1 Prologue

Livia Lumiere Carlos softly whispered to herself, “Happy Wedding Anniversary to me,” as she gently extinguished the candle atop the cake she had acquired just moments before.

The clock struck ten in the evening, and still her husband had not arrived. Despite making multiple attempts to reach out, she found herself met with silence as George remained unresponsive. She is filled with worry; a sense of unease is creeping in, as if something ominous is unfolding.

Livia has been aware for quite some time that her marriage is deteriorating. She was aware that she had poured her heart and soul into salvaging their marriage, driven by her deep affection for George. She had bestowed upon him all that he desired, leaving herself with nothing to spare. Livia couldn’t help but notice the contradicting nature of the wine—sweet yet bitter.

She couldn’t help but feel a tinge of bitterness herself as she pondered this observation. With no one by her side except for George, she couldn’t help but notice the chilliness in his demeanor towards her over the past few months. Nonetheless, she had never given up on him. Not only pleasing him, but also his entire family.

Livia’s gaze fell upon the table. The food appeared delicious, yet she lacked the desire to partake in a meal.

She left ahead of schedule in order to make the necessary preparations, only to find that her efforts were in vain. Just as the woman was preparing to rise from her seat, her phone suddenly began to ring. A notification appears in her inbox.

The number that appeared on the screen was unfamiliar. Livia’s nerves kicked in as she opened the message.

From: Unknown Number

Go to your apartment building’s room 465. You’ll find your spouse and his mistress there.

Upon perusing the text, Livia’s complexion turned pallid, as if drained of all color. She is aware that this accusation is not without foundation, as the message aimed to ensure she had firsthand knowledge of the truth.

The woman’s body trembles with anticipation, desperately hoping that the message she received is not true. Livia mustered the courage to rise from her chair despite feeling weak. Nonetheless, she managed to stand.

As she headed outside, her heart rate instantly doubled. The room was located on a separate floor, just one level above their apartment. Without jumping to conclusions, she refrained from making any immediate assumptions.

The reason behind her cautious approach was the possibility of it being yet another prank text, a recurring occurrence in her life. As she ascended in the lift, a chill crept through her body, a telltale sign of her mounting nervousness.

Livia found herself tormented by the journey to the floor, where the room awaited her. As she entered the floor, her eyes widened, and a gasp escaped her lips upon hearing the unmistakable sounds of moaning and gasping emanating from the floor ahead.

Livia’s knees grew weak as she recognized the sound of her husband's voice. The door was not closed and locked properly. “Oh, goodness gracious! Letty, you truly are the best! You surpasses Livia in every way imaginable!” Livia listened attentively, her keen ears picking up the sound clearly.

In an instant, she recognized the unmistakable owner of this apartment. Her eyes welled up with tears, which soon cascaded down her cheeks. In a fit of anger, she directed her frustration towards the door, delivering a swift kick.

“How could you do this to me?” Livia let out a piercing scream. In the living room, Livia found herself in the presence of two individuals whom she held great trust in. They were both unclothed, intimately intertwined, and engaged in a passionate act of love.

Livia’s sudden appearance startled them, causing them to stand up. Livia’s vision became blurred with tears, yet the individuals standing before her displayed no trace of guilt or remorse.

“George, how can I explain it? How could you have done this to me? I did everything for you, even if it meant sacrificing my pride. I believed that we had a strong bond of friendship, Letty.” With a forceful burst of sound, she let out a piercing scream that resonated through the room, nearly overwhelming her own ears.

As Livia cast her gaze upon them, she couldn't help but notice the smug expressions adorning their faces. “I am pleased that you have already discovered this. I am filing for annulment. I just married you so I can have a high position in the company,” George told her, as if she didn’t exist in his eyes.

“I’ve been in love with Letty since then. Now that she’s wealthy, we could be together,” the cheater murmured as he kissed his mistress.

Upon hearing those words from her beloved husband, Livia felt her heart constrict with an indescribable sensation. In an instant, her heart begins to race uncontrollably, overwhelmed by the intensity of what she has just witnessed.

“Livia, we are not friends. We are merely utilizing you,” Letty stated, her grin widening.

Livia was taken aback, and then she found herself utterly speechless. The spinning of her world came to a halt. She was struck by a sudden realization as memories flooded her thoughts.

“I did not have feelings of love towards you.” She heard George speak.

Now, everything is clear. Her knees trembled and she felt as if she were about to pass out. She served as nothing more than a tool for their convenience.

A bitter laugh escaped her lips. ‘Indeed, I am such an idiot. I became their obedient slave! You are such an idiot, Livia!’

The agonizing pain in Livia’s heart caused her body to tremble, and she took a step back. Leaving those cheaters! She refrained from giving anything to them.

She lacked any reason to do so. Clutching her chest, she made an attempt to retreat towards the elevator.

She had no desire to remain in the same building as those two individuals. Livia hesitated as she reached out to press the elevator button, a sudden sensation of unease gripping her heart. She descended to the ground, her body succumbing to the agony, and emitted a vocal expression of distress.

“Help!” Despite her efforts to call for help, no one came to her aid. No one arrived, not even those deceitful individuals, to offer assistance to her. Due to the severity of the pain, Livia found herself writhing on the ground.

Livia found herself in a situation where her cries went unheard, leaving her without any assistance. It was at that moment that she came to the realization that her time had come.

As her body began to weaken, she mustered the strength to express a wish, hoping that it would somehow come true.

“If fate gives me a chance, I promise you two that you will suffer. You will all kneel in front of me, and I will laugh at all of you. Because whoever stands in my way, I will mercilessly trample them,” she promised. “Livia, the foolish, the slave, and the errant girl, is no more.”
