41 Leaving The Academy

"Is it true that you'll be fighting against Bob Maxwell?" Apollo asked Nyx. The two were currently having breakfast. A day had passed already since the impending fight between Bob and Nyx spread throughout the academy.

Naturally, the yellow house had caught wind of this news, but they were hesitant to confirm with the red-haired. Noticing this, Apollo, who felt he was much closer to the red-haired boy than the rest, finally spoke up.

Nyx calmly chewed on the meat on his fork, leaving the people anticipating his answer. After swallowing and drinking a cup of water, he said, "Yes, it's true."

"Damn, son, do you even know who Bob Maxwell is?" A fourth-year who seemed to be in his 20s exclaimed after hearing what Nyx said.

Most of the members had thought this was just a rumor flying around the academy, but after confirming with one of the fighters, they couldn't help but feel pity for Nyx.

"Why did you agree to that kind of bet?" Anna said, a hint of concern in her voice. "Bob made the top 100 at the last interschool tournament. Do you even know what that means?"

"Not only that, but on the field trip a year ago, Bob also came out in the top 10 among the third-years," Molly chimed in. "Even his strength is rumored to be over 100. So think carefully, you can still bail out now. I just don't think it's worth it to risk your future in this academy for a position in the Blood Ligeon. Sure, the Blood Ligeon has connections, but it still doesn't worth it."

Hearing Molly, Nyx was a bit taken aback. He had expected the black-haired girl to be angry with him for killing her boyfriend, but instead, he saw that she was concerned about him.

Little did Nyx know that Molly had long moved on. It was actually after Marcus's death that she realized she didn't really love him. When the despicable 'things' he had done came to light, she even started to dislike him. Now she felt appalled at the thought that she was even in a relationship with someone like that.

Looking back at Molly, Anna, Apollo, and the rest of the yellow house, Nyx said, "I appreciate your concern. But I didn't come to this academy to play it safe. I came here to prove myself, to push my limits, and to become the best hero I can be."

"Bob Maxwell may be a formidable opponent, but he's not unbeatable. And I refuse to let fear dictate my actions." With a confident smile, Nyx placed a hand on Apollo's shoulder. "I know you're worried about me, but trust me, I've got this. And when I emerge victorious, you'll see that I'm not just another fighter in this academy. I'm the one they'll be talking about."

'I can't believe I'm spitting this bullshit. Well, I've done this plenty of times in the past.' To manipulate orders, Nyx had also practiced acting, which is why he could say all this with a straight face.

Seeing that Nyx was determined to follow his decision, the students gave up all effort in trying to persuade him. After all, it was still his life; they couldn't impose their views on him. If he said he wants to risk his future because of greed for power, so be it.

"This kid would get himself killed even before the fight comes to an end," a student shook his head in pity as Nyx left the building.

Meanwhile, the red-haired boy in question was going to an appointment with Momo. Yesterday, Momo had told Nyx to meet up with him for something important. The blond man who had a penchant for glasses had even told him to wear some flexible clothes. This made the red-haired boy curious.

"You're here," Momo said immediately as Nyx appeared before the administrative building. Like usual, he was dressed in his suit and wore a pair of glasses. What was new was the briefcase in his hands and the black Lamborghini that was parked beside him.

"Are we leaving the academy?" Nyx asked, a bit excited but not showing it. After coming back to life in this body, the red-haired boy had been curious about how the world looked like.

"Yes, in normal circumstances, this is not readily allowed for students to leave the academic premises, but since it's me, there should be no problem."

Entering the car, the two started their journey. From the car's mirror, the academy landmark flew past in a blink, and soon they came to a stop before a metal wall that served as the boundary between the academy ground and outside.

As they approached the wall, a red light shot out from the wall and scanned the automobile. Soon, a green light flashed, indicating that they had clearance to exit the premises.

With the security clearance confirmed, the metal wall began to retract, revealing a hidden passage leading out of the academy. The Lamborghini glided through the opening; after a while, the sun hit the car. Nyx looked out of the window and he could see forest at his side, but when he tried to look behind at where they had come from, he found out there was nothing there.

There was nothing there. There was no giant structure he could call the academy.

'What trickery is this?' Nyx almost blurted these words out. Back in his days, there were no super items that could make a structure as big as the academy invisible.

"There is actually an invisible dome covering the academy," Momo said after seeing the look in Nyx's eyes. "The dome is always activated and serves as an additional layer of security for the academy. It's equipped with advanced spatial technology that renders the entire structure invisible to outsiders. You could even stand there, but you'll never discover the presence of a structure or find anything strange."

"Does this mean the academy is in a whole different realm?" Nyx asked, still amazed. He was still in disbelief at how advanced Earth has become.

"Correct, this Academy cost almost about 5 trillion Dollars." Momo paused as he put one hand on his chin. "That's why I still can't understand how a villain was able to infiltrate the academy."

'So he doesn't know?' Nyx thought as he looked at the trees from the window. 'Better keep it like that.'

Although Momo had been helping him, the red-haired boy didn't trust him even one bit. To him, Momo was just a shield to protect himself. As such, he decided to refrain from telling the latter that he was the one who killed all those students because at the end of the day, he was still an instructor in the hero academy.

Just then, the car entered the city with the words Los Angeles, but little did they know that behind them, there was another car. Inside that car, there was a bald man with a mustache.

"This time around, I'll eliminate you for once. It doesn't matter if I have to kill that annoying Momo along with you. For the humiliation you made me go through, it's only death you two deserve!" Isaac said with wicked glints in his eyes.
