When they finally parted ways, Aila was among the students, keeping her head low as they walked in a row to their seats in the cathedral. That didn't stop others from instantly recognising her and whispering gossip about her. Some of them were her classmates, half of them too afraid to speak to her, yet the others smiled and waved at her like they used to.

Jodie and Kelly were the first to come up to Aila and catch up as though they'd never parted, and she was not now one of the most powerful women in the room. She'd always liked the pair and forgot how close they once were. The last six months felt more like three years. Yet she enjoyed their company and took some photos with them.
