Chapter 14:I’m Sorry.

Shane left and Brett did as well. He knew Arnold needed some time alone.

The Garden was a calm environment where he came to cool off each time he was angry.

He sat there for hours and he didn't even realize it was already Evening.

It was about 5pm. He was seated at a bench looking up to the sky. Just then it hit him. Jenna hasn't had breakfast!

He thought for a moment then he walked into the Mansion. He got a tray of food from a maid and he walked up to her room. He was now at her door. He knocked but she didn't respond.

"That was unusual " he thought. Then he knocked again. And still no response.

He slightly opened the door. He saw her sitter on the bed with her head buried in between her legs and her arms across it.

She looked up to see him standing in front of her. She was in tears, her face was red. She was relieved at the sight of the food that was in the tray he held but she remained calm.

"I knocked. But you didn't say a word. What's the matter?" He walked to her and placed the tray on the table that was next to the bed.

"Did she appear to you again?"He looked at her and placed his arms across his chest.

She shook her head in response.

"Then what?" He stood facing her. This time he was so handsome than ever. He wore a black long sleeve top which was folded to his elbow. He looked really ravishing.

She admired him as if it were the first time she saw him. Just then her stomach growled loudly. She held it more tight.

"Did you really had to do that now?." She cursed inwardly.

"You're hungry. I brought you food." He glanced back at the food.

She turned to the food which was beside her then she looked at Arnold and then back to the food.

Arnold held the tray and carefully placed it on the bed.

She really wanted Arnold to let her have her food alone but he was still standing there glaring at her. She thought he wasn't giving her space to breathe. Arnold studied her face then he said.

"Why are you looking at me like that? You want me to leave?"

"Mm..no..I just.." she stuttered then Arnold cut her off.

"It's nothing Jenna. I'll leave. " he turned around and was about leaving.

"I..I didn't ask you to leave. Stay, please." She said with that sweet melodic voice.

"Why? You don't seem comfortable having me around." His back faced her.

"I..I just don't want to make you angry just like your brother did." She immediately regretted her words. She knew how much he hated Shane after what happened at the Dinning.

Arnold clenched his fist when he heard his name. Jenna saw that as she admired his broad shoulders. Arnold exhaled silently. He released his hand and turned to face her.

"He's not my brother." He said straightly then he put his hand at his back just like Royal Prince.

"But Mister." She spoke then he cut her off.

"I don't want to talk about it." His eyes changed its color again and this time it went red.

Jenna's eyes wondered in shock as she stared into his eyes. She looked at him with fear in her eyes. Arnold just stared at her confused. Then slowly he averted his gaze.

"Don't look, Jenna." He covered his eyes with his arm and turned around.

Jenna still looked with fear. She wondered what just happened. How can a man's eyes change from black to red? Her heart almost flew out of her chest. Now her heart was pounding. What would he do to her now??

Would he kill her now he was angry? She looked at him with fearful eyes.

"What if he turned around to face her with two horns at his head?" She thought then she grabbed a pillow closed by and held it close to her chest and Arnold left the room and went to God knows where.

Jenna completely lost her appetite . She covered her food and left it on the table.

She thought things through. "Probably he just wore a red contact lens to scare me or to make me believe he was wicked or evil right?." She tried not to get scared of him. She tried to convince herself that he just wore the red contact lens and nothing more. But the truth was that she was scared of him.

It was now dusk. She waited for Arnold but he never came. She went downstairs and asked for his whereabouts and she was directed to The Garden. And There he was.

He sat on a white porch swing looking at the green plants and flowers. Obviously he was lost in thought.

He didn't look angry. He was calm now. He was back to his normal self. He sat with a leg in the swing and his arm was placed on the knee while the other leg dangled.

Jenna stood watching him from the hallway entrance. After observing she walked to him and stood silent for a moment .

Arnold was so sensitive that he felt her present. She had a particular scent. She always applied a sweet scent oil and he knew it was her cause he had scar Ted it when he cuddled her to sleep.

"What are you doing here?" He asked but didn't turn around.

"How did you know I was here?." She slowly walked to him and Arnold gave her space to sit. She sat but not close to him.

"Let's just call it a gift. I had it since I was a child." His voice was now calm but he didn't want to go into details.

Jenna stayed silent for some minutes. Though she enjoyed the cool breeze that touched her skin. She always loved the beautiful garden. It was so colorful.

"Are you scared of me now?" He asked but didn't peered at her.

She was confused by the question then she knew he was talking about the incident that happened earlier.

"No. I'm not scared of you Mister Arnold cause I know you're a good man. You're just trying to scare people away from you but I don't know why." She said sincerely.

Arnold turned to her with his mouth slightly opened. She just amazed him. He wanted to say something but he felt he shouldn't.

He glanced at her then he slowly looked away.

"Found a job yet?" He asked.

"Why was he suddenly talking about the job? Did he want me to leave?? I had totally forgot about that." She said to herself

"Not yet, but I was thinking of visiting Grandma. It's been a while and I'd love to see her. She peeked through her lashes to know if his mood changed. But no, he had that same confused and calm look.

"You said you had no one here." He replied

"I'm sorry I lied. Fine, I ran away from home. Actually my parents died in a car accident. I was taken to a foster home then I was adopted by the old couple. I lived with him since I was five. I felt I was a burden to Grand ma so I left home. I'm sorry I lied to you. Even if you decide to throw me out. I wouldn't blame you. She looked down to her fingers playing with them.

"I wouldn't throw you out." He halted and blinked.

"And where does she stay?".

"Beverly Glen. She replied hoping he'd accept that she'd go visit her.

"That's about two hours long drive to get there." He replied.

"How did he know that? He had never been there before or has he?." She asked herself.

"When would you like to go?" He raised a brow.

"Tomorrow.." was she too fast with that?? Would he accept?? She thought.

"That's alright." He replied.

Jenna was so happy he agreed. She surely couldn't hide the big smile that was on her face right now. Arnold turned to see the excitement in her face. That was the first time he saw a genuine smile on her face and to him, he didn't know why but it somehow made him want to see more of her smiles.

Her smile was so beautiful that her dimples which were on both sides of her cheeks were visible.

Arnold blinked then looked away.

"We should go in now. It's quite late." He stood up and walked inside while Jenna followed.
