Chapter 6
"Were you and Ben born werewolves?" I ask
"Yeah, but hunters got to most of our family." He sighed
"That sucks." I say
"Yeah, anyway... Becky's probably going to want to meet you and she normally meets her betas on the full moon and they run together as a pack, but your not gonna do that until you have full control." He says
"Why the sudden protectiveness over me?" I ask Theo
"I gotta protect my girlfriend don't I?" He smiled
"Is that your way of asking me to be your girlfriend?" I ask
"Cut me some slack I haven't done this before." He said
"So I'm your first girlfriend?" I ask
"Yeah." He says, "And first kiss."
"You were my first kiss too." I say
"I find that hard to believe." He says
"Why?" I ask
"You're so pretty." He smiled
My eyes flashed gold I could tell by the reflection in Theo's eyes.
"Thank you." I blush
My phone starts to ring. I check it and it's Lola.
"Sorry Theo it's Lola." I say
I answer her call,
"Hey what's up?" I ask
"Umm... We need to talk." Lola says
"Okay where are you?" I ask
"The woods, I'm lost." She says
"I'll be right there." I say
I hang up.
"Lola's lost in the woods." I say
"I know I kinda eves dropped." Theo said
"Me too." Said Ben as he opened the door to the basement
"I have a shirt of hers in my backpack I forgot to give I back, I need your help to find her." I say
I hand Theo the shirt and he smells it.
"I got it." He says
I follow him out the door. We walk out of the house and to the woods and we get further into it. He inhales sharply.
He turns left and heads that way. He continued straight until we found a hole which he fell in, so I helped him up. Ben started laughing. Theo punched Ben and Ben flew a few feet and hit a tree, then Theo continued sniffing out her path.
"LOLA?!?" I called out to her
No answer.
Theo, Ben, and I kept walking deeper and deeper into the woods.
"LOLA?!?" I called out again
"Adena?!!" She called back
Theo, Ben, and I ran to find Lola. Her foot was in a bear trap and her arm was bleeding, it looked like a bite.
"Where you bitten?" I ask
"What makes you think that?" She asks in a snarky voice
"Sorry." I say
"Please help me out so I don't lose a leg." She said
Theo got her foot out. Ben tore the trap in half.
"Thank you." Lola said to Theo
"How did this even happen?" Ben asked
"My dad was on a case and I would have called you to accompany me but you had some werewolf business to attend to so I went on my own, I had a run in with the same wolf we saw that night and bit you... So I started running next thing I knew I heard I click sound I looked down at my leg and saw it. I cried for a while but I quickly realized that was going to get me nowhere, so I called you and once I hung up I saw the wolf right beside me... The wolf bit me and ran away just like you said the wolf did to you." Lola says
"What the hell is Becky doing?" Theo questions
"I have no idea but I have a feeling it's not good." I say, "Not to judge your Aunt but I'm just saying I get these hunches and then I'm right and then I hate myself for being right... I'll shut up now."
"So, no 'Lola are you okay?' Or 'oh my gosh Lola how are you feeling right now?' Because I could have a rant fit right now!" Lola says
"Now I have two betas to look after..." Theo sighs
"Really?" Asks Lola
"Yeah." I say
"Your dating this guy?" Lola questions
"Yeah." I smiled
Then Theo kissed me.
"Okay, break it up!" Ben says, "No PDA!"
"So how long does this take to heal?" Lola asks
"I don't know, I was unconscious." I said
"Should only take a couple of hours." Theo responds
He walks through the woods.
"Where are we going?" Lola asked
"To get you a protection ring." Theo says
"What's that?" Lola asks
"It protects you from hunters like Mandy." I say
Lola follows Theo and Ben to Casey's house. I walked next to Lola. We get to her house and I knock on the door. She gives Theo a discussed look.
"Casey Lola needs a ring." I say
"She's not a werewolf yet..." Casey said
"We're planning ahead." Theo says
"Yeah also plan a funeral too." Casey bluntly said
"What?" Lola asked
"Sometimes humans don't survive the bite or they don't necessarily turn into werewolves." Casey said
"So I could die... Is what your saying?" Says Lola
"Yeah pretty much." Casey says folding her arms
"Thanks, how sweet of you." Lola sarcastically says
"But Lola's not gonna die." Theo says
"Why not?" Asks Casey
"My Aunt bit her and she always picks the people who survive the bite." Theo said
"So I have hope... Cool I'm not gonna die." Lola says happyly
"What if she's not a werewolf and she turns into a supernatural being that could kill us?" I ask
"That is very unlikely, Casey you should keep your mouth shut more often." Theo says
Casey gives Theo a glare.
"Note to self talk a lot around Theo." Casey said
"Are you gonna make the ring or not?" Asks Ben
"Yeah, come in." Casey says
We walk in and we see a normal house with normal house things like tv and a couch. I wouldn't expect that you know since she's a witch. Then she clapped her hands together. Then her whole living room transformed. Then the house of a witch that I expected appeared, a brewing pot, a shelve of positions and books, and then a black cat that came running down the stairs.
Casey started the spell to enchant the ring. She finished and handed the ring to Lola. Lola put the ring on.
"Thank you Casey." I say
"Yeah... Yeah... I know... I'm awesome." Casey said, "Now leave... Especially him."
She pointed to Theo. The four of us walked out.
"What do we do now?" Lola asks
"I think you two better get home it's getting pretty late." Theo says
"Walk me home?" I ask
"Sure babe." He says
Lola rolls her eyes. I guess she'll have to get used to third wheeling.
