7 The Meeting Of Two Powerful Beings

"Hahahaha, I knew he had already failed this exam the moment he targeted Violet," Isaac laughed heatedly, tears almost falling out of his eyes; it was evident he really enjoyed how Ikor dealt with the red-haired boy.

"Such a pity, he was a talented lad, one who is almost on par with Violet and Ikor," the green-eyed lady commented in a sad voice. "If only he had used his ability, maybe he might have passed this exam."

"Hmpf, even if he uses his ability, do you think he can beat Ikor?" Isaac retorted strongly, leaving the green-eyed lady a bit puzzled.

While it was true that Torrin and Dalton had done enough for Earth, and everybody revered and appreciated them, Isaac seemed to be bordering on obsession.

That obsession seemed to even cloud his eyes not to see a talented kid that was able to best others without even activating his ability. Emerald, the green-eyed lady couldn't help but shake her head. If it were within her power, she wouldn't let such genius slip away so easily.

In her thoughts, Momo suddenly spoke. "Emerald, do you remember the favor the principal gave me?"

Emerald was confused as to why Momo was bringing this up all of a sudden. "Yes, I remembered he said you can use it for anything within his powers. But if I may ask, why bring that up now?"

Momo didn't reply for some time, his attention still fixed on the screen, which was displaying the moment where Nyx had used deception—feigning a coward, then suddenly catching the overconfident Violet.

What shocked Momo even more was when the red-haired boy had suddenly vanished in front of Violet and appeared behind her, as if he was a seasoned assassin trained from birth.

But how was that possible when the person in question is just 13, a freaking thirteen years old? If not for Momo's seasoned eyes, not even he would have noticed that Nyx didn't actually disappear. In reality, what he did was a martial art technique. He was even fortunate to discover this after replaying the footage in slow motion and rewinding it over and over again.

If not, he'd have concluded that Nyx possessed a teleportation-type ability. Although he tried not to believe it, deep down inside him, Momo knew that Nyx was several times more talented than Ikor and Violet.

What made those two powerful were their abilities, but that calmness, fast thinking, and calculated attacks were something they could never execute.

However, that red-haired boy executed all the above as though it was routine, as if everything was within his reach, just like a seasoned chess player.

'Monster.' This was the only thing Momo could think before taking a deep breath, then he finally shifted his gaze to Emerald who had asked him the question.

"I want to use it now."

(In the waiting room for all those eliminated from the exam...)

Splash!

Nyx felt a cold bucket of water splash on him, drenching him from head to toe. The chilly water would have made anyone his age shiver and their skin turn red, but Nyx leisurely opened his eyes and looked, seeing several boys and girls looming before him...

"He's awake!"

Nyx felt his ear ring a little as he tried to sit up, the moment where he was so close to knocking out Violet replaying in his head, but that image quickly shattered when he heard Ikor's whisper.

'I failed the exam...' Nyx thought in realization, the words weighing heavier than he thought. For a moment, he disregarded all the students in the room, his brain contemplating what course of action to take.

Achieving his goal in this life would have been easier if he attended the Hero Academy because this was the best way to avoid the wrath of the top Heroes and Villains.

In his past life, he had been the most wanted and loathed person on Earth by villains and heroes alike.

Yes, as surprising as it sounded, even the villains were after Nightmare...

Because he was a villain to the villains.

But in this life, although he knew sooner or later, 'they' would be after him again, he'd have enough time to grow in strength, accumulate pawns, and surpass his previous self in strength if only he attended the academy with the fake disguise of being a hero.

"Sigh, such a pity that I have to make changes to my plan," Nyx spoke with a bit of melancholy in his voice, knowing the difficulty of the road ahead for him.

"Motherfucker, are you even acknowledging our presence?" At that moment, one of the boys sneered in annoyance. It was the boy with the fire ability.

'Hmm, seems someone is speaking to me.' Nyx thought as he took a closer look at the room.

A room crowded by angry-looking teens who were all glaring at Nyx as if he had murdered their parents greeted the 13 year old. The most furious-looking one out of the bunch was the young master, the girl he had used as a meat shield, and the boy with the fire ability.

Nyx was a bit confused; he didn't recall eliminating this guy, but either way, even a fool would know that these guys were here for revenge.

A moment later, they all lunged at Nyx like angry bees.

A few minutes later, they were all heaped into a small heap, and they were reeling in pain, making low growls. Their faces were practically destroyed, with their teeth lying everywhere and blood painting the walls.

The beautiful girl who Nyx had used as a meat shield now looked hideous, very hideous, due to the red-haired boy repeatedly pounding on her face.

She felt like crying, but she couldn't because that monster hit her on the throat. She was a girl for fuck's sake; weren't boys supposed to be the epitome of gentleness?

What was perhaps a bit unsettling was how he was pounding her face with a calm, emotionless face and indifferent eyes. It felt as if he does this all the time.

What the girl didn't know was that this was Nyx's way of venting out his own defeat.

Creak.

Just then, a creak sounded, and the door opened. Nyx, who was sitting on top of the small hill thinking about his life, gazed at the door, seeing a man in a white fit tuxedo and a pair of eyeglasses walked in. His black hair was slicked back, and his face looked handsome and stoic. Overall, he gave off the aura of the CEO of some multimillion-dollar company.

"Who are you?" Nyx asked in a bored tone. From this clean and mature appearance, Nyx didn't think this guy was here for a fight, but his guard was still high like an impenetrable fortress.

"The name is Momo, and I'd like to have a talk with you, if that's you don't mind," Momo said with a professional smile.
