20 WHY DO YOU HAVE TO TAKE A SHOWER FIRST?

Jason is done arranging his things, he came out of the the closet room to find Olivia's with a sheet of paper and a pen.

"Take this." she said, stretching out the piece of paper to him.

"And what's this?" He asked, collecting the paper.

"The conditions and rules you will have to follow during the period of time our fake marriage alliance will last for." She answered.

"#1. You are not allowed to back down on our original plan of being a fake couple until the contract expires." He read the first condition stated on the paper to himself.

"When does the contract expire?" He asked, his eyes still fixed on the paper.

"In the next three months, which means we are going to be married for four months." She replied.

"What happens if I don't want this alliance between you and me anymore, and I decide to back down?" He asked, looking at her with a bored look on his face.

"You will return every cent of the money I gave to you, and I'm sure you don't want that happening." She added, sounding very serious about it.

"#2. Neither of us are allowed to question each other's actions. For example, where are you coming? Why did you return home so late?" Jason read the second condition out loud.

"Yes, we will mind each other's businesses and not interfere in our separate lives." She said, crossing her hands against her stomach.

"Sounds okay to me, I was planning on telling you the same thing when I finished sorting out my things." He commented before reading further.

#3. We agree to act like a real couple in the presence of my parents and other people, if necessary.

#4. Public display of affection is allowed when necessary.

#6. You are allowed only to sleep on the left side of the bed while I sleep on the right side.

#8. I get to take a shower first, you can take yours after.

#12. You are not allowed to touch anything in that corner of the room, most especially my paintings.

Jason read though all twelve conditions and he was fine with except #8, what if he wanted to take a shower first?

"I don't get why you have to take a shower first." He said to her.

"It's my room and I make the rules here." She said, pointing a finger at herself.

"If I feel it's necessary to add it to the conditions, so be it." She continued.

"Okay." He replied shortly.

"Great, sign here." She pointed her index finger at the lower part of the piece of paper.

"You want me to sign?" His ached his left brow at her before speaking.

"Yes, we will make use of this dummy contract for now, just to be safe." She said before handing over the pen to him.

"Sure, is that all?" He asked, penning down his signature on the paper.

"Yes and I'll sign also." She took the sheet of paper from him and then signed below.

"Okay, since that's settled, I can leave now." She went ahead to keep the sheet and made her way to the bedroom door.

"Ahmm…. Feel free to ask the helpers if you need something while I'm away, byeeee…" She said, tingling her fingers in the air.

"Mmm…." He made a short sound with his mouth as he fixed his hands into his pockets.

Olivia stepped out of the door, twirling her bike keys on her index finger while walking towards the stairs.

"And where do you think you're going, Young lady?" Evelyn suddenly appeared behind Olivia, walking towards her with her hands placed on her waist.

"Mom, what do you mean? I'm going out of course." Olivia answered and Evelyn simply shakes her head, giving Olivia a familiar look.

"What now, Mom? Why are you giving me that look?" Olivia complained after a long, last sigh escaped her lips.

"Did you forget that you are no longer a single lady but a married woman now? Evelyn asked as she took a few more steps towards Olivia.

"No, I didn't forget that. Wait, what does it have to do with me going out?" Olivia asked, seeming a bit confused as to why Evelyn even asked that.

"How can you leave him alone when he just moved into the house not too long ago, don't you think you're supposed to stay with him and keep him company since he is new here?" Evelyn didn't support the idea of Olivia leaving when Jason was still new to the house.

"Mom, he is not alone and also, i will be back very soon. I just have to get something done and I promise to be back as soon as possible." She explained to Evelyn.

"Even if your father does not support this marriage, you can't change the fact that you are legally married and now, you have to take responsibility for your own actions." Evelyn stated.

"As a wife, your number one responsibility is to take care of your husband and inorder to take care of him, you have to be there when he needs you." She continued, causing a slight frown to form on Olivia's face.

This is exactly what she had tried to avoid all her life, being deprived of the things she loves doing because she is simply married.

"Mom, I get it . . . Okay. I will try my best to return home as soon as I'm done with what I want to do." She said, giving Evelyn a light hug and rushing back to the stairs to avoid prolonging the conversation.

After a while of being inside Olivia's so-called room, Jason got bored and decided to take a walk around the mansion to get familiar with the new environment. Walking through the pathway, something caught his attention and it caused a tiny spark to burst out in his dark eyes. It was a chess board. Chess has always been Jason's favorite board game, he always found pleasure in playing chess and it allowed his calculative mind to be put into more practice.

He walked slowly to the table which had the chess board on it with and when he finally got close enough, he picked up the black king and took a close look at it.

"You know, If you keep staring at it like that, I will most possibly think you have plans of abducting them all." Evelyn said, walking towards him with a wide smile on her face.

"My apologies, I didn't mean to get too close." Jason placed the king in its usual position and turned to look at Evelyn.

"No, it's fine. I don't have a problem with it, at least we have something in common now." She said, still smiling.

"Why don't we have a match?" Evelyn asked as she sat down across the table.

"A match?" Jason replied with a questioning look on his face.

"Yes, or are you scared this old lady will beat you?" Evelyn teased.

"I accept your offer, it will be an honor playing with you." Jason accepted the offer and sat on the chair opposite Evelyn's.

"Amira, bring my timer. We are about to have a mother and son-in-law match." She said a little louder, ordering a worker to get the chess timer.
