Ch7 Talk X About X Dreams

They are already inside the Airship. After clearing the exam's second phase, Akira and his friends fly through the starry sky, toward the site for the third phase exam.

In front of the applicants, Chairman Netero and his secretary Mr.Beans gathered everyone because they planned to explain something about the third exam site.

" First let me allow you to introduce myself to the fifty remaining applicants. I'm Netero, Chairman of this year's Hunter Exam Selection Committee." Netero introduced himself.

" I am his secretary, Beans." A green mysterious creature said.

' Does that guy come from the dark continent? Damn! I wanted to know!.' Akira bites his nails holding himself from asking them. He couldn't help it after seeing such a mysterious character like Beans.

" Originally, I'd planned to make my appearance during the exam's final phase, but as I'm already here..." Netero paused for a second looking at the remaining 50 applicants before continuing " I'm loving this tension in the air! So I'm thinking, I'll stick around for the rest of the trip."

" We are scheduled to arrive at the third phase of the exam tomorrow morning, at 8 am. You'll find dinner waiting in the dining hall. You are all also welcome to get some rest. In other words, you're free to do as you please until you are contracted." Beans said as he looked at the clock on the wall.

Killua looks at Gon and Akira. " Gon, Akira! Let's explore the airship!."

" Okay," Gon said as he looked at Killua before looking at Akira.

" Pass, I like to rest for a bit maybe with these two," Akira said as he pointed to Leorio and Kurapika with his thumb.

" Alright, Let's go Killua!." Then Gon and Killua run out of the room.

Leorio and Kurapika who look like the energetic two couldn't help but shake their head with a smile.

" How can they have so much energy? When I'm too tired to even eat." Leorio said with a bitter sigh.

" Well, I would also like to rest now, however, I do have one concern," Kurapika said.

Then the three walk to the door.

" Hmm? What's the concern?" Leorio said as he looked at Kurapika with confusion.

" How many more phases are there?." Kurapika asked.

Before Akira could even answer, A short fat man answered Kurapika's question. " On Average, there are five to six phases."

The short fat man named is Tonpa, A Veteran in the Hunter Exam having attempted 35 times now.

Akira look to Tonpa with indifferent thought. ' Aren't this guy Tonpa, The rookie crusher? I didn't even notice him since earlier, I'm too focused on myself and thinking about this world.'

" Which means we still have three or four to go... " Leorio mumbles looking at Tonpa.

" All the more reason to rest now," Kurapika said as he turned around and walked to the door.

" But..." Tonpa wanted to say something but stopped himself seeing Akira looking at him.

" But?." Leorio asked as he looked at Tonpa.

" Ah, It's nothing, just don't forget to fill your stomach Hahaha," Tonpa said with a fake laugh as he turned around walking away from the three. ' Tch! Why's that Pokkle with them, Don't tell me he is after me?.'

Leorio looks at the walking away Tonpa before looking to Akira. " Let's go Akira, we're gonna find some room to sleep."

Akira turned his head to look at Leorio before following him.

Kurapika looks at Akira before saying. " That guy is Tonpa, We met him in the first phase."

Akira look at Kurapika with a tilted head. ' I didn't even ask it.'

" Sorry. It looks like you wanted to ask who that guy is." Kurapika seeing Akira look confused said with a small laugh.

" Forget about that guy, let's find the room first. I'm sleepy now." Leorio said as he walked into an open door checking if it was an empty room.

Seeing that there's nobody in the room. The three entered the room walking into the corner to sit down.

" I know you guys are tired but can we talk for a minute?." Akira asked looking at the two.

" About what?, Can we just talk after resting?." Leorio asked as he already closed his eyes.

" Well, if it's just a few minutes, I don't mind," Kurapika said interested in what Akira wanted to talk about.

Akira looks at the two before sighing. " If I were you, I would be careful with that Guy. If I'm not wrong that guy is Tonpa, The rookie crusher. It is said that he only applied to the Hunter Exam to sabotage every rookie wanting to become a hunter."

Leorio and Kurapika widened their eyes seemingly thinking about the soda drink that Tonpa gave to them in the first phase. After being with Akira for hours now, they didn't even doubt his words since Tonpa looked suspicious.

" That can of soda, it might be drugged," Kurapika said as he became more wary of Tonpa.

" That bastard, I would beat him up after I take a rest, Thankfully Gon said it was expired," Leorio said as clenched his fist forward while thanking Gon in his heart.

" Well, As long as you know what he's up to he wasn't that a problem. The other thing I wanted to talk about is... to know your dreams?." Akira said intensely looking at the two and filling the room with seriousness.

Because of Akira's serious look, The two didn't think that it was out of him to ask them. Although they only spend a few hours today they know that he can be trusted.

" Dream, huh." Leorio pondered for a second before saying. " Just as I said to Kurapika before, My goal is to make a lot of money to become a Doctor. Although being a doctor wasn't my dream it was to help people who didn't have any money to pay for medical needs. I wanted to become a Doctor to cure even people without money." Leorio said full of sincerity.

The two look at Leorio with a smile.

" Despite being a roughly-looking guy, aren't you too soft-hearted," Akira said sarcastically before chuckling.

" You're right." Kurapika couldn't help but giggle at Leorio's face.

Leorio looks embarrassed and his face becomes a little bit red. He caught before looking at the two laughing at him with a small smile on their face. " Shut up. It was your turn now Kurapika."

Kurapika stopped laughing and then looked at the two. " I still haven't told you it yet but I was the last survivor of Kurta Clan. The clan that was massacred five years ago by Phantom Troupe." Kurapika said as he clenched his fist and his eyes started to turn red.

Kurapika looks at the two before calming down. " My goal is to take revenge for my clan and take back their eyes. But dreams, except for those two I can't think of anything else."

Akira's face hardened for a second pondering if he should say it or not. But thinking that he could help his friend he resolved himself but shook his head. ' Right now rather than help it was more poison that could even kill him and even if I tell him right now I wasn't sure if Pairo is still alive, I'll tell him it after he learns Nen.'

" I hope you take back all the eyes they take from your clan," Akira said. 'Although it won't be easy, I'll provide you a help if you ask for it.'

Akira knows that Kurapika is stubborn and won't let his friends get in trouble because of his revenge.

" Thank you," Kurapika said as he looked at Akira with a smile.

*Snores*

The two look to Leorio who is in deep sleep and look at each other before laughing but low enough to not startle Leorio and wake him up.

" It is my turn right, although Leorio is already asleep now, I'll tell you mine but it wasn't grand like Leorio. My dream is much simpler it is to become someone I can be proud of and someone who wouldn't regret." Akira said with a bright smile implying his contentment in those words.

This chapter is for a scene where they become closer except for the times they need each other. I plan to cut the scene where they would spend 50 hours in the third phase after Leorio loses to the gambler prisoner.
