43 Morning Gossip

I left the house furious at Lex.

When I made my way to breakfast I was dreading the barrage of questions I would get not only from my Grandfather but also from our other relatives who called the manor home. But to my surprise no one said anything. 

We had breakfast as if I hadn't spent the night with my fiancée or that I wasn't on the front page of every newspaper in the country. 

Lex didn't even bother to show for breakfast, adding to my peaceful morning before I finally headed to the office. 

By the time I got to the office, the place was a hive of activity.

People were chatting and walking all over the place and to no surprise the hot topic of the day was my relationship with Alexander.

As I walked to my desk, I couldn't help but glance at the empty one not far off from mine,

A janitor was sorting the things on Anna's desk, putting in one box her personal items and in another those that belonged to the company.
