23 Aquila School of Magic I

These time skips are necessary. We all want to see things happen. So most of the research and kingdom-building in this world will take place in the background.

(Neoth POV)

A century has passed since Alexander and Evangeline left Cadia and went to explore the world. They kept in touch in the beginning, but then it started to die down. They both found their respective lives and even started their own families. They took on the names of their respective spouse since I didn't have a last name. I never gave them one either and so, something funny and interesting happened. But I won't say that now, it will be quite a surprise in the future. 

Over the years, I have researched 'bloodlines' in detail. I wanted to find out, whether there was some truth to the power of a wizard corresponding to his bloodline. For that reason, I took some blood from many wizards and analysed it. I checked the concentration of magic energy, the talent of the wizard, age, sex, heritage and many other things to see whether something played a role in the final strength of the wizard or witch. And I came to the conclusion, that there is only some truth to that. 

If both parents are a wizard and a witch, then the child has a very big chance to also be a wizard or a witch. If both parents are powerful or talented, then the children will inherit some of that talent. I saw it with my own children as well. I am beyond talented, so them being considered geniuses is not that surprising. But there are other cases of similar things happening. 

The opposite is also true, though. Two non-magical parents can birth an incredibly talented magical genius. This will happen very soon in fact. I have already seen it happen and he will be quite influential in the world. So the theory of bloodline supremacy is not true. Many different things are important for a truly powerful wizard or witch to be born. The date, the concentration of magic energy in the surroundings during the pregnancy, the age of the parents, the time of the day, the upbringing, etc. 

However ... I have found something interesting. After many years of researching bloodlines and their special magic, I have understood how to manipulate them. I could theoretically already do that, using the blood parasite, but now I could do it using magic and this one was even better. I could change things, give talents or take them away. The irony of this discovery was not lost on me. 

In my search to find out whether some bloodlines are truly more powerful than others, I found out that the theory is false, but also found a way, to make the theory true. I already planned what to do with this power. I would use this to give those loyal to me and the Imperium, better bloodlines, with more talent. It will be similar to what Yhwach the King of Quincy does when he hands out Schrifts. Those who will get their bloodline improved will equally get it under my control. 

I will not allow arrogance to lead to a heresy. If they think of themselves as better than me, they will have their bloodline stripped from them. And with the bloodline stripped, everything else will also be taken away. I will take away their magic, their knowledge, everything. They will be nothing but an empty husk of flesh.

The research of bloodlines also brought with it, the idea of finally creating my magic school. I have waited long enough and over the years, I have found the perfect place for it as well. I decided to place my school in a separate dimension. I did not do it like Hogwarts did and only provided one train to transport the children. I did it differently. I used the Pegasi, I was able to breed and have them pull carriages, which were found in every major city in Cadia. 

Using illusions and powerful concealment charms, I disguised the Pegasi as regular horses and used extension charms to make the interior of the carriages as big as they needed to be. That way, everyone can travel to Aquila from their home city. Those who don't live in a city are collected like a school bus, by a Pegasi carriage as well. 

After all the children are in a carriage, the Pegasi takes off and flies through the sky towards the very centre of Cadia, where a big castle-like structure. But this is not the school, that is located somewhere else. This place is only the entrance to the separate dimension.

To enter the dimension, the children have to change transportation. From the carriages, they board a large sailing yacht, which brings them across the magical stream through the deep forest of magical creatures until they reach the cave of wonder, which contains the Tree of Knowledge. The sailing yacht has many different compartments that fit such a modern yacht. Each compartment fits as many people as they want to stay inside. For those who wish to sleep, there are places for that. The yacht provides the children with almost everything they can hope for, except alcohol and gaming consoles. I don't like those.

The Tree of Knowledge is a giant tree I have created which holds the second-largest library in the entire world. The largest one being my own of course. It is a giant tree, reaching up to about 6-7 kilometres. Around and inside the tree, is the school built into it. The tree stands on a big set of rocks that stand in the water. All around the cave are different types of trees and magical plants. The Cave of Wonder is a giant cave that contains many different magical creatures. Yginth can fit in the cave 10 times over. Even Ember has space in here, in his biggest form. And he has grown rather large over the years.

The big lake is as deep as the Mediterranean Sea and contains many different magical creatures and tons of different fish. I made sure to create a functioning ecosystem in the Cave of Wonder. The Tree of Knowledge feeds off of the magic that is provided either by me or by the students who use magic there and release some into the environment. And not only that, the Tree of Knowledge is growing stronger as it feeds on magic. It is for all intents and purposes, alive. It listens to everything I tell it to and it seems that it can even communicate with me through magic. 

Aquila School of Magic provides the Tree of Knowledge with magic as well and in turn, gets magic from the tree back. It is a symbiotic relationship they have. Both of them strengthen each other over time.

My magic school and the process of administration worked differently than it will for Hogwarts. The students won't have to be brought to a special 'magical village' where they will buy their supplies and go from one shop to the next. No, that won't be the case in my school. I have a much better and more efficient way of going about it. First off, the amount of money each family has to pay depends on the amount of wealth and income they have. Richer families will pay more and those who have less will pay less. But in Cadia the distance between the richest and the 'less rich' is very small. 

I am interested to see how everyone will react when they see the way they get their wands ... it's about time that students come anyway. We'll see.

"Cherie, it's time you wake up. You'll miss the time they will come to pick you up.", I hear the voice of my mother calling me from downstairs.

"Mhsmmh", I mumble into my cushion.

"Sandrine. Sandrine, are you awake?", my mother says and opens the door to my room," Sandrine! You're still in bed? If you don't hurry, they'll go without you! Do you really want to miss your first day at that magical school, mon petit?", Maman says and I immediately rise. She's right. Today will be the first day of me attending a 'magical school'. When the Emperor himself was at the door, both of my parents almost fainted from shock. The Emperor ... even though we aren't officially an Empire, everyone knows the truth. We control most of the world already and Cadia is so advanced, that taking over the world would be a simple matter, according to Papa. 

"I'm up!", I say and run into the bathroom, to get myself cleaned and changed. 

"Hurry up a bit, mon coeur, otherwise you'll be late. Breakfast is ready downstairs."

"Merci, Maman.", I say and start the shower. After 30 minutes, I run down and sit at the table to eat my breakfast. The man said we don't have to eat breakfast, but Maman said that we don't know how long the journey will take, so it's better to be safe than sorry. 

"Are you excited, Sandrine?", my brother asks me. He has a longing look on his face. He is two years younger than me, so 8 years old. School starts when you're 10 years old, and the magic things start one year later. The Emperor told us that the magic school, Aquila, contains a high concentration of magic. So when I go there one year earlier, my magic will develop better and one year later, when I'm 11, I can start my magic education. I can't wait, to be honest, and Bruno is also the same. 

"Oui Bruno. I am very excited. Don't worry, in two years, it will be your turn to go. We can talk every day if you want and I will tell you about the school.", I tell him. We were given magical books, that also work for those who don't have magic, like my parents. With it, you can talk to each other and even see the other person's face. It is amazing. The Emperor is an amazing man.

"You're right! We will do that!", my brother smiles at that. 

"You better call us, cherie. I want to know everything there is to know about your school. If there are any other nice students, your friends, the classes and the big library, his Majesty has told us about.", Maman tells me. 

"Yes, make sure you tell us if there is something that bothers you. I will try to take care of it then.", Papa tells me and I roll my eyes.

"Papa, the school has been created by the Emperor himself. There is no way that it will be dangerous.", I say.

*Knock Knock Knock*

Someone knocks at the door and Papa opens it. There stands a man wearing noble attire. I feel that the man is both elegant and also strong. I don't know why, but I get that feeling. The man bows his head slightly and greets us. 

"Greetings, my name is Robert. I will be the assistant for the first years today. Normally there isn't anyone, but since this is the first year, it has been deemed appropriate that someone comes and brings your daughter personally. Is she ready?", the man asks and my father nods his head. I can tell he is glad someone comes to retrieve me personally. 

"I'm ready.", I say.

"We didn't know what to give her, since it was never stated.", Papa says a bit nervously. 

"You don't have to worry. Everything your daughter will need, will be provided to her.", Robert says and my father nods. We all have a group hug and say goodbye to each other. I won't see my parents and brother again for half a year, at least in person. 

"Goodbye Cherie, call us, ok?"

"Oui Maman."

"Well young Sandrine Chastain. If you enter the carriage, you will meet your fellow classmates and we can be off. Don't worry, everyone is nervous. Try to enjoy the ride.", Robert tells me and opens the door for me. I take the first step and see a completely new place. The inside of the carriage ... is huge. I can see 8 other children also 10 year olds looking at me. Some are smiling at me and others are also nervous. 

"Well, everyone. This is Sandrine Chastain. Please welcome her, ok? Now, this was the last person today. We can finally leave for Aquila.", Robert says and knocks on the wall.

Sorry if the tenses weren't correct. I will show what Aquila looks like from the eyes of this OC. I think it's a good way to experience the school like a new student would.
