Awakening

There he was, lazing in the confortable sofa of his not luxurious but well furnished house, procrastinating instead of preparing himself to the presentation of his susteinable robot in the Mechatronics Fair that is annualy prepared by the Aplicated Mechanics Department of his university, which he is part of.

Apart from some details like high grades - high enough to attract atention but not enough to be called a genius - slightly handsomeness and talent for building things, Loris is the typical college student. His 1.8 meters tall, inky black hair, slightly tanned skin, slightly handsome angular face and a hint of a mustache and a goatee, characteristics he inherited from his brazilian father and american mother.

He currently is on the second year of the Mechatronics course, the one he chose because of the love of building things he inherited from his late father, who taught him from how to make toys made of scrap metal to how to build primitive hidraulic energy generators. Although Loris's father dismantle and rebuild almost anything, his own wife fought against his love for airplanes for the second place in his heart, the first being his son.

His father was responsible of a team of mechanics that maintened planes fit and safe for its travel and his mother was a recepcionist in the same airport. Both died six years ago when a uncontrolled landing plane crashed in a fuel station and exploded, along with the airport and the ones in it.

He doesn't have a lot friends but he treasure the ones he have, even more considering the crush he have on his best friend's sister, the one he consider as a brother ( in-law) and have been supporting each other since the last year of Elementary School.

Fidgeting on his phone, he stood up and walked to the fridge, not stepping on the dangerously scattered metal pieces on the floor even though his whole focus was on the smartphone.

"Hm?"

For a moment, he felt something strange which made him stop walking.

RUMBLE RUMBLE RUMBLE

The ground was shaking as if hit by a grade 7 earthquake, the walls and roof started crumbling

.

"SHIT!!"

He ran as fast as he could towards the door at the back of the kitchen that leads to the backyard.

THUM THUM

He heard the beat of his heart clearly, through all the thunderous noise of the earth splitting apart and his house falling on his head.

"This feeling...."

He felt like he is jailed in a small cage made of very sturdy glass which walls are only ten centimeters away from his body and never even noticed it. He didn't like this feeling one bit.

"Urgh!"

When he was around ten steps away from the back door that strange feeling hit him again along with an unbearable pain from all over his body.

THUD! BOOOM!

He fell, spasming as if electrocuted until the place he called home all his life fell over him, signing his death sentence, at the same time as the earthquakes stopped.

Earth's situation.....Unknown. Loris's situation.....Unknown.
