System Experimentation

While walking through the busy city, hearing the chatter of the folk native to the mysterious world of magic, he found himself inquisitive.

"Didja see that dragon I took out yesterday? It came at me and I cut its head off with a single swipe of my sword!" A boastful adventurer that resembled a man crossed with a tiger claimed to his companions while walking, making a motion with his hands as if swinging an invisible sword.

The man walking beside the half-human warrior laughed, wearing teal robes with an imposing, quartz staff in his hand, "A dragon? That was only a cave lizard. I recall it chasing you around with its flaming breath, too."

"Hey! That's a lie!" The proud tiger-man huffed as his companions laughed.

For what was on Blake's curious mind, the adventurer with a proud mouth was the perfect target.

He intercepted the path of the humanoid with orange, black-striped fur, looking directly at him.

"Huh? Move it, shrimp," the beastman ordered with an annoyed exhale, reaching his hand out to push the young man aside.

As his shoulder was slapped, Blake spoke intently to the large, musclebound figure, "Jump up and start singing."

"What?--Ugh, my head feels fuzzy," the tiger-like adventurer groaned and mumbled, continuing on his path as he caressed his head while his perplexed companions followed.

The result was somewhat surprising to Blake, though it wasn't as though he didn't expect this kind of outcome. He sat himself down on the bench beside a fountain, watching the crowds pass by as he gathered his thoughts.

'It failed, but it still had some kind of effect on him. That leaves me with a few theories on the limitations of this "Hypnosis System" of mine,' he pondered.

The first theory: the success of hypnosis is drastically lowered depending on the strength of the target. It was the reason he singled out the strong-looking beastman. This result tied into the next idea he came to.

The second was that the existence of his system and its apparent ability to "level up" means that its upper limitations had not been reached, meaning he likely would have weaknesses as he is now.

Another theory he gathered was that the effect can be resisted by non-human species, to some degree, at least depending on the level of his system.

Finally, the last obstacle he thought of was the complexity and difficulty of the hypnosis given.

'The easier the command, the higher chance of success it might have…Sounds plausible to me. I'll need to do more testing–considering I need a place to stay, I think I can knock out two birds with one stone here,' he thought.

Fortunately, the language of the world, or at least the place he found himself in, was understandable to him as he looked at the signs hanging from the menagerie of small buildings.

Finally, the sign he sought brought itself before his eyes: "Verdant Leaf Inn"—a wood-built structure with pots of flowers sitting on the windows. Judging by the fact it has a half dozen floors and carriages parked in its very own lobby with influential merchants and lords coming and going, it was a lavish hospice.

Through the entrance, he was greeted by a youthful woman with curly, black hair and freckles.

"Welcome to Verdant Lead, are you interested in a room for the night? It is three crowns for a standard room, five crowns for the noble suite, and twenty crowns for the King's Stay," the worker of the inn greeted.

Blake looked around for a moment at the illustrious pots of colorful flowers along with the scenic paintings hung on the walls. It struck him as odd that the seemingly remote town was so crowded and home to such exuberant businesses.

'It's likely a traveler spot of sorts…I'd guess there's some important locations in this region,' he thought.

A response came from him at last as he looked at the patient, youthful runner of the inn, "I'll take the King's Stay."

The cheerful worker clapped her hands together, "Right this way then, sir!"

It was a surprisingly vast, lavish interior to the inn, with wooden walls decorated with scenic paintings, and tables displaying pots of colorful flowers.

The effectiveness of this newfound power he wielded surprised him as he stood in the exclusive room.

"Is it to your liking, sir?" The kind attendant to the inn asked.

There was another test that came to Blake's mind as he turned to face the curly-haired, young woman.

'…If this fails, my new life is totally over! But, well, here goes,' he decided.

Clearing his throat, he pointed his index finger at the perplexed girl, directly at her most prized asset: her large, bouncy chest.

"Show me your tits—!" Blake commanded, focusing his entire mind on the activation of his system.

Utter silence filled the room following his words as his own blood ran all too warm. In his mind, he felt his entire world shattering at the look of confusion in the woman's eyes.

'My new life is over—' he thought.

[New Skill(s) Obtained: Faraway Whisper]

As the voice of the system met his ears, so did the delightful sight he had ushered in with his suggestion:

"As you wish, sir," the inn worker said with a charming smile.

The lithe, yet blessed body of the freckled woman was revealed as she pulled down the window of her uniform.

A set of pale, round breasts bounced out of her shirt. By his estimate as a connoisseur of such things, she was unmistakably a "D cup."

'Damn, it really worked! Hold on, this power is seriously, really something,' he thought.

As he looked at the bare breasts on display to him, he couldn't help but move his hands towards them, lingering towards a simple touch—

"Is there anything else I can help you with, sir?" The woman asked, as if she wasn't displaying her chest.

Blake pulled his hand away, shaking his head, "No…I'm all set."

Without a word, the worker simply fixed her uniform and left the room with a smile, as though what she did was nothing out of the ordinary.

He sat down on the kingly bed, letting out a breath as he took in what he knew of his abilities.

'…Well, that worked. I need to think…In a fantasy world like this, the fastest route to riches and fame without being born into the right family. The answer is: being a hero—assuming there's evil out there,' Blake considered.

Of course, with a mystical power like his, it was out of the question to make an honest living as a simple laborer.

No, with a second chance at life, what he sought was the tippity-top.

There was another thing that stayed on his mind: the new skill he had acquired from leveling up.

"Faraway Whisper," Blake repeated the name of the ability.

Before conducting any further testing, he checked the drawers in the room, which were fortunately stocked with clothes. Some weren't quite the right size, though he stumbled upon an olive tunic and oak trousers.

'This is better,' he thought.
