Chapter 12: I DON’T LOVE

He just stared at her as she slept. Her long lashes fell on her face and her lovely brown hair were scattered of her pillow as she rested her head on it.

Her both hands were on her stomach as she slept facing the ceiling.

Arnold took time to study her. Seriously he wasn't good at complimenting people but he couldn't do away with the fact that she was a goddess.

Arnold never loved anyone. The women that came around him were to satisfy his sexual pleasure. He wasn't drawn to them, he was never drawn to any woman, no matter how seducing they were he just couldn't find himself falling in love with any.

Yet, he wondered what made Jenna different from the rest. He seemed to like having her around. Was it out of pity? Was what he felt for her just pity? Because she was an orphan and had no one? .

He stared at the wall completely lost in thought. He didn't even realize that an hour had passed. Certainly Arnold could stay an hour or two looking at a direction lost in thought.  Most often people around him wondered if actually he was human.

Jenna slowly opened her eyes and the first thing she saw was Arnold who  sat beside her . She was about sitting up right when Arnold turned to her.

"Hey, hey, easy there". He went to her and held her shoulders. He then turned to his left and poured out water in a glass.

"Here, water".  He held the glass to her mouth, at first she was hesitant but then she placed her hand in his and sipped looking at his eyes through the glass.

"Why was he being caring all of a sudden?" She thought. She moved her lips away from the glass and forced a smile.

Arnold held the glass to her mouth. "Want more?" He asked.

"No, I'm okay" . She really felt strange getting the treatment she received from him. He was never like that.

Suddenly the name Jenna echoed in her mind. She remove red she tried opening her eyes when she blacked out, but she couldn't.

"He knows my name?" That was the first time she heard hun say her name.

"Mister Arnold? She called then he immediately looked at her.

"You don't think I'm crazy, do you?" She asked looking worried.

He hesitated but then said. "I don't know ".

"You don't believe me?" She asked. But Arnold said no word.

"I really did see that lady, it was real this time. I don't know why she keeps appearing to me."

Arnold just averted his gaze, he looked down to the floor.

"She might just want me staying away from this house. She might be your wife or probably your ex girlfriend. She might be jealous thinking that I'd try to take you away but I've got no bad intentions at all."

Arnold saw truth in her eyes. He stared at her for a moment as she looked away playing with her fingers.

"(Chuckles) I've got no wife." He peered at her as their eyes met.

"I've got no girlfriend. I've got no woman in my life and I've never dated." Jenna who stared down at her hands slowly brought her face up to look at him while his eyes were already on her.

She didn't know what to say, she just looked stunned. Her eyes went through his gorgeous face and his hot body.

" How was it possible for such a man to be single?" She was taken aback.

"Hh..how is that even possible?" She eyes were now locked in his.

At this point, she really wanted to know more about him. She wanted to be kind to him, after all he was a nice man but why was he trying to hide it??

"I DONT LOVE". He said straightly then he looked away.

Jenna turned mute. Her brows were knotted together as she stared at him in shock.

" But you're a nice man, ain't you?" She struggled making eye contacts.

"I'm not." He turned to her again.

Jenna tried convincing herself that he was lying  but his eyes said the opposite. He really looked serious, he definitely wasn't joking.

"If you weren't nice you wouldn't have helped me that ugly evening. Only nice people do nice things. You're a nice man". She said bashfully

"I'm not half close to being nice. Once you get to know me you'd stay away from me. You wouldn't want to ever look at me or even live in my Mansion."

Those words shook her, "what was he?". She asked herself. But no, she wouldn't want to make him feel she was already afraid of him. She knew he was lonely and she just wanted to make him feel less lonely.

"I wouldn't, you're a nice man, I like the person you are". Saying those words she looked into both his eyes to see if he'd show any emotions, but no, he only showed nothing just a cold, sad and confused look .

"Don't ever like me, don't try to. I'd only end up hurting you. I don't love, I never had and never will. It's my destiny."

He halted then he looked at her . She looked confused and sad. She lowered her gaze as she was lost in thoughts.

"Scared already?"he grinned.

"No. I'm not scared of you, I don't think I ever will." She said uncertain.

Arnold was taken aback. "How sure was she??"

Now Jenna's mission was to make him believe he had some good in him. Right now, what he was is total darkness . She wanted him to know that he could love and care for a person.

"Pfft..fine then." He got up from the bed and walked to the door when she spoke.

"Please stay" she looked at his hot body as his back faced her.

"I..don't want to be all alone tonight, I'm really scared." She prayed that he agreed to stay.

Arnold slowly turned to face her. Then he nodded and walked to the sofa and laid down with his head resting on his arm and with the other above his head as he looked up to the ceiling.

Jenna felt bad. He was doing her a favor, she shouldn't make him feel uncomfortable. Seeing him lying there on the couch she just knew he wasn't comfortable.

"Can you please come to the bed?" She kept a worried look.

"Sure you'd be comfortable?" He asked as he turned to her.

"Yes, just please come over here, you ain't comfortable lying there on the couch and you might have body pains."

"Well I'm not complaining." He replied with a grin.

"Please." She said. Then he stood up and walked to the other side of the bed and laid, while she slept on the other side backing each other.

Jenna rested her face on her palm, she was unable to sleep. She was too scared to close her eyes. She didn't want to see that woman in her dreams again.

Arnold could hear her humming softly.

"Are you unable to sleep?" He asked not turning to her.

"Yes, I can't sleep." She blinked.

"Scared?" He asked and immediately Jenna knew he grinned. Even if she didn't see him, she still knew each time he did that.

"Not of you, but if the woman. I'm scared I might see her again".

"You wouldn't see her anymore because I'm here with you and she's scared of me." Just then he turned to face her back, she wore a transparent white lingerie gown, he could only see her back. The rest of her body was covered with the bug white blanket.

"You don't even know her". She turned to face him but she didn't know his eyes were already on her.

Immediately she caught his eyes, she turned back. "Gosh!! Why did I turn to look? She cursed inwardly.

Arnold could only grin at her behavior.

"Just go to sleep now". He turned back. Now turning his back to face hers.
