1 Introduction to trolls

In the world of Angesland there are many mythical creatures some elligant, some powerful and some that are still a mystery. There is one creature that is overlooked though, mainly well hidden for the most part only seen by the few adventurers who need to go into cave systems. Trolls were the name given to them when first discovered, and most of the time it is only the four foot drones that are seen. Most adventurers and soldiers take this for what trolls are, but this only scratches the surface. Every troll system is ran by a Queen who produces the drones. With no sex or thoughts of there own the drones are used for workers and foraging. The generals are male and usually there are a dozen to a nest. Most usually being 7 to 8 foot it is not really known how they come to be. Not many adventures have crossed there paths and lived to tell the tale. Most books theorise that the males come from the Queen, but this is not entirely factual. The mystery comes mainly from most folk not caring about trolls. Seen as a lesser creature, and because there not usually come across alot, the facts about them are few and far between. What is known that they live in deep cave systems, usually by magical properties. This is also not known why as no human, dwarf or elf had ever come across a nest and documented the tale. There was always rumours, whispers in pubs, but nothing concrete. All that was known was if you ever saw one there would be more, and the common knowledge was to kill and move on. Adventures had higher creatures to hunt, bigger adventures to have and soldiers had wars to fight. Trolls only ever took from villages near there nest, that would be anything they could kill or carry back, so trolls never got high on the list of creatures that needed dealing with, but like most things..... if left unchecked for too long even the most insignificant of things can become a big problem.
