm not short on cash and would eventually have more for later once I head to the underground fighting ring.

"I have, I still have the bet that Gunner is supposed to get."

Mia nodded as we headed to the mall where I'm still amazed how this world became. It made me feel at peace because this is the kind of world I wanted to retire but seeing that it would be impossible with sufficient strength, I'll keep getting stronger until nothing can stop me in achieving what I want.

I followed the young woman taking quite a lot of selection, having completely shifted making me smile. She placed some of the clothes in my chest trying to see how well it looked and handed me a few of them.

Getting into the dressing room and existed to show how I looked in my new clothes. The first outfit was just a plain shirt and jeans that perfectly fit my body.

"How do I look? Is it good?"

"Hmmm, It's a bit too plain. Let's try another."

In the end, I ended up as a doll being dressed in numerous types of clothes. I did prefer the looser outfit like a simple shirt and overcoat. Perhaps I'll buy some robes laters since I am just used to wearing them.

I can at least be certain that Mia was enjoying this and went to the counter to pay for the clothes before it was her turn to buy her own outfit. Didn't even feel any shame being in the women's section and ignored those thirsty bitches since they don't pose any interest in me. If I want sex then I can just find brothel or even asked Mia but I'm not an addict and aim for woman that would be utmost loyal to me.

Obviously I doubt that Mia would find another man behind back considering I'll kill both of them without hesitation. Disloyalty is something I despise even if I sound hypocritical considering I want to regain my harem.

She showed me a wide array of outfits giving each my opinion even though my words aren't reliable. After paying for everything we went to our original designation.

"You can go home if you want? There's no need to drag yourself with me."

"Really? I was expecting you to at least treat me for dinner?"

"....guess I'm lacking in my dating skills huh? Alright, it's still early. Let's head to the market first to find some antiques, then we can grab some BBQ."

I did try my best to act in a certain way but our way is completely different from how it was in my old world. I don't know how to date a woman and because of how alof I am at times forget how to act properly. Perhaps, I should lessen my pursuit in my power considering what I'm feeling is fear of losing what I have again.

"You alright? You became oddly quiet?"

Mia asked, looking at me strangely.

"I'm fine, just thought of something troubling me. Anyways, we're always there."

"Hope you don't mind me asking but what do you need antiques for? Planning on finding something that is worth more than it looks?"

Maybe but the thing I'm looking for is old herbs and an item that contains a ghost that is unable to pass on. I would be able to absorb its Ghost Qi and refine it using my [ Chaos sutra ]. It won't help me break through the [ Transcendent Realm ] but at least further shape my foundation and help strengthen myself.

I am at the peak of the human condition or people might call it superhuman. My power is oddly capable of dodging small to medium firearms but rapid fire and sniper would be far too much for me. I'm not a Xianxia character, I came from the Murim world where it's more toned down in terms of our power. Though, at my peak I'm capable of destroying Multiple continents because the Murim world is a lot larger than earth.

"Maybe, I did some research online and might get a few bucks if I'm lucky."

It was a clever lie in my opinion. I'm not that great with planning and scheming which is why I need someone trustworthy who would have the same end goal as I do. Nonetheless, I am not naive and easily tricked especially now I have [ Business Tycoon ].

"Do you think you'll do something worth any penny?"

"Won't hurt to try….beside my wallet."

My weak joke made her pause then giggle. I didn't expect my dry sense of humor would make her laugh.

"We're telling a joke?"

"Yeah, was it bad?"

I asked, trying to at least try to slowly make ourselves comfortable.

"It's terrible and frankly dry, especially how straight you said it."

I just laugh it off before we just continue our stroll until we arrive at the market that is dimly lit and rather shows quite the spectacle. The place reminds me of my old town where I was the children running around who would steal in order to survive. They were much luckier seeing that laws were more concrete than his old world where the strong always prevails.

I'm not enough to say this world doesn't have them but at least I was lesser than my own. I noticed Mia Woo was looking around, especially the street food.

"Can you give us two please?"

I said to the vendor giving us our little snack as we walked around the night market. Mia seems to enjoy our little trip as I just enjoy our time while trying to sense if they were anything that I'm losing for.

Mia Woo went to check something, leaving me to walk around alone and spot the place I'm looking for.

"How much for that Jade figurine?"

I stared at the jade hachi figurine containing quite the horrid ghost Qi with a lingering soul trapped within it. It won't be easy to refine it but I'm confident enough I won't find any issue. I took and held it a bit feeling its dreadful curse and hatred only made me eager to tame it.

"I can sell this for…"

He gave me an amount that was neither expensive nor cheap. It was just decoration therefore won't cost me that much. I handed him the money after converting my money in the inventory into Won.

Finishing my purchase went to look for Mia Woo looking at a necklace with a jade attached at the end.

"If you want it then we can buy it?"

I said as I went beside her looking closer at the item she was inspecting. Maybe I should make protection charms? I may not be an adept in formation and inscription like those experts but I at least know basic ones.

There are so many enemies who use tricks like those that force me to understand them and use them against them. Or at least help me gain a little edge against their talisman.

"You've already bought me new clothes and just thought this looked interesting."

I just nodded, not wanting to force her and help Mia feel that she isn't a freeloader. We just decided to head and grabbed for our dinner before we head home.
