New World II

Looking at what he did with utter disbelief in his face, Loris couldn't wrap his mind around what just happened. He never once thought that would come the day when a cat would almost kill him, much less that would be a giant and magical one.

But from what happened till now, he knows this is only the beginning.

'I'm really exhausted after spending all that energy.'

After using all his magical energy to kill the cat, he mentally felt like he just ran a whole marathon. He is mentally and emotionally tired, he is even injured in his shoulder even though the pain can't compare with that earlier hell, it still hurts. Not even counting he is hungry as heck, probably because of the magical healing his body went through while he was uncountious.

"I would love to grab a snack and sleep but... Sigh."

What left of his home and the memories in it are now under all that debris. He walked to the magical cat's corpse and pulled the bloodfilled metal pipe out of it.

'Judging from the noise around, I'll need it.'

Approaching the fence-wall that used to separate his house's backyard from the neighbors's, he saw that the tree his neighbor, Mr. Welson, always so carefully tended was sprawlled in the ground with it's trunk over the wall, opening a big enough space for him to pass through. But looking at the other side he quickly eliminated the idea.

SOB

'After all the care and love they had for you, this is how you repay them!!'

With a tear running down in his face, he screamed internally seeing Belly, Mr. Welson's dog, eating his and his wife's corpses. From the looks of it, they were attacked by the back when they were running towards the back exit that was used to put the trash outside.

The Rabid Dog have a claw wound on his torso, probably injured by the couples's cat, the same he just killed. When they received the magical energy they must have lost control and attacked each other, the cat managed to injure his enemy and fled - a cat is still a cat after all. A giant cat still fears a giant dog.

GRIP!

Loris strongly gripped the metal pipe, he wanted nothing more than to go there and kill the damn Rabid Dog but he doesn't have the confidence to, even more now that he is extremely tired and don't even have his magical energy anymore, even though he could feel that the area around him is filled with it.

The couple was always kind to him, even helping and giving him attention after his parents died, they would visit him each week to see if he was eating well. With tears still welling down, he silently turned his back to scene.

Now, with eyes filled with determination he walked toward the back exit of his own house thinking of where to go next.

'I will go to Joel's house, it's only three blocks away.'

He decided his destination and opened the small gate without hesitation, not even stopping to think what could have happened to his best friend or if his house is still up because he knew that if he want to survive, he will need to have a strong mind, thinking things like 'What if he died?' or 'What if his house also crumbled' will only damper his mood and weaken his resolve.

His father always said: "Great actions need great will'.

Firming this mindset he walked out of his backyard, ready to face whatever this new world throws at him.
