5 A New Face

Before the beginning of the chapter just wanted to give an update. Looked at the suggestions and fixed Loki's nen ability. I just confused myself and was like, wait for a second, this isn't right. Anyways all I did was change a little bit of the last chapter, such as the explanation of his hatsu, and edited the fight a bit. This shouldn't be a problem, and it's best to fix it now.

If you want to give a suggestion for a vow, he can take however you can leave it here.

Anyways, here's the improved hatsu for those who don't want to scroll back.

------------------------

Hatsu Name: Black Light

Nen Type: Specialist

Description: Around the user a domain of black light will unfold with a range depending on the amount nen supplied. Within the domain of black light the user will be have the ability to manipulate this black light to the users whim. By manipulating this special black light it is possible to create constructs according to the user's thoughts which will appear to have the same amount nen as the user, but will not in actuality.

Conditions:

1. The max range of the domain of black light is equal to the max range of the users En

2. Manipulating black light will consume nen based off of the scale of the construct.

------------------------

These changes are small but fix a lot.

Anyways these changes will allow it to be smoother in the future without any confusion. Anyways enjoy.

*SFX* BOOOOOM!

Loki shot out backward into a heap of trash with the loud noise.

The old Elder saw this and was joyful.

"Hehe… that's what you get, you little brat…" the Elder coughed to himself. The Elder looked over to see Loki bloody and not moving.

Seeing this, the old man thought he was probably dead or would be soon and decided to head back home.

After leaving and walking for a bit, however, he realized he had forgotten the kid's mask.

"Dammit! That little brat is bothering me even when I'm dead..! It's too far to go back for a mask with these injuries…" the Elder mumbled while looking at himself.

***************************************

A little after the explosion, a figure came from the distance.

The person was wearing a small type of protective clothing and looked petite.

"A human?" they said to themselves.

At a glance, this figure had spotted a boy who had fallen into the trash mountain. The rags he was wearing were bloody, but if one was to look closely, he wasn't too injured. Although the boy looked dead, the cuts were not deep.

The boy had white hair and was wearing a broken mask with a weird smile.

She tilted her head and went to go see if he had anything of use on him.

While searching, she looked down at his immature and handsome face and paused for a few seconds.

Originally her purpose was only for the supplies that might be on him, but she quickly made a new decision.

************

"Ughh.. my head hurts…." Loki thought slowly, opening his eyes. Thinking for a second, his eyes suddenly became sharp as he looked around quickly.

He quickly breathed a sigh of relief as he clutched his head. He slowly sat up, combing through his recent memories while looking at the surrounding environment.

At this moment, he was in a very tattered wooden bed. Although the environment seemed like a house, there were only four walls and hardly a functional door.

Inside was only a dilapidated oil lamp, a hammock, an old table, and a chair.

The only redeeming quality was that the whole little house was reasonably tidy, so the house did not look horrible.

This shows that the owner is still attentive to the house.

Loki paid attention to this while trying to find any detail he could that could tell him more.

Looking down at himself, he saw that his clothes had been changed. Touching his face, however, made him realize he was still wearing the mask he found, which comforted him a bit.

Thinking of the fight that happened made him extremely frustrated.

The fight made him feel many mistakes he made in the fight. One example was that he charged in the beginning.

Knowing he was a new user, he should have brought his hatsu before starting a slower fight.

He was too close to him when he still did not know the old man's ability. This unthinking form of fighting… was not how he fought… In this fight he was simply throwing as many illusions out as he could.

When he was hitman he could play people with little less than a dozen static holograms. With the ability to manipulate black light and make illusions as real as breathing humans the smartest idea he could come up with was to have them all rush at him?!

Thinking of this, he was somewhat disgusted with himself. It seems he became a bit too arrogant with his abilities, thinking he would be fine.

"I must not become arrogant again... Always stay calm and calculate..." Loki thought to himself.

Suddenly there was a tiny squeak.

The old wooden door of this tiny house made a harsh creak as it was opened.

Loki turned his head to see a girl with pink hair and golden eyes walk through the door.

"You're awake?" she asked flatly, without any expression on her face.

Loki quickly analyzed her while thinking.

"Um!"

Loki responded calmly without giving many expressions.

He looked up and down at the girl, and it seemed she had rescued him.

The girl in front of him was petite, only about eleven or twelve years old, and had beautiful short pink and purple hair.

The color of her eyes was a rare golden color. They were a much warmer shade of yellow compared to his catlike yellow.

She wore some small protective clothing with black pants.

"Why does she look so familiar..?" Loki thought to himself.

As he looked at her, the familiarity in his heart became more and more prominent. Gradually, there was a figure in his that slowly overlapped with her.

Thinking of his location, his guess became more and more sure.

"Did you bring me here?" Loki said slowly.

"Mhm... I found you with bloody rags on top of a trash pile," she said.

Loki's eyes gleamed with a calculative light.

"And your name is…?" Loki asked.

As he looked at the girl in front of him, he was getting more and more sure of his guess as he looked at her.

"Machi." the girl with pink and purple hair replied calmly. "And you?"

"Loki.." Loki replied with a strange look in his eyes.

"It turns out it was really her.." he thought to himself.

I didn't expect that, after all this time, I would finally meet one of the characters of the Hunter X Hunter world.

This is Machi, one of the future members of the Phantom Troupe. This is a world-famous theft gang that has in many murderous crimes all over the world and is far from being harmless.

"Why did you… save me back then..?" he asked curiously

Machi's expression remained unchanged, and she said, "One is supplies, and the other is intuition."

Hearing this, Loki also understood a bit.

"Intuition, huh..?" He spoke in a low voice.

The manga and anime show that Machi's sixth sense is very strong and accurate.

Typically whenever her instincts told her something, there was nothing wrong with it.

This was practically a hatsu-like ability.

"Anything else?" Machi asked as she looked at Loki, who was still thinking.

"If not, I will go to bed first."

Hearing this, Loki was slightly stunned before seeing that it was dark out. He decided to take a break while thinking.

"Looking at Machi's current appearance, she should only be about eleven or twelve years old. I remember that when the Phantom Troupe was gathered in York New City in the original, she was twenty-four years old." he thought.

"Following this line of thought, it should be about twelve or thirteen years before the plot started. I don't know if the Phantom Troupe is established yet, but looking at her by herself, I don't think they should have... Right?" Loki thought as his eyelids slowly closed.

After thinking a bit, he decided to sleep a bit.

As for Machi and the future Phantom Troupe, leave it for tomorrow.
