10 The Isle of Armour

[•—•{James Morgan}•—•]

"Thank you for the lift!"

Thanking both Corviknight and the driver? Flyer? Which ever one it is, I wave back at the flying taxi as I made my way to the front desk of the train station.

"No problem mate, have a great time in Galar!"

"Growlithe!"

"Rioo!"

With my three gang of misfits I started to look around the place, but I ended up quickly losing interest as it looked like a carbon copy of the previous train station I was in before.

I mean the bricks are the same colour, the front desk looks the same with all the signs being in the same place with just different names.

The shops are a bit different at least.

'Damn I just realised that a 8 year old was just told safely visit another country without any supervision.'

I'm not sure what my parents or Hopkins was thinking but that's pretty fucked up.

Walking up to the front desk with a nervous look as I was kind of unsure of this place now.

"Hello my names James, I've got a ticket to join the dojo on this island. Can you tell me the basic directions or a map please." I say with a pitiful look. The person at the front desk looking at formal suit wearing kid in front of him, just shrugs his shoulders and pulls out a brochure.

"This should be what your looking for kid." The guy says handing me the brochure. "The walking trail from the train station leads directly to the dojo so you shouldn't get too nervous. Just you wait till you meet Mustard." The man croaks out laughing to himself.

Taking the brochure like it was my lifeline, I thank the guy.

*Growl~ 3x*

"I guess we're all hungry." I chuckle out seeing my Pokemons embarrassed faces. Of course this didn't include Metang who didn't need food but could consume metals.

'Hmm how much money is in my personal account?' I wonder as I check my bag. Since I've arrived at the Pokemon world, there weren't any phones.

So to satiate my bored ass self. I replaced it with training and learning essential things a trainer needed.

While I still think I could learn more, my knowledge should exceed most starting trainers.

Opening my bag and imagine money, and to my surprise a stack of pokedollar bills just pop into my hands.

"Holy shit these are just all 50s." I quietly murmur. Now with a wide smile realising the amount is probably in the millions, I buy some food for myself, Riolu and Growlithe.

"Woof!"

"Riolu?"

Growlithe just ended up enjoying his croissant while Riolu looked at it confused. We spent at least half an hour taking our time before we were satisfied.

This whole little break did gain some stares of course because of my Pokemon for obvious reason. Ignoring these looks like the rest I started to head outside of the station.

"Meta metang!" Metang hums in delight seeing the lush grass fields and enormous mountains in the distance.

Looking down at the brochure is locate where we are.

"Fields of Honor is up a head with normal towns folks houses across the walking path."

Reading it straight from the map is decide we should explore a little bit.

"Metang just remember the way back to this spot okay?"

"Meta!"

Walking through the vey flat walking trail. I passed through quite a few islanders and kids on the way to the place.

In the games the Isle of Armour didn't have any locals do this is new information to me. We kept on walking until I made it to a spot to where I could view to beach.

There were Pokemon such as Buneary and Jigglypuff casually walking around in the grass. At the beach I could spot multiple Krabby and Staryu just resting feeling the ocean waves.

"If I'm gonna be a water type gym leader I may as well catch some water type Pokemon."

Saying this I my way to the beach with my Pokemon avoiding every other Pokemon.

"Okay Riolu you got this."

"Rioolu!"

Riolu doing a mock salute gets in front of me in a fighting stance. Now in front of a lone Krabby, I start the attack.

I should probably end this quickly and not drag the fight out. Dangers wonder everywhere in the wild.

"Use [Work Up] twice then finish it off with an [Aura Sphere]."

"Rioo!"

Riolu taking his time to set up as it wasn't a front on battle, powered himself up twice before forming a blue sphere in his hands.

*Boom!*

The attack hitting the resting Krabby made decent explosion which covered the beach. After the dust settles I could see a proud Riolu with a fainted Krabby on the shore.

"Set up moves make dealing with wild Pokemon so much easier."

It's a tip I learned when with Bill out and about. Why walk into a battle you could potentially risk your life when you could set up before hand?

It's honestly something so simple that you could forget it.

"Great job Riolu, rest up a bit to regain your stamina as [Work Up] takes up a little bit of energy." I say congratulating the little guy. Walking up to the fainted Krabby I grab a Pokeball from my bag and catch it.

'I'm gonna need more than one Krabby to rotate through battles in a gym.' I think to myself.'

"Metang set up [Reflect] and [Light Screen] on you and Growlie so you can each get a Krabby"

"Growl!"

"Tang tang!"

Both Pokemon getting pumped up use their set up moves and head towards a line Krabby. While they did this I caught a flailing Magikarp.

'I'll practise of raising this Magikarp to get a feel on how to train my main one later on.'

Growlie finished his Krabby off quickly with a [Thunder Fang]. While Metang used a [Psychic] and [Zen Headbutt] combo.

With two new Krabbys added to my team making it three, I search around for a bit longer.

"Rioo!"

Riolu informs pointing at a spot. Looking at the area I see a Rockruff pack walking around.

"Good save let's move a little further."

Moving a little bit more to the right side of the beach, we spotted some more Krabby with Staryu and Clauncher that I wanted to catch.

"Okay your up again Riolu, use [Work Up] once and go for an [Aura Sphere]." I command keeping it safe. Riolu complying without any complaint, does the same thing as before.

*Boom*

But instead of a peaceful encounter, multiple Staryu and the single Clauncher headed towards the explosion.

"Damnit." I murmur seeing the Pokemon group up. "Metang is your set up moves still up?" I question. Seeing that Metang nodded making me sigh in relief. Theres no time to set up when you could get attacked, it's simply not worth it when there's a group.

"Growlie play passive and use [Swift], Metang use [Psychic] and move forward. Riolu come back!" While saying my command it took a little bit to say this, because of that a few [Water Gun]s were heading towards Riolu's way.

*Swoosh* 5x

Riolu playing it safe uses [Protect] as I've taught him if he was in a situation separated from the group.

With the little guy now safe my Pokemon let out their own attacks on the group of four Staryu and one Clauncher.

*Boom*

More hits went through but none of the opposing Pokemon went down, with only a few scratches showing up on their bodies.

"Staryuu!"

"Claw!"

The Clauncher proceeded to use [Bubble Beam] seemingly to cover for the four [Rapid Spin] Stayu's heading for Metang.

"Growlithe [Swift] on the [Bubble Beam], Metang dodge by floating upwards." I shout quickly returning the favour. But because of my lack of field vision and tunnel vision. I don't see the Staryu aiming for Riolu.

Riolu seeing the Staryu heading for him uses [Vacuum Wave] to take out one but gets hit by the other three.

"Rioo!" Riolu howls in pain as it gets hit three times. Even with [Reflect] the attacks did massive damage.

"Oh shit. Metang go help Riolu, use [Psychic] on all the Staryu." I shout. Metang quickly reacting, shoved all the Staryu to the floor taking out two of the already three who were still active.

*Swoosh*

Unknown to me, a [Water Pulse] from Clauncher makes it past and hits. Growlie which sends him flying back.

"Fucking hell."

Completely stressed out I return Riolu to his Pokeball as he fainted from the attacks. With Growlie making it back to my side with Metang, the battle boiled down to a 2v2.

"Shit its using [Hone Claws]." I shout seeing the Clauncher.

"Metang [Bullet Punch] to get closer to the Clauncher and use [Zen Headbutt]. Growlie get the Staryu and use [Thunder Fang]."

While I commanded my Pokemon. The [Reflect] and [Light Screen] wore off with a little glimmer at the end.

*Swoosh*

Staryu tried to use [Water Pulse] and [Water Gun] multiple times on Growlie, but with his speed he was able to dodge and finish the thing off.

"Metang!" I hear my Metang shout in distress. Looking over I see the guy in Clauncher claw and being slam to the ground with [Smack Down].

"Growlie one more [Thunder Fang] I command the tired puppy Pokemon. Growlie getting a determined face to help one of its own, runs up and hits Clauncher's blind spot.

"Growlithe!"

"Nice, great job guys. I'll heal you guys after I secure the catches." I say relieved pulling out five Pokeballs. There were no other Pokemon thankfully and I safely caught four Staryu's and a Clauncher.

After letting the adrenaline go down and start to relax a bit, I pulled out some potions and and sent out Riolu.

"Rioo?" Riolu growls in confusion. It got knocked out so it didn't know what happened to the battle.

"Don't worry we won the battle."

Taking a four potions, I heal up the squad as they show sour faces at the pain of getting healed. Besides Metang of course, I rewarded him with the chance to eat some of the extra Pokeballs I have.

"Metang!"

"Graw lithe?"

"Luuu!"

Laughing at my Pokemons little interactions I let them rest up before starting to pack up. Of course I had quite a few Pokemon now but I may as well go for maybe one more.

"Let's go find one more Pokemon guys." I announce. My Pokemon getting serious looks started to follow me with a goal in mind.

To win.

But no fighting would happen anyways..

The whole fight from before hand only lasted seven minutes, and considering it took me 13 minutes prior to arriving.

It's only been 20 minutes since leaving the train station. So I may as well burn some more time as it was never specified when I should of arrived.

"Let's look around here."

Searching around the high grass which was next to a cave. I spotted a lot of new Pokemon which came from different regions.

'This island has so many varieties of Pokemon.' I think to myself. The Pokemon I spotted were Inkay, Buneary, Sawk and Rockruff. The sad thing is that they were in a large group so I couldn't go for them.

But after a while of searching I found an interesting Pokemon.

"Chancey chance!" A Chancey happily says a loud as it eats a few berries.

"Guys we won't fight it immediately and if things go right we won't need to at all." I inform my Pokemon. With the three of them nodding and guarding my sides, I walk up to the Chancey with a calm look.

"Chance?"

The Chancey looking at me just sits there confused and keeps her guard down. Getting closer I just pull out a Pokeball and tap Chancery's head.

*Phssszszszt*

*Ding!*

"Wow an instant catch." I mutter in surprise. Well at least I don't need to convince it too much now that it's my Pokemon.

With all of that settled I let my greed go as I decided to finally head to the dojo.

"I wonder how things will go."

Walking back to the walking trail with Metang's help. I walked towards the dojo passing a few houses and towns people. Seeing the dojo a good distance away I suddenly heard a voice.

"Hey, you got quite the strong Pokemon. Ya wanna battle?" I hear from the corner of my ears. Looking to my left I see a teenager seemingly a few years older than me who has purple hair, have a wide grin holding a Pokeball.
