Chapter 11, Part 2: What Comes in the Morning

Archibald was ready to be scolded by Selene in the morning. He actually felt how disrespectful he had been the night before. He forced his own will upon her, neglecting her own consent on the matter.

When she went for a bath, he really wanted to go with her, just to be sure she would be alright. He had to fight the urge to argue when she rejected his idea. It was hard but he managed to keep himself from forcing her again. But he can’t shrug off the uneasiness of the situation. The river was not too far, and he can still hear quite well from where he was, but what if something or someone attacked her silently? He was not sure whether he can get there in time if such a thing happened.

He shrugged his worries off. He should focus on their breakfast and let Selene at least have a moment of peace alone. She deserved a break after all the things that happened to her life in the past days.
