New Life X In A Familiar World

Looking outside my bedroom window I thought about various things.

But mostly I am thinking about the fact that's been five years since my reincarnation and rebirth.

And as for the world I am currently living my second life in, it is one I am highly familiar with and am grateful to having been reborn in.

Hunter x Hunter.

That's right.

The world of Hunter x Hunter is my new home.

A world filled with strange beasts, hidden treasures, and unexplored lands.

Of all the world's I could've been given a second chance in this one is the best in my own personal book.

Since now I know exactly what I want to do in the future.

Take the hunter exam, become a pro hunter, and have tons of globe-trotting and history-making adventures.

Just thinking about doing those things is bringing a smile to my face.

As I held my smile I suddenly heard a knock on my bedroom door.

Moving away from the window I went to answer it.

When I did so I saw a woman. She has long dark-green hair and beautiful teal-colored eyes. As well as a supermodel's body despite having a kid.

Which is me by the way.

Since the woman currently standing outside my bedroom is my mother.

Her name is Anastasia Raine.

By the way my new name is Soren Raine.

And just like my mom I have teal-colored eyes, but unlike her my hair is a deep shade of red. Which I inherited from my father. I also have a cute face which I just know will turn into a handsome one in the future.

A major plus in my book since it means I will be able to get girls easily. I can't wait for that just as much as I can't wait for my future adventures.

The moment I opened the door and saw my mom I looked up at her. "Hey mom, what's up?" I asked her.

"It's lunch time." She told me.

"Alright let's go." I happily said.

I then stepped out of my room, closing my bedroom door behind me.

Once I did I my mom and I headed downstairs for lunch.

Arriving I saw my father already sitting at the table waiting for us.

Just like me he has fiery-red hair, but his eyes are a deep crimson. He is also a pretty handsome guy.

His name is Sieghart Raine.

The moment my mom and I sat down my father looked up from the book he was reading. From the cover I can see it is about history.

A normal thing for him.

Since ever can I remember my father has always been an avid reader, and not just about history either. My father reads all kinds of books about all different kinds of subjects from history, to law, to biology, and so forth. He's an incredibly smart guy who knows a bit of just about everything there is.

He's always spitting out random facts here and there.

Closing his book up after sticking a bookmark inside my father set his reading martial aside as my mother went to bring us our plates. Meanwhile I took my seat.

"Hey dad." I said to him.

"What's up son?" He asked me.

"Nothing much." I answered back.

Just after I did so my mother placed our plates in front of us.

Looking at the food in front of me I saw it was some sort of black-colored noodles paired with steamed broccoli and a piece of chicken coated in a white sauce. Which both looks and smells delicious, and I'm sure it will taste delicious as well.

"Alright boys, for today's lunch we have black truffle noodles, paired with steamed broccoli and chicken breasts topped off with an egg sauce." My mom explained to me and my father.

As she usually does when she prepares meals for us. Since my mom cooks something different just about all the time. She's always delivering new dishes that taste amazing. Also just like my father's she's exceptionally smart.

She can always keep up with dad during a conversation, something I can barely do despite my mental age being close to thirty.

My parents really are amazing.

"Ah honey, as always you spoil us." My father told my mother once she finished explaining the dish.

"But of course. I enjoy spoiling the two most important men in my life." My mother retorted to my father.

"And we appreciate it." I said.

"Yes, we do." My father said. He then took my mom's hand into his own. "So Ana, how about after lunch I spoil you." He said. Using my mother's nickname, Ana.

"Oh my Sieghart. Well if you really want to." My mother said shyly. A massive blush and smile on her face as she did so.

Seeing this my father smiled even bigger and leaned in closer. As did my mother.

The two of them completely forgetting I am in the room.

Seeing this I put a wry smile on my face.

This is a normal occurrence. My parents despite obviously being together for many years are still super lovey-dovey with each other all the time. I've witnessed it several times in my life and while I do think its sweet I really wish they would take notice of me more and wait until I at least leave the room before they start creating a pink zone.

After all, no kid wants to see their parents getting so intimate in front of them. Well at least I don't.

My parents are continuing to make lovey-dovey eyes at each other. Seeing this I decided to intervene before I see something that will scar me for life.

*Ahem*

I faked coughed several times into a closed-fist.

When I did so my parents pink zone instantly vanished and they both turned to look at me.

"Mom dad I get that you guys love each other a lot, but please wait until I leave the room before doing such things." I said.

They both nodded as I said since.

"Alright then, let's eat." I said.

Once I did my parents and I started enjoying our lunch. Making small talk as we did so.

Eventually we finished eating.

"So, son anything currently on your mind right now?" My father asked me once our meal was over.

"Well yes actually." I said. "I think I want to start taking martial arts lessons." I said.

"Oh, and why is that?" My mom asked.

"Because I have already decided what I want to do in the future and martial arts lessons with help with that." I said.

"Oh, and what is it you want to do in the future son?" My father asked me.

"I want to take the Hunter exam and become a pro hunter." I said.

But when I did so the entire atmosphere of the room shifted in the blink of an eye.

The moment the words hunter exam and pro hunter left my mouth both my mom and dad started giving me hard looks.

As soon as they did so I began wondering maybe I have just said something I shouldn't have.

Looks like I am about to encounter my first major hurdle since being reincarnated.
